hi sis! thanks. actually, we are living in Toronto (East York) since Nov. 2008. malapit lang kami sa Stan Wadlow Park, nasa likod lang ng apartment building namin. 

we crossed the border last weekend and stayed in Embassy Suites Niagara Falls for a night. i've booked the hotel thru expedia.ca. the hotel is good, 15-20 mins walk going to the Falls and the breakfast buffet is a bonus! our best part was dinner at The Keg and swimming with my kiddo at the 9th floor. 

all along i thought you were a tourist, matagal na pala kayo sa toronto. we lived around 20mins drive to that area before.

I renewed 3months before it expired (online ito), if you want to send it by mail, make a lot of allowance ang tagal ng process nila.

all along i thought you were a tourist, matagal na pala kayo sa toronto. we lived around 20mins drive to that area before.

hi sis! hindi pa naman masyado matagal. less than 3 years pa lang kami dito but it was our first trip to the border and also first time to booked in Niagara. i was actually planning to get a cheaper hotel but hubby said dahil first time naman dun na raw sa maayos na.     sarap pala mamili sa factory outlet (Niagara, NY side) kasi 4% lang ang tax samantalang dito sa atin 13% ang HST. yun nga lang pagbalik namin Canada nagkaligaw-ligaw kami bago makarating ng Rainbow Bridge kasi ba naman itong GPS namin kung saan-saan kami dinala.

^i havent really tried mag punta sa Fashion Outlet Niagara since if 1 day or a few days stay lang in the US from Canada, there is a limit to the amount of things you can bring back. I like shopping at woodbury though.

Coming from the US, we normally take Lewinston port of entry kasi masyado mahaba ang pila sa rainbow bridge/niagara falls. bag bus naman, na try namin entry at fort erie. pag exit to the us we normally take the rainbow bridge para kita yung falls.

^i've read about the personal exemption limits when crossing the border. since first time namin saka hindi naman ganun karami pinamili namin (i declare everything), the border officer did not charge us of duties/taxes. 

now i got it! sa Lewinston port of entry nga kami pinapapunta ng GPS namin. since hindi kami familiar sa lugar, pinipilit ko ibahin yung route sa GPS kasi nalalayuan na kami nung nasa bandang Lewinston na. after 45 mins na paikot-ikot, nakarating din kami sa Rainbow Bridge. i agree, medyo mahaba nga ang pila pabalik ng Canada.

^$50/person yata ang personal exemption pero normally pag mahaba ang pila, hindi na magtatanong ng marami ang border officer lalo pag nakita naman na hindi sangkaterba ng shinopping nyo.

a week ago we entered through Lewinston, ang haba din ng pila, we waited for 1hr+. there were random inspections, yung iba sobrand dami siguro ng tanong so medyo matagal bago naka pasok, when it was our turn, mabilis lang kahit punong puno yung sasakyan. there is usually an advisory about the border cross time in both countries. when you set your gps to avoid traffic, doon ka dadalhin sa pinaka-maikli na pila usually, very rare that it will bring you to rainbow bridge entry except if nandoon ka na very near that area. actually, bago ka dumating ng Lewinston entry, there is a street there that will lead you all the way to the rainbow bridge/niagara falls (USA side).

kung nasa canada ka at pr or temporary foreign worker ka (skilled/lcp):

valid passport
proof of payment of visa application
nonimmigrant visa electronic application DS-160 (you need a softcopy of  your visa photo)

you maybe required also of a bank statement. or an employer's support letter if you are going to US with your employer. and some other proofs of your ties to canada.

Mga sis saan pwede magapply for work sa canada? Im an it grad din4 yrs experience in software

as of 1july2011, IT is not one of the eligible occupation to apply/come here in canada as a skilled  worker.

but if you have you can find yourself an employer, pwede pa.

^sis, don't forget na general training module ng ielts ang i-take mo..ako kasi academic ang tinake ko thinking that i could use it for canada or nz..waste of time on my part since im here in saudi tapos yearly ang uwi..haist,my bad..ikakasal pa naman kami ni h2b kaya no time to take this vacay..ill have to wait for next year again

sis, you can apply as an immigrant here.  but to work as an office administrator or exec. asst, that i am not sure.  you have to have the canadian experience kasi. meaning you have to study here. or kahit update lang. or pa-upgrade mo yung transcript mo sa regulatory board.

i have a dentist friend and she was even a scholar when she had some units in japan pero noong pumunta dito and had her transcript assessed, certified dental assistant lang sya. she could not even qualify as a dental hygienist.  hindi lang sya ha, andami kong nakikilala dito na mga denstist from colombia, mexico and some from other latin countries na CDA lang din sila now.

yung isa kong kaibigan also was an engineer. sa pinas nad japan din. pero noong pumunta dito he had to study for nine months para lang maging draftsman. his education and experience were not enough.

i don't want to give false hope.

^kaya nga sis showermist..ako naman nurse pero feeling ko pagdating jan, assistant nurse labas ko..neways, it would be fine basta kasama ko si hubby..nasa pagtitiyaga lang talaga siguro..now we're saving up for show money..kasi kung papalarin, ill be resigning here on 2013..uhm, nga pala, im still in doubt kung saan mas magandang city mag-apply..pahelp naman sis..Si hubby, it grad..hardware software tech ang experience, ako nman nurse..san kaya mas maraming opportunities?i've a friend in toronto, mga 2nd cuz sa vancouver, sa mannitoba ibang friends ko..like ko kasi yung may kakilala kahit pano..
