^ Chatuchak is only open on weekends kasi the sellers come from all over Thailand pa and I assume a lot of them have regular day jobs.  It's up to you really.  If you're after wholesale, Pratunam is the way to go.  It's like their Divisoria.  Pero kelanganan talaga bulk ka bumili to make the trip worthwhile.

Chatuchak kasi, there's some stuff na same as Pratunam pero at retail (no need to buy in bulk).  Tsaka there's a lot of nice stuff na dun mo lang dun makikita.  I wouldn't say na it's worth it to change your booking though.  If masyadong expensive, I think you're ok not to visit.  There's always a next time.

I personally like Thailand's department stores tsaka Pratum.  Suan Lum night market is nice also and there's entertainment plus open sya till late.  It's very similar to Tiendesitas.

A  few months ago lang,  I got a  document/laptop bag  with wheels for only 1500 baht sa  Platinum.  1700  ang original price, binalikan ko after 2 days and tinawaran.

Dito sa atin  P4000 up ang same product.

MBK for back issues of (Thai) anime magazines for friends, tapos yung mga preserves nila. I loooove the flat round mango jellies -- parang fruit roll ups? Kapagod Jatujak. Too big, too hot, kahilo pa, kadisappoint pa dahil dami kong gustong bilhin pero di ko maisip kung pano ko babayaran yung overweight fee sa luggage. 

And pag gabi yung street side ng kahit anung branch ng The Mall nagiging night market.

i totally recommend platinum.  ok siya super.  it's like greenhills but has 5 floors of so many good stuff at very reasonable prices.  yun nga lang, not much for kids panay for teens up.  and yes blatherina is right, overweight luggage is the bane for shoppers! hehe.  super hirap magshop kung iniisip mo ang babayaran pag overweight.  advice ko is to go there with an empty luggage except for the essentials lang and just buy everything there.  =)

mga sisses sang mall merong Lacoste & much cheaper ba talaga compare dito sa pinas? kase plan ng parents ko punta next year sa Bangkok...i'm sure lacoste hahanapin ng daddy ko, dko pa sure kung makakasama ako, pero kasama naman nila sister ko...carry na yun!

My aunt said i-ship ko na lang daw para wala na din akong luggage pag-uwi. E ang siste, mga gusto kong bilhin mga Moroccan-style na glass lamps, teak screens and wall hangings (hindi daw pwede ilabas sa bansa nila, ngik), etc. Dugo naman ang ibabayad ko sa FedEx nun!

^my cousin and i originally planned to ship our stuff too.  kaya lang one week is just too long to wait for my purchases plus it's also expensive.  in fairness, 15k exacto yung luggage ko...no more no less kaya good move na din that i just brought the essentials =)

I went to BKK twice last year to shop for my store. Mas mura sa Pratunam shopping area pero hindi matibay tahi ng clothes nila, parang minadali. Sa Platinum mall madami din pero mas mahal. What i like is the quality of garments compared those from China. To find unique stuff, go to Chatuchak, the best dun, mainit nga lang.

I was there last January/February 2011 for 7D/6N.. I had 2 Chatuchak weekends.. sinulit talaga! Then I stayed pa sa Pratunam Area.. Don't forget to visit their Duty Free at Downtown Bangkok.. Grabe I got my REVLON Photoready compact powder for only 270 Baht or P392 which is P900 plus here, Clinique Happy Heart 50ml for 1494 Baht or P2100..On their department stores, mura ang Loreal and mas mahal ang maybelline.. mura din ang listerine as in their biggest size e buy 1 take 1 kasi it's manufactured there..kahit yung newest na purple (advanced).

What I missed was the Suan Lum Night Market coz it was under renovation at that time..

Know the Naraya bags here na patok sa Japan? Madami yun sa Chatuchak.

Platinum Mall - I visited this almost everyday. It has 3 buildings so don't be confused.. Each building has 6floors.. Building 2 & 3 is more on shoes & bags while Building 1 is on clothes & accessories.. So mas madami choices dito compared sa Chatuchak when it comes to fashionable clothes.. Madaming wholesaler na pumupunta rito kaya by 6pm most shops e nagcoclose na kasi madami na sila nabenta!!! Wacoal Bra is also cheap here at Platinum.
My purchases here costs as low as P120..

Across Platinum Mall, enter the streets leading to Pratunam tiyangges. It's cheaper here as compared to Platinum Mall but not as fashionable naman. You can get your wardrobe staples here like leggings, basic tees, tube tops.
