I think that if this thing is getting to be a constant affair of heartaches and frustrations coupled with a daily dose of physical and emotional torture, then this thing you have going on will never give you the clarity you guys are aiming for. My point is, ... What's the point of sticking around, Wag Alamin?

The Right Decisions aren't suppose to be difficult to come by. There's a simple series of Q and A that determines where your decisions will lead you to. If say your decisions are causing more problems, causing more complications than it does anybody good, then sure enough your way towards correcting a fault is messed up.

Let's take a look at your Penance in particular. You may feel that you deserve to take all these punishments because you did cause all of these, but is it helping your husband? Is it helping your marriage? Will all the battery make up for what you've done? Or is it simply driving your husband crazier and crazier thinking about how he was betrayed. Crazier and crazier thinking about the fact that he can't undo it anymore. Even crazier knowing that despite all of that, he still NEEDS you, wants you, but since he is hurt he has to take it out on you. What should drive him over the edge is that he still cares but he can't help but hurt you as if he doesn't. Then it all points back to your cheating. .... Which in the final analysis, can't be undone anymore.

Then there's this threat of him killing himself. And that hurts you big time because if he ends up killing himself then it all goes back to your fault for betraying him. So you are stuck. It's either you live a life of constant abuse, or a widow whose husband committed suicide because his wife cheated him. ... The problem here is THIS: Those aren't your only Options.

I think that when you've crossed lines that aren't suppose to be crossed, all hell breaks lose and try as you might, relationships can be seldom salvaged. The more you try to save it the more things get complicated, the more the problems pile up. Before you know it, spin-off problems start emerging and like a fatal disease what very often kills the patients are the complications of the disease and not the disease itself.

So you probably thought as a form of penance you'll sacrifice your own pride, happiness, freedom, and even health just to pay for your mistakes. You probably thought getting battered physically and emotionally would cleanse you of your sins and maybe save your marriage. It's a gallant stand, really. It surely means you are a strong woman willing to sacrifice her own happiness. But if sticking around would only cause the aggrieved party to turn into a frustrated crying monster then what you are doing is only leading him into a world of more pain. You are actually leading him into a pit. Simply put, Being Strong doesn't always mean staying put. Especially when your presence will only cause further problems.

Had your husband been stronger and more determined like a lot of other Brutes ;) he would have thrown you out, asked you to leave, asked for an annulment/divorce/a refund ;) . That would have been wrong too but it would have been much better than keeping you for Beating Purposes. Maybe things would have been less complicated that way. If say he realizes that he is willing for forgive you, then it will come after you two have had the timely break. If say you realize that you really did him wrong, it will come from the pain you inflicted onto yourself and not via the constant beating you are taking. Nor that constant mental torture he experiences because of his insecurities.

My point is, at this stage in your marriage and union, you two are NOT good for each other. Together, you will only cause more harm to each other than any good. At this point in your marriage when one cheated and one plans to take it out on her through punishments or suicide, then you know you've hit a fork in the road and the only way to live through this one is to choose separate paths.

You are the one who started this, right? So the smartest thing to do right now is to be Strong and also Wise. Put your efforts in coming up with a settlement which is likely to be a separation, trial or otherwise, which will give you two the space that you need. Space to grieve all by your lonesome is good. Space to be frustrated without taking anybody along the tailspin. It'll be sad for sure, but sometimes a person deals with frustrations better alone.

In the process, try to ensure that he doesn't kill himself. If by any chance the wrist slashing he did resulted in nothing more serious than flesh wounds, then he probably is more determined to get in your head than actually snuff himself. Guys are more likely to shoot themselves in the mouth or hang themselves than slash their wrist. It's suicidal women who slash themselves more. Sorry for sounding so insensitive, but that is true. :)

If you feel that you want/need to save your marriage, then keep in mind that the longer you two hang onto each other the more crimes you two commit to yourselves. The lesser your chances of saving your marriage and the more the chances you two have of killing each other, or drive each other nuts.

My point is Wag Alamin, there is the Right Way to be Strong. And the Right Way to correct a problem. If you are really determined to do Penance, then I say "saving your husband", "saving yourself", and "saving what's left of your lives" is currently the best Penance for you to work on.

If I may call a Spade a Spade: "What you did has the potential to end your marriage". That's it. But it doesn't mean that it's the end your lives and the end for the happiness you two deserve.

i want to thank u all for the reply.  ;)

last friday, after i posted yung last na away namin, i texted him telling him na "wag ka sana magalit, hindi ako nakikipag away ha? ok lang ba na uwi ka muna sa inyo para makapag isip ka? dont worry, lahat ng gagawin ko, ill let u know. kung naisip mo na gusto mo pa ko makasama, buong puso kitang tatanggapin. pero pag narealize mong ayaw mo na, then let me know para makapag ready ako to talk to ur parents." and his only reply was "[textspeak!] ok".
then ako naman, i went to mall para marelax ng konti at malibang naman. then he texted me.."babe may prayer meeting tayo mamya. i love u"
we attended the prayer meeting.. interested yung topic kasi about "the divine revelations of hell by mary k baxter". we were both focus on the topic. then when we were saying the closing prayer, sobrang emotional talaga ako the way our pastor say the prayer.

I'm glad to hear that you're both attending prayer meetings. It is definitely the best way to restore the relationship, for both of you to be healed spiritually, before anything else gets better, coz everything else will follow. God is, and forever will be the greatest Healer. So keeping close to God as a couple will surely lead you both to complete reconciliation.

Siguro you and your husband should pray together, aloud, before you sleep at night. And stay prayerful throughout the day, even during times when your husband is having outbursts, silently, in your heart, say a prayer. God works wonders!

So just hang in there. I know in my previous post I advised you to approach your parents for help, but that is before I knew that you are involved in a church. Whatever you're doing now, you're on the right track, so stay on this same track. Pray together and go to church together as a couple.

I agree also sa suggestion ng hubby mo to embrace him warmly pag nasa stage sya na ganun. Iba din ang reassurance ng physical touch. Tinuro yan sa Marriage Encounter, na when you're at the height of anger, try to hold hands, and somehow it works (well at least for most of us), gradually nare-reduce yung inis or galit.

You said it perfectly, nothing is impossible with God.. Amen to that!  ;) :D

hello sisses! i'm also guilty on this.  wala lang talaga akong mapaghingan ng aking nararamdaman, gusto ko lang kahit pano eh gumaan ito. im married for 6 years and with 1 son,...I had an affair with my ex since 2008, he's in abroad for three years, and we had our constant communication via internet and phone. He's now here in PI for a month vacation, he visited me and gave me my fave perfume.  And as usual, still the feelings are mutual. He invited me to his house and we have s*x.  All the while I thought I was really his true love, but one time he texted me that he had already a GF. Of course, I was shocked, felt numb and hopeless.

ang tanong, mahal na mahal ka ba niya?  is he willing to help you go through the process of annulment? napagusapan niyo na ba ang possibility kung naging kayo talaga? pinaghahandaan niyo na ba ang real concerns and not only your emotions?  Pray sis, pray and pray.

If youll be strong enough to stand still despite of betrayals and pain caused by your husband.. if you can keep your self values and be able to show your husband your best worth compared to his mistress then consider yourself winning the battle. yun ang pinakamagandang ganti.. ang ipakita sa sinumang nanakit na ang sinaktan nila just became a better person , better than ever. Because of them.

halatang-halata sa comment ng ibang mga lalaki dito (or isa lang siguro with different loginIDs), masyadong personal, masyadong pa-know-it-all-effect, pa-intellectual, masyadong judgmental, vindictive,  walang empathy, hindi pwedeng i-argue ang sasabihin..  kung psychologist ka, aren't you supposed to be in your office busy dealing with your patients if you're any good at all?  too much time in your hands eh? pati usapang ganito patulan ba at makipag-debate? Don't you got a girl to take care of?

and someone who addresses someone as a "sinner" has some big issues..  news flash, all of us are sinners! yabang! judgmental!

and correct this is supposed to be a support group, not for the actual sin! we don't condone the sin itself... we hate the sin.. we support those who are humble and human and are remorseful! they need help bakit kelangang tapak-tapakan pa... this is femalenetwork..  this is how women talk! ... this is the purpose of this thread... females supporting females...   not the sins..  but the getting up after falling!  helpful males are welcome..  chauvinists may feel free to look for other threads like celebrity gabfest or recipes...

napansin mo rin pala cristeen? siguro yung iba natatakot lang na magcomment sa iisang (supposedly) person na ito dahil umiiwas mabara..youre right...kung wala rin siyang maipapayong matino at ang gagawin is to condemn the posters eh shift na lang siya sa ibang topic...haha!

on topic: nakita ko na niyaya kang magdate ng crush mo (nga ba) ..naku talagang ganon feeling natin kaya natin pero pag nariyan na mahirap tanggihan..ano ba naman...he likes you..you like him..ano pa bang dapat pagusapan UNLESS may kinatatakutan ka..like me natatakot akong gumawa ng mali kasi alam kong kahit di alam ng husband ko may ISANG nakakaalam ng lahat, right? my two cents po.

lahat ng tao may potential mag cheat kahit pa perfect yung partner nila. boy or girl ka man, basta may tamang attention, tamang timing, tamang circumstances para gawin ang maling maling bagay. cheating is never right.

although sad to say that cheating is everywhere, my dad cheated on my mom, my husband has a first wife who cheated on him and left him, i cheated on my exbf/exfiance  to be with my now husband.

Can I say that cheat happens like sh!t happens?

pero naniniwala ako na may mga taong mali ang pinili pakasalan, and kung mali ang taong pinakasalan mo, ano will you just be trapped in an unhappy marriage for the rest of your life?
