Sis twelve5, We have someone visiting so sa kanya namin papadala. Unfortunately phased out na ata yung AlternaGEL so I need to look for a non-script alternative. Kumpletuhin ko na yung step 3 sa K9 kidney group so I can ask them for suggestions since most of them are based in the US anyway.

Simba is actually very makulit & malakas kumain lately. Di mo akalain na may sakit. Tapos I got that e-mail from the group that the owner didn't expect her dog to die kasi just a few days prior she was strong & active. Na paranoid naman ako all over again. This whole experience is teaching me so much. Nasa moderate pa naman yung CRF nya compared to the other dogs there but we make the most out of the weekends because you never really know. I think very happy din naman sya kasi lately lahat ng pasyal kasama din sya.

Hi moccaccino! Panay google ko nga nyan today. Wala akong makitang seller. Tsk... Naghahanap din ako ng OTC para makabili maski konti.

Buti nga ginawa nilang multi step yung application. Kasi dati yung medical history nasa step 1. Incomplete yung info ko kaya di ko natuloy yung application ko. At least now, nakaka basa-basa ako maski wala pa akong na submit sa step 3. Hehe


Naku, I skip the posts on passing. Ayoko umiyak at ma-depressed. Napa praning din Kasi ako lalo.

Just continue what you're doing now. I'm sure happy si simba mo. You have to be strong and upbeat para di sya ma stress at ma sense yung worries mo. Picture-picture din. Hehe.

Namatay na yung shih tzu puppy ko kahapon, 2 weeks ago naoperahan sya kasi nagprolapsed rectum nya, tapos nung isang araw lumabas nanaman tapos dinala ko sa vet kinabukasan hindi na nya nakayanan.

Nung July sya naka experience ng lbm kasi nasa kapatid ni bf, nung nakita ko na namayat at nagllbm kinuha ko na ulit tapos pa check sa vet gumaling naman sya, akala ko nga mamatay na sya non. Yun nga lang hindi mabuo buo ang dumi nya. Parang nasira na bowel movement nya kaya siguro nahprolapsed na rectum... Sa tao napaka treatable nito bakit sa aso hindi...

^ I just read what zoeymaicaboo posted earlier. Mukhang duon nga papunta yun. If due to parasite daw, treat.. Otherwise, euthanasia na.   

Mas maigi na siguro yun that she passed peacefully and not in pain... and that you didn't have to make the decision to euthanize. Ang hirap nitong gawin, if ever. There will always be a feeling of guilt, IMO.

Give yourself time to mourn...  In due time you will know what to do.

^hirap na hirap yung kalooban ko sis kasi talagang akala ko naging okay na sya kasi super sigla, sobrang takaw, as in naka recover sya after a weeks nung kinuha ko sya. Nung kinuha ko kasi nadumi na sya ng dugo (akala nga namin parvo), tapos ayaw nyang kumain, kapa ko na ang backbone nya. Tsaka sobrang lambing, gumanda pangangatawan nya, halos 2 months din sya na nabuhay dito sa akin. Ginastusan ko ang mga needs nya, malaki laki rin yun. Tapos isang saglit biglang nagkaganun sya. Pero ramdam ko na nung gabi na mukhang iba na sya kasi ang laki nung lumabas sa pwet nya, parang may large intestines na. Kaya sabi ko dadalhin ko na sa vet kasi baka bukas pag gising ko patay na, hindi ko kaya yun. Hehe drama ko lang. 😄 Peri naisip ko siguro time nya na talaga magpahinga kasi baka wala na talaga magagawa sa case nya. Hayyyy.

^ omg. Parang grabe na nga yung last episode nya... Yup, time na nga mag rest sya. No more pain. Time to let go na nga... She will forever be in your heart naman. Even if you decide to get a new pet in the future.

^masakit man pero i have to let her go. Actually wala pa naman namamatay na adult pet na matagal na sa akin. Ito kasing puppy ay anak ng isa kong adult na binili ng kapatid ni bf. siguro mas heart breaking yung matagal mo ng nakasama...

Doc me-ann (VIP WP) gave mine azodyl. Naka trial kami for 2 weeks.

^ Hi sis, unfortunately my Simba passed away several months ago. Hindi na nya kinaya & he succumbed to multiple organ failure. I was so depressed about it that I had to go away from GT muna & not read anything related to it kasi iyak lang ako ng iyak.  But I'm better now. Sabi nila yung solution daw is to get another pet pero I think hindi na muna.  After all, I feel it was my mistake kaya sya nagka kidney problems.

Azodyl ba yung capsules na dapat refrigerated? We tried that also kaya lang hanggang 2 capsules lang yung na bigay naming kasi by then it was already too late & the other organs were starting to shut down already.  Mixed reviews sya sa internet pero the worst that can happen naman is nothing so I hope hiyang sya sa pet mo.  Mahal sya but some have sworn that their pet was able to recover significantly from that medicine.

I Was busy/sick kaya I wasn't able to get online the last few weeks/months. Now ko lang try balikan mga threads/posts ko.

Yup, that's the one. Naka ref, P60 per capsule. Bawal sprinkle sa food, must be taken as is daw. Eh super extra challenge samin yan. Magician si pogi ko. Nailuluwa pa rin nya yung capsule. So sprinkle ko sa cesar dog food para lang maka take sya maski less effective. RX is 2 in the AM, and 1 in the PM.

Headscratcher pa rin Kasi condition nya. High creatinine, normal BUN, low BP. So di alam ano talaga sakit.

May UTI din sya now maski he takes Nefrotec. Nakaka taka.


In due time, you will know when it's time for a new dog. Dadating nalang yan. I wish you well, sis.

^ thanks sis. I remember reading in the K9 kidney diet group that the presence of kidney stones or crystals can mimic the symptoms of renal failure and I think UTI was also mentioned as a warning sign (or something to that effect).  Some breeds, a lot of them were toy dogs, are really just prone to forming stones & the preventative measure is a strict diet.  Nag unsubscribe na ako sa group so I no longer have access to their info but you may want to check it out for verification and let your vet know.

^ UTI is one of the symptoms nga... Pero may preventive medicine sya, yung nefrotec that he takes 2x a day kaya di ko alam bakit nagkaron pa rin. Nakaka suya nga eh.

2-3 days na mejo pa cry cry yung dog ko. I'm not sure if the azodyl is the culprit. I read also na some dogs get tummy trouble. Baka may konting spasm.

Anyway, I'm hopeful pa rin na sana his condition will get better. Hirap din Kasi nakaka stress sa family ko.

Anyway, ask mo lang sana girls if may naexperience na kayong nag-vomit yung pet nyo ng all liquid na yellowish parang wiwi with bubbles? Yesterday kasi nag-vomit yung pet namin. Sabi ng BF ko pag ganun daw yung suka ng dog nila, meaning nalimutan mapakain or something. Di naman na naulit pagsuka nya ng liquid, once lang last Friday. So just wanted to ask baka meron may same experience. Para we can also relay sa vet pag nakavisit kami. Thanks in adv

^ yup. Nalipasan sya ng gutom... Try feeding a little more or adding another small meal during the day, if it happens again.

^I agree...adding another or two or three small meals a day mo na lang. baka rin naparami ng inom ng tubig.

btw, my 4 year old dog's infected with distemper virus. almost three weeks now. hay... emotionally and financially draining pero kelangan ilaban. hopefully she'll recover.

Di ko sana ipapa annual shots yung pogi ko (he is also 4), pero upon discussing with doc me-an (of vip white plains), eh napa go tuloy ako. Sabi nga nya may mga cases of distemper now... Tapos wala din titer test sa vip. Tsk. Sana meron na sila next yr.  gusto ko kasi talaga na skip na annual vax as much as possible.
