Does your Yaya/Helper really follow your instructions?

Nope. My mom wakes up around 5 am and before she left for the office at 7, she instructed our maid who's been with us for a week already, to cook us breakfast. When she came back to have lunch at 11 (that's also the time my sister and I woke up), our maid had not cooked anything, and her reason was that she was waiting for my sister and I to wake up. Instead of cooking, she had been sleeping. 

She's okay though. So far, I have no major complaints with her cause she's really hardworking.

yes she does and she is highly efficient...there are times i don't need to tell her because she already knows what to do.

pinkpotato, tagal na ni ate Gigi sa inyo! Galing! Etong si new helper ay ok pa naman. So far so good. Better cook than yeye. Cleaner looking than yeye. Mas OC sa house than yeye (hate niya ang falling hair!). Mababaw ang kaligayahan. Ang pinaka flaw lang na nakikita ko ay hindi marunong mag budget ng pera. Since she started with us last March 23, nakaka 4 na bale na siya ng sweldo niya hahaha. Tinago ko ang passport kasi traumatic experience yung kay yeye. But the best part is that she has a very good relationship with K. Naka monitor naman ako sa ip cam palagi and at random times puro sila kilitian and tawanan. Tipong nakakainggit na. She calls me ate and nag po at opo siya sa akin. I'm older than her ng mga 5yrs. Yeye was 2yrs older than me. Pag napagsasabihan ko itong new helper, hindi sumisimangot.

may posted instructions ka pa rin na pinapafollow sa kanya? gusto ko yang ayaw sa falling hair ha. hahaha. malinis siguro sa bahay yan.

yung yaya ng isang friend ko, magbibilin sya na ganito gawin mo today, etc etc, tapos si yaya ang gagawin lang kung anong sinabe. tapos uupo na. kaya kailangan sinusulat nya isa isa ang gagawin for the day.

ako,  i drafted my instructions or the sequence of household chores suited to our schedules at home and everytime i will have a new househelp i give it to the new HH  for her  to follow na lang. kasi ang newly hired na HH madalas hindi alam kung [textspeak!] ang uunahing trabaho sa bahay. meron akong HH kilos lang ng kilos sa bahay pero wala namang sense ang mga niliinis nya o inaayos kasi hindi naman yun ang dapat nyang unahing gawin. this is how i drafetd it and this is on a daily basis ... we wake up at 5:30am and the kids eat at 6am and  they're all  off to school at 6:30AM comes back at 12nn or  3pm . homework period at 5pm then  eat dinner at 6pm and sleep at 8 or 9pm. by the way i do the cooking at home (lunch and dinner).

Househelper's Work Schedule:

1. cook breakfast,  boil water in the kettle.
2. set the table.
3. sweep the floor downstairs and at the frontyard.
4. do the laundry.
5. sweep the floor upstairs and fix the beddings and other stuff in the room.
6. wash the dishes
7. HHer's nap time/tv time
8. get all the laundry outside and fold it.
9. cook rice
10. set the table
11. dinner time
12. wash the dishes and sweep the floor again downstairs.
13. 7:30pm onwards HH is done with all the chores and she could choose to sleep early or watch TV


i think giving them  instructions verbally sometimes doesn't work, so better be sure than sorry i posted this in front of our ref.

pinkpotato, nako dear! nung first bale niya, before we left iyan papuntang SG kasi 2 months siyang walang work. So need ng pera ng family niya bago siya umalis. She has 4 kids. Second and third bale niya nung April and May nakalimutan ko na ang reason. June na bale niya ay dahil sa tuition ng mga anak.

Yup meron pa din akong naka post na chart na things to do niya. Updated version na nga lang kasi wala na yung 'maglagay ng cream sa peklat ni K' hahaha Hindi na madali mag bite marks si K ngayon. Oo malinis siya sa bahay. Kaloka naman yung kung ano lang yung sinabi ay yun lang ang gagawin hahaha Pero may mga ganon nga talaga. Ako din kasi maya't maya ang tawag sa bahay at naging palautos ako. Lesson learned from yeye na super kampante. Pero di naman ako mataray. Steady lang. I just learned how to set boundaries. Kaka trauma pala kasi ang yaya woes!

Red Rack 21, Same tayo Although the list I have is in another format. Meron 3 tables. One is for her things to do daily. Second ay for once a week. Third ay mga To-Do na puwedeng twice a month. Pinaka mahaba ang list ng Things to Do Daily. Then she's required to put a check mark each time she finishes a task. Ok lang sa akin na may x-mark. Goes to show her honesty. Then at the end of each day, well randomly, chinecheck ko kung nagawa nga ba niya ang mga naka check sa list. But on top of that, I do my regular calls from time to time when I'm at work (to remind ang vitamins, milk, ano kinain at ano lulutuin for merienda for example, etc). Apart from monitoring them via ip camera.

before i had a manual na ultimong what type of product to use when cleaning eh naka-indicate. if nakalimutan i tell them nakalagay sa manual. now since my maids are fairly efficient, i let them do their own diskarte. I just give them a general picture on what things I want them to accomplish within the day.

I actually made a list / schedule of our house helper. Aba, after three (3) days, pinagupit-gupit sa bata. Saulo na daw nya ;-)

Effort ko pa naman! :-)

I am so glad that I am getting rid of this katulong who is so matigas ang ulo. Hindi ko alam kung naiintindihan nya ang mga instructions ko. Kung nakakaintindi ng tagalog o hindi. May problema sa pandinig o sadyang nagta-t@ng@-t@ngahan lang. ;-) I did make a list of what to do's and dont's pero hindi pa rin sumusunod. Ginagawa pa rin niya in her own way mga bagay-bagay. Sa simpleng pag segregate ng nabubulok at di nabubulok na palagi naming pinag-aawayan, bibigyan ako ng katwiran na "ate kapag naman inilagay ko na sa lagayan ng basura, saka ko hinihiwalay eh." ang sa akin, may dalawa pa tayong trash-cans? Haller. Katwirang balikuko, basta makapag disobey lang.

It is my first time na sumuko sa yaya, di ko na kaya. Kaya, tsupi. di ko na babawiin ang pamasahe, I want a peace of mind!

Sometimes, the helpers can become your best friends or the second mom. She can play geometry dash lite with you or take care of you.
