^ Yes!

Sa tinagal ko naman sa odesk, I didn't have problems with that.

It's still worth double checking pa rin kung tama ang work diary mo.

mga sis have you tried logging in using the same account and working on two hourly contracts? walang magawa kasi ang aking kapatid, simple lang naman pinapagawa ng employer ko, research lang. pwede ba yun?

thank you freelancer_babe for leading me to this thread. been trying to post sa odesk thread since last week pero nagloloko pa din.

anyways, I'm a new odesker. Nag sign in ako last February 10. And thank God nagkawork ako ng Feb 12. I have a couple of questions, sana okay lang po na dito magpost.

- sa 1st work ko, $4/hr rate ko, now na nagaapply ako sa ibang jobs, dapat ba balik ako sa $1/hr or a little higher than that?
- how does "fixed rate" works? pano mo malalaman na magsstart ka na? sa odesk pa din ba kayo maguusap or sa private emails? meron kase mga fixed rate na pinapasend sakin yung private email ko at dun daw kami magusap.
- once finished na ang hourly work, pano na? in progress pa din kase yung project. sino ba ang mageend nun? and how long bago ka magalala na hindi ka tatakbuhan ng employer? kase kahapon ko pa sinubmit yung finished task pero until now wala pa sagot.

sorry ang daming tanong.. excited-worried-happy all rolled into one lang.

thanks for the time. sana may makasagot.

^ you're welcome sis. congratulations sa new job mo. :-)

- sa 1st work ko, $4/hr rate ko, now na nagaapply ako sa ibang jobs, dapat ba balik ako sa $1/hr or a little higher than that?

Better work at that rate. That's how much you are worth. Kung kailangan mong bumaba ng rate it shouldn't be too far from $4/hr - siguro mga $3.50 or $3/hr... but not $1/hr.

- how does "fixed rate" works?

"fixed rate" is fixed price for a project. For example ang project is to design a website; kung nakuha mo ang job at $500 then you'll be paid at that rate which is commonly paid in installments => upfront, after finishing one or more milestones, end of the project.

yung mga articles na 200 words at $2 each, those are examples of fixed priced jobs. you don't need the odesk team client anymore.

beware of "fixed rates" jobs though. Sa akin it's more of a disadvantage kasi pwede ka ring takbuhan ng client, if you haven't setup any upfront fees. May tendency rin silang magpagawa ng marami which could be out of the scope of your job.

- pano mo malalaman na magsstart ka na?

you get an email from odesk that says "assignment started", "you're hired" or something like that (sorry, tagal na akong di naghahanap ng bagong client). I hope other sisses here could give a more accurate reply.

pwede. Most clients are comfortable sending you emails than logging in to odesk and send messages through that platform. A lot of clients prefer chat over email rin. I have encountered one na mas gusto nya ang voice chat.

- once finished na ang hourly work, pano na? in progress pa din kase yung project. sino ba ang mageend nun? and how long bago ka magalala na hindi ka tatakbuhan ng employer? kase kahapon ko pa sinubmit yung finished task pero until now wala pa sagot.

Ask the client for more work? Baka meron?

Or inform your client to end the project. Kung hindi na sya responsive, you can end the project yourself.

Wait until about 2 days for follow up - send ka ng follow up email, baka napunta lang sa spam. For some clients it could take up to a week or two pa, if they are too busy.

on my experience sa fixed rate, we talked using odesk mail pero meron isang employer na hiningi yung skype acct ko for the interview and hired me. Pag hourly naman sis no worries ka sa payment kasi kahit hindi e end yung contract mo as long as my log ka sa work diary mo pwede mo e bill yun (yun ang pagkakaintindi ko ah) unlike sa fixed rate na you need to wait for your employer na bumalik para sa payment mo like what happened to me a few days ago. I haven't heard from my employer for 4 days ata hindi daw kasi sya nakapag online

Thank you freelancer_babe and seTHer.  :)

^^ actually sis, meron na nga sya follow up work na hinihintay ko isend nya kaso di pa nga sya sumasagot kung nareceived na ba nya yung files na sinend ko or what. haay.. excited lang siguro ako kase first work ko nga sa odesk. sabi nga ni h2b, weekends naman daw. baka nagrerelax din sila.  ;D

^ meron kase ako 3 na inaaplyan na fixed rate pero nagbigay sila email add nila then odesk closed the job posting  kase inaappropriate daw. kaya di ko alam pano magdedeal sa mga fixed rate jobs kase nga wala odesk team app.

pwede ba to?gusto ko din malaman.

sissies, tanong ko lang, pano magbigay ang mga employer ng bonus? nag - aadd ba sila ng time o parang may option sila to give additional pay o outside odesk sila nagbibigay? pano yun? my employer said she will give me one, pag mataas daw ang score ko sa odesk. hehe

@saskia,
Intayin mo lang ang reply. Baka lang busy or nakabakasyon client mo.

@smartstarter,
Mahirap yan, baka mamaya masuspend ka ng odesk (and forfeit any earnings) kung sakaling mahuli. It's pretty much a solid proof na hindi ikaw ang gumawa ng work dahil SIMULTANEOUS ang pag log sa odesk ng dalawang hourly jobs. odesk does not allow other people other than the owner of the account to do the tasks.

@swit_squiggle,
Yung bonuses can be given WITHIN the odesk platform. May option lang doon na makikita ang client to "give bonus" to the freelancer - if he/she wishes. The client can just look up the help pages naman for step-by-step instructions on how to do that. Hindi na kailangan ng outside arrangement and there's also  no need to add time.

Pero wag mong asahan ang bonus. There's no guarantee it will be given.

sisses, meron nagooffer sakin, $60 = 2,000 comments sa youtube (create 10 google accounts tapos each account 200 comments). any comment, any video basta mataas ang page rank. whachathink??

@ freelancerbabe, hehe..thanks for the info sis. hindi talaga ako makapagreply dun sa kabilang thread. galing maging consultant sis ano? hehe..marami pa akong kakaining bigas at mag-aral pa akong mabuti for that and continuing education din.  hehe.

@saskia, pano ba naman sis, ang lalim ng tagalog. hehe. verified ba sis ang account and may mga pay-outs na siya? meron nagoffer sa akin probationary VA for $80, tapos gusto ko may upfront payment  sila kasi hindi nga guaranteed ang fix contract, ay ayaw? inoferan ako pagkatapos ayaw sa terms, wala pa naman syang feedback and pay-out na nagagawa. ngek!! ayoko nga. bahala sila. hehe

@swit_squiggle,

@sether,

@ swit_squiggle- i know! OA yung lalim ng tagalog and mali pa yung iba minsan. kakaloka talaga yun. verified naman yung account para sa googel accounts kaso parang not worth it.

question mga sis, 1 hour na pc work, how much yung allotted nyo na rate sa kuryente nun? para may basis ako magkano ba yung rate per hour para macover yung expenses.

tia!
