^ Hi sis, so sorry to hear about your dog

It's good that you're giving him IV hydration. that's one of the best first aid treatments you can do. Make sure to put a sturdy splint on his arm para di masyado magalaw. Mas prone to dislodging ang needle esp. pag small breed dogs. When my puppy got sick, I had to hold his arm most of the time kasi even a little movement will disrupt the flow ng IV. as in holding hands kami the whole time even if may splint na.
If your dog still has vomiting episodes it's ok to hold off on food for 24 hours to let the stomach rest.
In the meantime try giving him oral supplements like Nutriplus or Nutrical. One tube cost less than P500 sa pet shops/clinics - there's even a seller on sulit who does door-to-door delivery for a small fee. This really helps a lot esp. with sick , weak, traumatized animals.
Pwede din electrolyte solution but I usually prefer gatorade since it's more palatable. pag pedialyte kasi most dogs dont like the taste eh, baka mag induce na naman ng vomiting. Take note na gatorade is not recommended for long term use, just use it to give your dog a little boost of energy.
You can also try honey and yogurt, or ginger water with a bit of honey (to settle the stomach). Give this in very small doses ( a few cc'every 15-30 minutes) using a syringe and just put drops at the corner of your dogs mouth. make sure na naka higa sya sideways with the head elevated para hindi mapunta sa lungs yung fluid.
after than slowly transition to pureed boiled chicken (remove skin) and rice (nothing else added except water and maybe a bit of ginger. no seasoning, salt, or oil). use a syringe or dropper for this and gradually increase the amount of food and lessen the number of feedings every day (from 30 min, 40min, 1hr, 2hours, etc).
Naranasan ko na rin yung almost sabay kami magkasakit ng dogs ko (pero I was on my way to recovery na) and what i did was have the dog rest next to me para within arms reach lang cya - I cuddle mo cya sis para ma lessen ang stress nyong dalawa. this will make him feel a lot better
I placed everything I needed nearby din so I won't exert too much effort if i needed to tend to his/her needs. I basically had a makeshift clinic in my room for the two of us. I made sure din that i took all the necessary meds, kept myself well hydrated, and rested as much as i can - I did everything so I can recover faster (pa home service massage ka sis, i swear this helped me a lot when i was sick - worked better than any medicine)
by the way, have you tried asking another vet for a second opinion? It looks like the vet you went to is not very reliable. If walang other vet sa area nyo, try asking online - CARA, PAWS, dog forums, etc.
Hope this info helps sis. I really hope you and your dog get better soon!
