queue = like saying the letter Q

Tomato, tomato.

It's an acronym, so you can say it however you want.  "Peet-uh" just comes naturally for native English speakers.  But I've heard it with the short "e" too, just like how a lot of people say it here.  Okay lang ang "peh-ta" kasi ganun talaga ang natural na slide ng dila dito.

Yung pangit is pag sinabi mo "peet-uh" tapos mali mali and unnatural naman yung pronunciation mo of everything else.
