what's the best, most economical way to call the philippines from the US??.. hindi pwede skype kase wala sila internet.  i see a lot of ads unmilmitalk, sarimanok, startec and other phone services.. ano ba pinaka ok?? as of now, we call using our landline phone service and napapansin ko medyo mahal na din eh. it's 13.9 cents/min.. meron pa kayang mas makakamura ako??

u can still use SKYPE kahit wala silang internet. mas mura yun -- or para magka-internet sila, they can use their phone as their modem -- may instant internet connection na sila.

^Puede sis, but of course, you will need to purchase Skype credits to make pc-to-phone calls.  Current Skype call rates from the US to the Philippines is around $0.23 vat inclusive.

We have a cable, internet and phone service in one, it's from Time Warner. We only pay 19.99 for international calls on top of whole bill. I can call anytime, yun nga lang, I can only call landlines. I can call anywhere in the world.

^ Yes sis. They are the ones who will have the Magic Jack, not you. They install it on their PC and once they turn on the program (much like how you turn on Yahoo Messenger), the Philippine landline will become a US number.

So when they call you in the US, a local number will appear, depending on what area code they pick. There's no need for you to buy it since you have US landline na.

I use AT&T Worldwide phone card. It's 10cents a minute pag landline, less pag cellphone.
I call a number of people in Pinas so the magic jack won't really be sulit for me.
