Mommies,we'll be travelling our baby to hk next week, 1 month old na cya. Kelangan na kasi namin bumalik ng hk. Worried kasi kame baka super umiyak during take off and landing dahil sa ear pressure.wala bang effect sa baby yung ear pressure? i mean hindi ba nakakabingi yun? Umiiyak ba talaga sila? Ano ba dapat gawin? makakalessen ba yung ear plug?  salamat

sa mga kakilala kong nag byahe with babies that young, ok naman. better than bringing a toddler kasi tulog lang sila...

just make sure sa take off and landing nag dede sya para maiwasan ang ear pressure. nag binky ba baby mo? pwede din yun...

^^fear ko din yan when sumakay si baby sa plane although, 20 mos na si baby ko. what i did was i had milk and water ready, cause swallowing relieves yung pressure. but since she thumbsucks, sabi ko na lang thumbsuck while nagtake off hehe. sa ikatlo nga naming connecting flight, she was sleeping na nga upon takeoff pa lang... tama si sis, with a baby at that age, tulog lang sila most of the time, parang ihehele lang sila ng plane:)

^oo, mag-bulkhead seat ka pa din dahil mas malaki ang leg room doon. you can put your bags in front of you and your baby has enough room to stand at hindi sya ipit na ipit. that's the best place to be pero kung walang ibigay sa iyo, just seat at the back, yung wall na yung nasa likod. ok din doon kasi at least me konting privacy. i only made it sound soo easy so you won't panic. ha ha! ay naku sus, nahirapan din kaya ako e. iniisip ko lagi "kaya ko to..kaya ko to..." at  ini-enjoy ko na lang yung moments dahil very memorable sa aming dalawang mag-ina. tinago ko nga yung plane tickets namin for souvenir kasi first flight niya yon.

Ako naman sa age ng son ko mas prefer namin second row kasi pag nasa first yun nga mas mag aattempt siya maglakad lakad unlike sa second row nasa dulo lang siya watch ng cartoons, play, at nagpupunas lang ng wall at window ng plane

uwi kasi kami sa province ni hubby in may and nakabili na kami ng ticket ng walang abiso from our pedia.. hehe! she will be 7 months and 1 week by the time ma experience nyta ang first plane ride nya
1 hour lang naman ang byahe.. hopefully maging ok ang experience nya.

First domestic flight ni baby when he was less than 3 month old. No sweat at di man lang umiyak. Nahirapan lang ako sa first international flight nya at 1 yr 6 months from Manila to LA. Sobrang likot na at gusto libutin buong eroplano. at kung di ibigay gusto sobrang maingay. ang kalat pa namin. to make it worse, almost 5 months pregnant ako ang was travelling alone with my son.... kaya ang hirap. Nung pabalik na kami, may lagnat pa si baby, nagkaroon ng colds sa LA. Pero sobra kulit pa din.... Good thing pag baba namin pinasakay ako ng wheel chair coz ang hirap i maneuver si baby at ang carry on baggage pag lakad... but worth it lahat ng hirap coz nagreunion kami with daddy nya....

Pwede i handcarry ang diaper bag ni baby right?

Ok lang ba iwan sa loob ng diaper bag yung mga ointments for insect bites, diaper rash, etc? Or kailangan i check in?

Yup ok lang. Di na sila masyado strict nowadays. I had in my carry on baggage 1 bottle of benadryl and betadine, di naman  na sita.... but sometimes they require you to put it inside a zip lock (available usually sa airport)...  Experience ko lang, sa centennial airport they made me throw the water in the baby bottles at pinagtimpla na lang ako ng isang milk. Then sa plane available naman na water, accommodating naman mga flight attendants. Then sa US, they checked the water for any chemicals (baka gamitan paggawa ng bomb LOL). parang may tinapat lang na paper, then ibinalik din lang. the airport police advised me that when traveling in the US, dapat di mo ilagay sa loob ng bag ang mga feeding bottles with liquid. dapat naka expose daw para di na nila i chemical check....

yes sis, pwede ang diaper bag.. and meron allowable amount ng liquid sa plane.. pero like what mommy_cynch said, lagay mo lang sa ziplock.. pag meron ka naman baby hindi sila ganun ka strict sa baby things..

Question re Mother care sterilizing tablets:

Di ba mahirap gamitin? Sabi sa package cold water? Cold as in ref water? O okay na tap water?

After ibabad sa solution na may tablet, kailangan i-rinse pa with warm water yung bottles right?

First flight ng eldest ko, who is now 6yo, was when he was 3yo. We flew to HKG for a 3d2n trip for my 30th bday.

For my 2nd child, my daughter, 3yo din last year when we took her to HKG (di halatang di namin type dun hehe).

I'm taking them on their first long haul flight to SFO for a two week trip first week of May. Wish me luck as I'd be travelling alone back to MNL with my preschoolers...medyo kabado ako dito at wala akong kakampi. Hehe. Looking forward na lang ako sa shopping and pasyal dun again.

My two other daughters, ages 1, and 4 months coming soon. =)

nice thread, dami ko nakuhang tips, our baby is 5 months old na, we live in the netherlands and we're planning to go to Vienna and Prague sa August, pinag iisipan namin kung magpplane or long drive nalang, sabi ko plane sana practice para sa flight long flight sa Nov pauwi ng pinas, kaya lang mas comfy kung driving...

hello mga sis! ask ko lang kasi yung flight namin to US, 2 days before taiwan muna kami via cebu pac,. i called cebu pac kung pwede mag pa reserve ng bulkhead seats. d daw pwede pag may kasama na baby. may restrictions daw kasi. better daw kung upo sa 2nd row basta not in bulkhead seats. bakit kaya ganun? i thought mas advisable umupo sa bulkhead seat pag may kasama baby. (1yr old baby ko) what do u think?

^It depends on the layout of the cabin seating...5J has A320s flying to TPE but I'm not sure how the arrangement of their seats are. Bulkhead seats come in two forms kasi, either walls are in front of it or the exit row...which is dun only able-bodied pax are allowed to sit. Generally, airlines release these types of bulkhead seats only at the check in counter to assess the passenger if fit in case of an emergency. Ask 5J na lang if they have seats with bassinets (if that's what you're after) or where they normally pre-seat passengers with infants.
