FIRST FLIGHT NI BABY 2

I will need to travel to HK/China this coming December to visit my hubby's paternal grandparents. Our baby should be 9 or 10 months by then. I'm hoping she won't be a fussy baby. I don't know whether a carrier or stroller will be most practical, especially if we go to HK. I guess it depends how heavy baby will be by then too. Any suggestions?

My other concern is finding clean drinking water for milk and baby's food. Shouldn't be a problem in HK, but we're going to a province in China as well....don't know if they have distilled water there.

@Grayce, thanks mare. Sige dadala ako ng meds for us na din. Kala ko kasi kelangan pa cert or kung ano pa. Atleast alam ko na, mahirap mahassle sa airport lalo may dalang bagets.

22 months si baby sa araw ng byahe namin so okay na nga yung sa lap nalang. Basta nakacheck-in ag meds, walan problem? How about milk? Okay lang magdala mga 3bottles? Emirates ang sasakyan namin pero parang PR ang flight number

^lenient naman ang airline madalas pag may baby, don't worry and pwede naman magdala ng milk. that shouldn't be a problem lola. and yes better if check in mo ang mga meds na ibabaon mo. yung kay baby pwede ka magdala sa bag kahit yung mga pang basics lang just incase of emergency lang

when we traveled with my barely 1 year old daughter to europe, i brought with me a small bottle of paracetamol plus water (my baby had stomach issues then so she was on dr. edward's/sterilized water). our entire travel time + waiting time in the airports + land travel was more than 24 hrs. i wanted to make sure if in case she develops fever, i have medicine for her. since we traveled during the time when airports were very strict in bringing liquids, I had to ask the pedia to issue a medical certificate for us. sa NAIA lang kami naharang. I had to explain our situation but when they saw my baby, they didnt even ask for the med certificate. Sa Schiphol and Otopeni airports, no problems at all

@simplykristine08 - puede ka mag-iwan sa hand carry mo ng konting meds incase of emergency, the rest ckin mo na lang when hubby when to Riyadh nilagay ko sa checkin yung mga meds para walang problem. As for the milk, puede ka magdala sa handcarry mo ng milk supply good for the entire duration ng flight the rest checkin mo na rin, sa water naman nung nag Guam kasi kami hindi pinapasok sa akin yung baon na water for baby pinahingi na lang ako sa inflight ng supply mineral/distilled water naman so ok lang.

^gawain ko rin yan sa PAL. The FAs automatically give me a big bottle of Absolut. Kakagaling ko Lang Ng benefits kanina para magpa-tkt but happily travelling WITHOUT kids this time. Haha.

@simplykristine08-ok lang magdala ng personal meds. Leave some in your hand carry. It's your preference if you want to buy a seat for your kid or not. Option mo naman yun. But yeah, extra gastos din yun.

^on codeshare flights, even if EK is the operating carrier, if the flight nbr on your tkt says "PR***" instead of EK***, you'll earn mileage on Mabuhay Miles.

ff-up mo lang sa cityhall yung certified true copy ng birth certificate that's enough to secure a passport. I got my baby's passport & US visa when she's 2mos old.

^AFAIK sa adults lang yung hindi pwede nakasleeveless. lenient sila sa kids. i remember when i was younger hindi naman ako sinita sa suot ko when i got my 1st passport.

^^naka indicate sa dfa website bawal naka sleepwear si baby. Sleeveless di naman siguro bawal, to be sure just let her wear a shirt, or bring a cardigan.

Ah ok. Buti naman! Pero good idea ang jacket. Puro sleeveless kasi ang mga dress ni baby.  Naengganyo lang ako iapply sya ng passport when i saw this thread kaya hinde pa ko nakaresearch sa dfa site
