Advice ko sayo sis hanap ka muna ng work sa oDesk. Pag meron nakahit part time and you think mag didiretso yung job, or if you luckily landed a fulltime job, saka ka magresign sa work mo. Ako almost 1 year nag Odesk na part time before nagresign sa office work ko. No regrets! My Odesk job pays thrice as much as my previous office job.

Ako din mga sis, I am currently working full-time kasi nag-offer talaga ng full-time job yung boss ko. Paid yung holidays and may 13th month. Tempting man magfull-time sa oDesk, mahirap magtake ng risk lalo na kung wala ka pang nahahanap na work. Medyo tight ang competition ngayon eh.

joining!  hi girls, ask ko lang wala kasi ako background sa I.T so is it possible to get a job from odesk? kahit data entry jobs lang. i mean pure encoding lang talaga, parang feeding lang. but iniisip ko naman, paano yun magwork, for sure need ng software. nakapag try na ba kayo ng pure data entry lang?  thanks!

Hi! You don't need to have background in IT naman kasi bukod dun, may mga data entry jobs, writing jobs. Or kung magaling ka sa graphics, pwede din. You can get jobs as easy as copy-pasting. As in madali lang. Actually, sa data entry ako nagsimula. Ngayon, hindi na puro data entry yung ginagawa ko. You'll learn new skills. Good luck!

Tama ka sis freelancebuddy.Ako kasi wala din akong background sa IT.
But i landed to be a VA and up to now i'm still working with the same boss
for more than a year narin. Minsan maraming project yung boss ko. Minsan madali lang.
Kya minsan nkakapag freelance pa ako sa ibang boss. Ok lang din sa boss ko yung ganun
as long as when he needs me i need to be available. The pay is good. And it is also fun and a very good learning experience working in Odesk.

Marami na ring tutorial sa youtube that i used sa mga projects namin ng boss ko.

My advice sa mga newbies sa Odesk. Be Patient, Be eager,hungry to learn more, & WATCH YOUTUBE TUTORIALS

^what's a drupal developer? ang swerte mo naman long term yung project mo. Once lang ako nagtry sa odesk, telemarketer pa eh mahina talaga ako sa sales, $7 usd rate ko nun per hour pero ang hirap ng ginagawa amp.

i've been in Odesk since 2007. lurker ako sa mga infos ni gt elheym and other odeskers that time.
Nag-try ako Nov that year then luckily may kumuha sa akin part time. research and data entry lang so no problem coz i have a office work sa Ortigas that time. 

The following year, a prospective client has offered me a full time job. he has just visited the Phils. for business purposes early that year. Sayang at di pa nya ako employee that time. Nakapagmeet sana kami. 

Because of the offer, nagbye-bye na ako sa Ortigas and went full-time. Nagkaroon pa ako ng ibang clients that year and I'm thankfull kasi up to now eh active pa rin sila. 

With regards sa rate, mababa lang ang rate sa mga admin task and I'm glad kasi sila na mismo ang nag-iincrease ng hourly pay ko aside from bonuses. But next to that, sure na dagdag na additional work for me. Its ok coz I've learned alot from them and compare sa office employee, malaki ang difference sa salary. 

I've started my weekly working limit to 40hrs and now, i've reached my new record of 100hrs three weeks ago. 

So for those newbies and existing oDesk providers, I guess advise ko lang ay sipag at tiyaga, love your work, be responsible sa commitments, don't be shy to ask and clarify instructions, save for the future and don't forget to pay your SSS, PhilHealth at Pag-ibig

mga sis may nakapag try na ba sa inyo na magwithdraw thru a local bank like metrobank? how was the exchange rate and mabilis ba?
until now kasi i am using paypal and unionbank eon. everytime na nagwiwithdraw ako ng wednesday morning at 8am dumarating na sya sa eon ng thursday evening at around 7pm so one day processing lang and wala panh fee. sa exchange rate naman sa paypal is 41 something.
sa local bank kaya mabilis and mas mataas? and may fee ba? tia

^ I think it depends kung ano ang nature ng work. kapag virtual assistant, usually during office hours nang clients. If IT, research, article writing, etc., flexible ang oras nila.

Hi sis! I'll try to answer some of your queries. Dati kasi sa metrobank ako naglalabas ng pera. May bank fee na 76.xx pesos. Normally pag wednesday ka nagwithdraw, friday night and sometimes saturday morning ang dating niya. Ngayon nagshift na ko sa local fund transfer kasi walang fee pag sa bpi mo ni-link at mas mataas ang exchange rate ng odesk kaysa paypal.

^yes sa bpi wala ngang fee unlike sa ibang banks kaya nag-open ako ng BPI Easy Saver Savings Account, walang maintaining balance & 250 lang ang fee pag-open...

^ I use LFT thru BPI too. mabilis dumating ang transfer, sa akin mga 3 days lang. No additional fees except sa .99 odesk fee... I love odesk talaga. My boss just gave me a bonus, umabot sa 6 digits in pesos...
