ffg here. at 5'2, i used to have a 32-33 inch waistline, now it's somewhere between 25-26.

i'm still working on leaning out, though. like sis victoria, i don't have a good picture of me when i was chunky, but i'll try to find one anyway.
i'm pretty proud not only about having lost fat, but that i've managed to keep it off for about 7 years now.
essentially, i did a life overhaul. before, i was totally sedentary, tamad gumalaw, ate a lot of sugary and processed food, drank lots of softdrinks and iced tea. then one of my college friends described me as "katawang pang-nanay" and i was 17 at the time! the horror, lol!
then i started gradual changes -- walking more at first, lessening my intake, making smarter choices. i lost about 30 lbs at that time, but was covered in stretchmarks. i kept at it, but never really reached the leanness i wanted.
my weight would yo-yo a lot, especially since i was trying all sorts of diets to make me lose the last few pounds that just wouldn't disappear. i was getting kinda desperate na because even with an hour of cardio everyday, i wasn't getting the results i wanted.

then a couple of years back, i started lifting weights. best thing i've done for my physique, ever. it didn't eliminate my stretchmarks totally, but they're a lot less visible now.

it has also done a lot more to make me lean than the cardio i used to do. more than that, i really began enjoying the fitness lifestyle, and i'm happy that i can push my body to new limits, and know what it takes to make it lose fat when needed. plus, i help out as an assistant coach in the gym now, and i really enjoy helping people meet their fitness goals.
