^yung cardin sa pierre cardin, i think it should be pronounced as car-dan. kagaya sa lanvin, dapat lan-van.

the word preface is pronounced [pref-is] and not [pree-feys]. may mga ganun kasi.

these words are usually mispronounced because of the stress/intonation:

CEremony not ceREmony
CATegory not caTEgory

haaay naku! nakakaloko talaga ang mga foreign words ano?

eksampol:

the word LAUGHTER - wala namng "F" pero it is pronounced as laF-ter

eh, how about SLAUGHTER? - ba't naiba bigla? nagdagdag lang ng "S" ah.

naalala ko tuloy this girl na former blockmate ko, nakasalubong ko sha town center once, binati yung bag ko, seryoso sha when she said " wow, iba ka girl, pa-gussi gussi nalang " she was looking at my gucci (gu-chi) bag, my then-BF and i tried our best to control our laughter.. nawindang ako sa kanya eh. hehe!

Surname ko Herrera, should be pronounced as e-rera. Sabi din nung ex ko na colombian (spanish ang salita nila), should be e-rera nga kasi may naririnig daw sya na he-rey-ra

^yup, pag Spanish ang origin ng word, dapat silent "H". yung "J" naman ang pronounced as "H".

nakakatawa nga pag may marinig kang mali-mali ang pronunciation ng foreign words, pero kung di dapat eh. buti kung puro English lang, may mga Italian, German, at kung [textspeak!]-ano pa. pero ang nakakaloko sa lahat ay ang French. grrrrrr!

shu uemura - shu e-mu-ra (long e) pag japanese

same with Hernandez, Er-nan-dez.

yung classmate ko rin dati, gusi ng gusi sa Gucci watch ng mom niya. kesyo ang mahal daw.

meron naman, new gf ng ex ko. may common friend pala kami. and this new gf, socialite, party animal. one time yung common friend namin, nagsuot ng sexy dress kasi dating conservative yun, narinig ko lang sabi niya sa friend ko "wow, may pa cleavage-cleavage ka na ngayon.." pronouncing it as cli-vayj.

Di ba pag Spanish origin ang "J" nagiging "Y"? ex: Johann = Yohan

Pati yung double L? ex: Medellin = Medeyin

I just remember when I was training a Canadian campaign, we had to study their Geography including how the cities were pronounced. The capital city of Saskatchewan is REGINA and it is pronounced as RUH-JAINA. Syempre ang mga malisyoso kong trainees tuwang-tuwa naman hehe..It's always fun to learn something new.

I really tried my darn best not to react when someone from our Cash Department pronounced "voucher" as "vu-cher"...nang paulit-paulit. Na-envision ko na may panaksak siya. Swear. $:-\$
