hi mommies! my daughter stopped drinking from the bottle just this week. I kept on talking to her that she needs to stop drinking milk from the bottle na but she keeps on telling me "mommy, tomorrow okay!". Funny! But consecutive days that's what she always tell me then finally i told her "okay, tomorrow! this is the last time you will drink from your bottle okay." She said "opo mommy". The next day, she asked milk and gave her a training/sippy cup of milk. She then wonders. And i said "you said tomorrow, right? It's tomorrow already." (with a smilling face). :) So, there, she doesn't drink milk from the bottle for 4 days na and so far i'm not having problems w/ it.

I don't push my daughter if she doesn't want to. I just talk to her and if she agrees, then i mark her word. That i practice for years now....be consistent! Coz if you're not, your child will think that there's always an excuse/reason for not following/doing things.

Patience momsies!

sis, according to my readings, dapat at first finger foods muna [textspeak!] ibibigay mo kay baby, cut the food so that its big enough para mahawakan nya then as long as naka upo sya properly hindi sya magcchoke, actually sa case ni baby there are times na nag gag sya (but i read na ang gag reflex daw ng mga baby is more sensitive sa mga adults so before pa magreach sa airway yung food nag gagag na sila).  pero after nya mag gag tuloy lang ang kain nya and napansin ko as the days passed by hindi na sya nag gag parang napractice na sya...

good luck!

sis, sobrang exciting! alam mo in my case talaga super happy ako with this method at saka naoobserve ko [textspeak!] pagprogress nya, ngayon 2 weeks nalang eight months na si baby and she starts using spoon na, niloload ko [textspeak!] yogurt sa spoon tapos sya na naglalagay sa mouth nya, galing! ang bilis ng progress at saka enjoy talaga sya sa pagkain.

For us, it just came naturally. We were bottle-feeding him at first and eventually bought sippy cups because he played with his milk bottles and ended up spilling his milk. After a while, he preferred sippy cup over his milk bottles, which is a great thing. He's now 2 years and 6 months.

bhey0624 since 7 months na sya you can start giving her finger foods, kami nagstart with broccoli, carrots, cauliflower, kahit na ano naman pwede, we cut them up into sizes na madaling mahawakan ni baby then nilalagay lang namin in front of her.  I think its important na may choice din si baby kasi like our baby, minsan hindi nya type [textspeak!] isang food, she will drop it and go for another.

I think nung nag seven months sya we started giving her spoon, i pre load the spoon tapos iaabot ko or i'll just put the spoon in front of her tapos sya magsusubo sa sarili nya.  I started this with yogurt.

enjoy talaga si baby.

mommajane, to be honest, I can't be any happier sa method na to talaga.  I never tried [textspeak!] conventional way of feeding baby but i saw all this method with my nieces and nephews and para sakin lang naman I think this is very convenient plus I love the fact na magkakasabay talaga kami kumakain.  so iuupo namin si baby sa high chair nya then we say grace, then iseserve ko na [textspeak!] food ni baby then kami din kakain na, so pati sya talagang part ng family.  may time nga na nakakatuwa talaga coz nagkkwentuhan kami of course habang kumakain then bigla din magmumumble si baby parang nakikipagkwentuhan din haha....

another advantage, early on nasasanay na si baby sa various food at nakakapili sya.

turning three months pa lang baby mo kaya you have all the time to explore and research on this matter.

but in my case two thumbs up talaga tong BLW.

Oo nga sis, in our case mas convenient yung high chair pag nasa labas kami she sits on my lap when she eats parang hinahanap nya talaga yung upuan nya  :D

Sis, according to some of my readings hindi pa naman late to start a one year old with BLW, yun nga lang you have to mix feed at the start tapos gradually lessen na yung pag spoon feed sa kanya, take your baby's cue on how to progress with BLW.

i tried this as in pinara-piraso ko yung bread then i put it on her tray. hindi nya sinubo isa isa but she picked everything up and put it in her mouth! nakakatawa!

I think nung nag seven months sya we started giving her spoon, i pre load the spoon tapos iaabot ko or i'll just put the spoon in front of her tapos sya magsusubo sa sarili nya.  I started this with yogurt.

ito naman yung gusto ko itry next time. sa ngayon kasi i put food sa spoon then sya na mismo lalapit sa spoon para i-feed sarili nya. wala pa masyadong kalat hehe :)
