^nope. volunteer work ang pagiging mod except if the mod is also a summit media employee. but mods are not paid to moderate. no allowance, no pier diem, no goodie bag, as in NADA.

for sheer love lang of the community talaga yun.

kaya pala yung ibang mods (not particularly in GT) maiinit ang ulo pag binabanatan cause wala pala silang remuneration...ganon!

kahit naman siguro may remuneration, pag binanatan ka naman ng dahil lang sa ginawa mo yung trabaho mo, nakakapag init ng ulo noh!

sis freeswan for me, may sense lahat ng posts nya (kung nabasa ko nga lahat, hehe) tsaka nung newbie ako kala ko talaga isa sya sa mods..

yung saktong moderator lang, we as girltalkers should carry our own responsibility, since they wont be receiving anything for doing this, wag naman natin sila pahirapan..

ay sana rin wag yun oa na alam lahat pero pikon naman. yung magbubuhos ng sama ng loob sa ibang thread where theyre popular coz they got flamed by one post :p better pa na they tap or privately send invites nalang to those who they think can unbiasedly moderate the thread.

hehe magbuhos ba ng opinion. :p concerned lang.

We are now calling for and screening volunteer moderators. (See this post.) We cannot impose upon the members you have recommended here, but you may encourage them to volunteer if you wish. Thanks!

^FN administrator, don't impose on members but invite them. as you can see in this thread, the members suggested names because they know these people are objective and helpful in their posts here. if the "nominated" members don't accept your invite, then, look for other possible candidates.

kasi what if somebody volunteered to be a moderator and it turned out na hindi naman siya respected ng community or may mga naka-away na siya in the past? the thing is, the members know sino ang may history dito sa GT that's why alam din nila kung sino ang posibleng maging mods.

example ko lang, ha. i am the first moderator in the smart parenting forum. when the editorial team started looking for possible mods, i suggested to them who are the possible candidates. sila kasi yung mahilig magreport ng violations (stickler for rules), and yung alam kong may malasakit sa community.

the editorial team sent them a PM and invited them to be mods so mods na sila ngayon. yung isang naging mod, eventually, she asked to be removed as mod kasi hindi niya kaya yung load ng moderating so member na lang siya uli.

so it's important to hear what gtalkers have to say, especially in this thread.

I don't understand bakit walang token man lang or free mags/issues from summit?

after all, dami kayang advertisers. like Goldilocks, etc.

even in other summit websites, wala ding bayad or even token ang mga mods. i should know. mod ako ng SP.

the freebies from advertisers are usually divided among the staff of a certain magazine or website. wala pang nakakaisip na bigyan ng regalo ang mga mods.

Might I suggest that moderators also get some kind of pay for their work? Kahit freebies lang or gifts in kind.
