homemade dog food

background: naconfine sa vet clinic yung dog namin for more than a month because of mange. basta namula and nasugat buong katawan nya. now na andito na sya sa bahay, the vet told us not to feed ready-made dog foods sa kanya kasi allergic daw.

he recommends rice daw and beef. problem is, hindi kaya maging malnourished sya if yun lang lagi ibibigay ko.

anyone here who can recommend other food servings?

yung classic na saw dust from monterey.. 

gigisahin ko yun then hahalo ko sa sinaing. yung rice with ground corn (yung patuka sa manok) para tipid and mabigat sa tiyan. ok naman para sa mga large dogs ko and tipid pa para sa akin. 30-40 pesos per kilo lang yung saw dust tapos yung ground corn mga half kilo which is 7pesos then half kilo lang ng cheap rice.

nung una medyo alangan nga ako sa nutrition pero yung saw dust is a combination of beef and pork parts, may mga durog na bones which is source din ng calcium for them. high carbo naman from rice and corn. yung iba ginagawa eh, they bake it, parang muffins. di ko nga lang alam yung recipe. if gusto mo lagyan mo ng veggies like monggo or carrots. sabay mo lang sa sinaing.

buti naexplain mo about sawdust, ive been reading about it sa ibang forum and all the while i find it ironic since im thinking of the excess wood na nakukuha ng mga carpenters sa kahoy.nevertheless, i never tried it.

will buy sawdust na din, meron ba neto sa ordinary palengke para magpapabili na lang ako? good idea yung corn, at least pwede ko ialternate yung rice sa mais. will also try monggo.

corn is a controversial ingredient as some dogs tend to be allergic to them. baka ma-trigger ang skin inflammation ng dogs mo sa corn.

regarding sawdust, lagi akong nauubusan sa supermarket nito.

sabi ng vet ko, huwag daw lagyan ng mga pampa-lasa kung magbibigay ng homemade. if anything, just put salt. una, para hindi maging picky eater yung dog. ikalawa, there are human ingredients na hindi pwede sa dogs like onions, fish sauce, shrimp paste etc.

i read sa mga forums na yung ibang pet owners they give diced veggies like brocolli stalk, carrots, sayote sa dogs nila. meron ako nabasa na article from the US na it's supposed to decrease cancer risk din sa dogs.

hay naku mga sis nagamit ko na sawdust. pareserve na lang kayo sa monterey kasi nga madami na din gumagamit niyan. pero sa mga alaga ko walang epekto!ginisa lang sa oil tapos hinalo ko sa dog food ayun sayang lang effort ko d kinain ng mga bruha!kakainis talaga.gusto ko na nga tikman bakit ayaw kainin mabango naman.at tama kayo wag lagyan ng pampalasa kasi pag nasanay ayaw kumain ng walang timpla

yung mama ko may binibili syang ground beef sa isang supermarket..tapos parang i-aadobo nya yung pagkakaluto..yun na yung dog food nila..kaso kinakasawaan din nila agad...

according to my vet dapat lagi din may fruits and veggies ang mga pets, but sometimes gaya ng tao picky din ang mga pets pagdating s veggies, kaya madalas ill cook them first and hinahalo s konting meat

We are planning to feed our dog homemade dog food na boiled meat and veggies. We were thinking pwede kaya na iprepare at lutuin na ang meat and veggies good for 1 week tapos init-initin na lang every time papakainin siya?

favorite nung pinaka-mataba kong shih tzu ay talong, labanos at okra. as in binibigyan ko sya ng isang buong talong tapos dadalhin nya at uubusin nya, ang matititra lang dun ay yung tangkay. 

pati pala ampalaya favorite din nila. 

pero fruits ayaw nila kainin, vegetables lang.

^oo nga sis, kakatuwa said talaga pakainan nila pati kanin sa sahig. haha parang sinighot lahat.  yung katawan ng mga shih tzu ko iba iba parang mga tao din kasi may mataba at slim lang. pero pinaka-cute yung mataba kasi sarap nyang i-hug. OT nko. 

ayaw ng mga dogs ko yung masyadong masabaw siguro kasi maiiksi lang nose nila nalubog sa sabaw. hehe

parang ok yang saw dust, good alternative, so kahit pala wag na ako mag dog food no kasi mas mahal, bibili kasi ako ng chow by next year hehe

i used to feed my dogs with sawdust. may monterey kasi sa gate ng village namin. so very convenient bumili at magpareserve.

napaka-ironic! ngayon ko lang nalaman na di pwede sa kanila mga seasonings like fish sauce. pati onions?

iniisteak ko kasi yung sawdust. kaya lang nagsawa na si aloha. so i tried other recipes. medyo mapili sa food itong isang aso ko. well, the others would eat almost anything served to them. pero iba talaga si aloha.

when we moved back to cavite, tinry ko lang patikim sa kanya yung malunggay. in fairness, type nya! kaya ayon, all the other dogs in the house would eat either the dog food we bought from the supermarket or whatever sawdust recipe, then for aloha, rice + sawdust + kung anumang gulay pwedeng sabawan.

Hello.

Back when I still had time to make him food, I used to give my dog boiled shredded chicken and mashed vegetables (carrots, leafy greens) with oatmeal (not the quick-cook kind) twice a day. I mixed this with 1tbsp coconut oil and apple cider vinegar. Didn't follow any recipe, just made it up. Heh.
