We had our Vietnam-Cambodia-Bangkok trip last month for 9 days.  Kasama sana ang Laos kaya lang gahol na sa oras kung isasama pa.
Here's our itinerary:

Day 1 Arrival at Ho Chi Minh Airport (night)
Day 2 Tacu Mountain (Tacu Cable Car), Sand Dunes and Fairy Stream
Day 3 Early morning trip going back to Ho Chi Minh
         Food trip and buy pasalubong at Ben Than Market Place
Day 4 Bus ride going to Siem Reap, dinner at Pub Street
Day 5 Ankor Tour, Night Market
Day 6 Bus ride going to Bangkok, Khaosan Road
Day 7 Group Tour Package - Floating Market and Elephant Ride, Elephant Show, Crocodile Show and
         Cultural Show
Day 8 Shopping at Pratunam Mall, DIY Grand Palace and the Temple of Emerald Buddha, W A T Pho
Day 9 Going back to Manila

^ Thanks for sharing sis! Almost the same tayo except that may additional 2 days kami ng friends ko Galing naexecute! Day 7 and Day 8 mo, nagawa ko na sa first travel ko to bangkok.. I dont know sa friends ko.

Sharing my recent SEA Trip Part 2. Thailand, Laos and Cambodia

Day 1- Arrival in Bangkok. Half-day Ayutthaya Tour. Overnight Travel to Vientiane thru Sleepers Train.
Day 2- Arrival in Vientiane. Whole day city tour. Travel back to Bangkok (same mode of transpo)
Day 3- Arrival Bangkok. Check-in Accom. Market/Malls.
Day 4 - Grand Palace. Wa+ Po. Khao San Road. Night Market.
Day 5 - Overland Travel. Bangkok to Siem Reap. Night Market/Pub Street.
Day 6 - Angkor Wa+. Travel back to Manila.

Question, for those who were able to pull-off their SEA trip, you think kid-friendly siya?  We haven't traveled without our 6 year-old daughter and I really want a SEA trip. If ever I push through, she'll be 7/8 years old na then.  Thanks!

Posting our itinerary for February, I would like to ask for your opinion:

Day 0:   MNL to HCM (Midnight)
Day 1:   Cu Chi Tunnels and Mekong Delta River Tour
Day 2:   Morning City Tour HCM, Bus HCM to PP
Day 3:   Phnom Penh City Tour, 10-11:00PM Giant Ibis night bus to Siem Reap
Day 4:   Siem Reap
Day 5:   Siem Reap, flight: REP - DMK 2145 hrs ( 9:45PM)
Day 6:   BKK
Day 7:   Luang Prabang / Yangon
Day 8:   Luang Prabang / Yangon
Day 9:   Luang Prabang / Yangon -> BKK
Day 10:   Bangkok Shopping
Day 11:   BKK - MNL (Midnight)

I'm torn between Luang Prabang or Yangon. Which is better? I'll probably be flying alone if I go to Luang Prabang. My friends prefer Yangon since flight times are better. No need to tour Bangkok as I have been to the area before (as well as Ayuthaya/Grand Palace etc) and I'm not really a fan of shopping.

Hi girls. Did some backreading and some heavy surfing about our upcoming trip and would like to share our rough itinerary. Comments would be much appreciated.

Day 0: MNL to HCM
       1: HCM city tour
       2: Cu Chi Tunnels
       3: Leave for PP in the morning; Arrive at PP in the afternoon; Start of
           PP tour- Killing Fields, Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum, Independence
           Monument; Dinner at Sisowath Quay
       4: Leave for SR in the morning; Dinner at Pub Street
       5: Angkor [textspeak!] (small circuit)
       6: Angkor [textspeak!] (big circuit)
       7: Leave for BKK in the morning
       8: Walking city tour
       9: Chatuchak+other malls/market
      10: Leave for MNL in the morning

Some questions:
1. Between the day and night trips between countries, mas ok ba to take the day trip? Inisip ko kasi to save time, pwedeng sa night trip kami. Pero baka kasi ma-miss namin ang scenery. Which would you guys recommend?
1. Recommended ba na pagsamahin in 1 day ang city tour+Cu Chi tunnels? Bitin ba ito o sakto lang?
2. If we arrive at PP around 2 or 3pm, feasible pa ba ang tour sa Killing Fields, Tuol Sleng, etc?
2. Kaya ba pagsamahin in 1 day ang walking city tour ng BKK + Ayutthaya?

Hello I hope nakahabol pa tong reply ko...More or less I spent 25k in my SEA trip for 9 days. Not included ang airfare.  Pero kasama na dito ang travel tax, terminal fee, meals, accommodation, fare at pasalubong.  Budget talaga. Sa experience ko, mas maganda ang me kasama kasi, nahahati sa inyo ang mga expenses like accommodation at pamasahe.  Mas gusto ko ang DIY. Kelangan lang talaga ang todong research.

Entry point namin is Malaysia then exit is Bangkok... From MY ano ba yung pinaka madaling destination na next country... planning to visit MY-TH-CAMBODIA... we consider budget din kasi so definitely kung saan mas tipid. hehe.

Initial plan kasi MY then Phuket-Krabi-Bangkok then Siem Riep tapos balik ng Bangkok ulit... by bus and ferry lahat... ok kaya yun? 10 days backpacking kami.

Finally! Natapos din our trip! Kababalik ko lang this morning from BKK.
Our itinerary:
Day 0: Arrival Ho Chi Minh
Day 1: Vietnam: Mekong River Tour (with other cultural whatever)
Day 2: Vietnam: Half Day Cu Chi Tunnel, Travel to Phnom Penh by Van/Bus
Day 3: Cambodia: Killing Fields,  Genocide Museum, Russian Market, Royal Palace, 11PM Night Bus to Siem Reap
Day 4: Cambodia: Angkor Temples (naka 13 lang kami -- Templed out na yung kasama ko)
Day 5: Cambodia: REST DAY! Woke up 10AM. Lunch, then stroll at the market, 9pm flight to BKK (slept at the airport)
Day 6: BKK > Krabi: 630AM flight to Krabi, 7 island Tour (Was able to swim with planktons!!!)
Day 7: Krabi: Phi phi island Tour
Day 8: Krabi > BKK: Jatujak (super hot in Bangkok!)
Day 9: BKK: River Kwai Trekking Tour and Tiger Temple
Day 10: BKK: Grand Palace (friend only -- as I have been there before), Platinum Mall -- 12mn flight to MNL

Super nice experience overall!

Depends on what you want to see. If 1 week, include na the other weekend (i.e. start Friday night, then end Sunday night -- gives you a total 9 whole days for the tour, like what I did with ours).

Bus / Land Travel -- yup, the bus ride from Phnom Penh to Siem Reap for me was one of the hardest part of our trip. We even got the Giant Ibis Bus -- but turns out sobrang matagtag pala. I will never do it again, if ever, I will get a bus na lang with reclining seats as mas sanay ako to sleep seating on a bus.

Diversify your itinerary as well-- my friend (I dont know if siya lang) but he was super templed out already on a 1 day Angkor temple tour, and doesnt want to see another temple after it -- ayaw na to visit Ayuthaya in Thailand. Since we went to Royal Palace na in Phnom Penh, parang iisa na rin sa paningin niya the Grand Palace in Bangkok. Hay naku.

Bring lots of meds-- sumakit tummies namin in Phnom Penh when we ate at Tuktuk Cafe -- talagang ginapang lang namin to finish the Cambodia leg (KFC na lang kumakain kasi takot kami to eat even in good dining places) -- maybe cause of it din was after we ate, Killing Fields ang kasunod which is sobrang mabigat sa dibdib.

Parang nagdadalawang isip tuloy ako because my husband is not so much into historical sites and temples. But I am. Hmm.. will have to research more so I can diversify our itinerary.

You can do our itinerary as it was well-diversified.

We had historical sites, culture, temples, palaces, beach, tiger temple, elephant ride, rivers, waterfall, market, food trip -- which both suited me and my friend.

looks like it's really minimum of 9 days noh? It got me thinking tuloy.. upon seeing some cashcashpinoy deals also, kasi we have young kids pa, parang di ko pa maimagine na maiwan namin for that long (this would be the first time if ever)... I saw some deals/travel agencies offering Bangkok-SiemReap package tour only, wala nang Vietnam, kaya 6-7days lang.

Okay pa din kaya yun? Or madaming mamimiss talaga if we scratch off Vietnam?
