Hi mga sis, will be at bangkok end of the week.

aside from wacoal bras, lacoste, elle, and knick knacks from platinum mall and pratunam, what are the other good buys from bangkok?

on saturday and sunday you can go to chatuchak (or jatujak) - thailand's version of divisoria.  you can find lots of things here - fashion items (clothes and accessories), decor, even live animals.  be prepared though 'cause it's going to be hot in there (kasi yero lang yung bubong), plus there'd be a lot of people.  there are stalls there that sells nice shirts/blouses.

^^ sa chatuchak super cheap.my sis and i got shorts there for around 90baht each tapos 12 kinuha namin.colorful na short shorts,ganda nga eh.hehe hindi mukhang cheap..scored shirts din dun for 90 baht din ata somewhere sa ganun pero pili lang kinuha namin yung very unique.i know meron pa mas mura dun,hindi kami nagtagal kasi SUPER init

been to chatuchak before and 0prices are comparable to chinatown, pratunam or platinum

any good brands to buy there that are cheaper than here in manila?

I was just in Bangkok last weekend, swerte kami it didn't rain, just on the day we arrived. We accompanied my mom to Chatuchak (get off the Mo Chit Station ng BTS). My mom was shopping for silver jewelry and mura talaga doon. My family & I didn't go around and stayed in the park nalang while waiting for my mom because it was really so hot! Wala din naman kami tyaga to go around there.

The malls we went to were Central World & Siam Paragon. I like their department stores (Isetan & Zen in Central) kasi maraming choices and may discounts din. You can ask from the customer service for a discount card for tourists (5% din yun, besides the 7% VAT rebate you can get). Ganda ng clothes nila, there are some that are expensive like Sretsis & Senada kasi sikat na rin sila abroad. There's Greyhound, A-dress, Kloset... These brands are available in all those department stores I mentioned.

Mura din ang Naturalizer, Clarks. Esprit din medyo cheaper kesa dito & their choices are nicer. Altough di ako Esprit girl so I didn't buy. MAC make-up, I'm not so sure kung napamahal ako (matte lipstick was 715 THB--roughly 1000 pesos). And isang nakalimutan ko to check out was Stella Luna shoes (I was told na mas mura nga doon yun).

sa chatuchak mas maganda bilhin yung mga 'brandless' na clothes.  meron dun mga artists who sell tshirts na one of a kind, eto yung mga pinuntahan ko dito.  magaganda din mga accessories nila.

sa mga meron brands, try going to the duty free shops around bangkok, though feeling ko mahal pa din.

Platinum mall best place for clothes, shoes and accessories... yung bags meron din naman pero di kasing rami ng choices for clothes, shoes and accessories.

For bags best place would be MBK kasi suuuuuuuuuuuper rami ng choices, yun nga lang minsan nakakaturnoff nang bumili 'coz ang mahal ng presyo pag alam nilang tourist ka.

I prefer platinum mall kasi hindi sila ganun 'managa' ng tourista. plus once you buy more than 1 piece may discount na agad when you get 2 pieces or more.

For food tripping MBK food court suuuuuuuuuuuuuuuper dami ng choices. mura pa.
For mas pricey ng onti pero mas magandang ambiance (with matching aquarium) Paragon food court. Sa Emporium yung pinakagusto ko na food court kasi merong yung pang supermarket type, yung masmura type and yung higher end type. Plus andun lang din yung grocery tee hee!.

Watches: kasi sa bkk yung discount sa sale umaabot ng 50% off, unlike sa pinas hanggang 10-20% lang, swerte na pag 30% off.

For branded items, usually masmura sa bkk pagnakasale pero paghindi don't buy it nalang kasi either the same lang sa pinas or masmahal pa. Basta dapat naka sale hahaha... well yung choices masmarami rin sa bkk.

You can also go to tesco or carrefour (parang s and r/ macro/ hypermart) nila ito. Tesco has a great selection of bags and clothes that you can fit. Kasi sa chatuchak, suan lum, platinum, mbk or other places like that they don't allow you to fit clothes. Yung prices sa tesco mura pa rin naman pero slightly more expensive sa platinum or mbk.

For computers, comp accessories, lap tops and other techie stuff go to Pratunam (it's near platinum) pero kung mga computer accessories lang (like mouse, laptop bags etc) bibilhin you're better off sa CDR king dito sa pinas.

i wasin Bangkok a few months ago and my goodness parang gusto ko na tumira sa Platinum Mall! haha
too bad weekday kami nag stay so I was not able to check chatuchak.

ang dami ko nabili pero bakit kaya pansin ko hindi matibay yung mga damit.. ang dali matastas ng mga tahi. in perfect condition sila nung na buy ko kasi mega check ako bago bumili kasi nga baka may damage.

^hehe onga hindi gano matibay,yung iba pa nga hand sewn so ganun talaga..and maninipis yung tela. dalhin mo nalang sa mananahi para padoble mo yung stitches kaya? Hehe ako kasi handwash ko or hindi ko nilalagay sa dryer din kasi mostly nag shrink yung clothes ko galing bkk.

bangkok clothes are not on quality-based ones....
it's very much recommended for business-minded ones to buy their stocks here!

if your trip does not cover weekends a great alternative to chatuchak is the Onnuj Night Market! Real worth going to.

Planning to go there this summer. Sana masaya talaga mag shopping dito. Naeexcite tuloy ako. May friend akong Thai and everytime na uuwi sya super shopping talaga sya ng mga dress shoes. mura lang daw talaga and fashionable. Sana makasama sya pag vacay namin this summer..
