^if you're a frequent traveller lalo na if you have a US visa, answer is a BIG YES =) thru drop box nalang ata ang visa application ngayon doon. before you still have to call up for an appointment for your interview then bring the requirements with you. i went there before to study, and yes sayang nga na d ko na naprocess visa ko as i was asked by my mom to fly back home during that time due to some family emergency. nakakamiss ang mga barbecue & picnic days ko with friends during weekends! but hopefully in due time makabalik rin together with hubby & baby this time

canadians are naturally friendly so don't fret when you get to montreal. when i went there before merong iba na hindi marunong magenglish pero they're not the masungit type naman, they'll try to apologize to you in a nice way with the limited english that they know na hindi sila marunong magenglish

there's this place in [textspeak!] called whistler, naalala ko lang bigla, it's also a popular tourist spot in canada. hubby and i are planning to go here together with his cousins hopefully by next year once our baby's big na since we both want to try skiing and all those crazy winter sports

maybe you can still go back to school and finish your course. pwde ba yung ganon? parang dito sa Pinas, if nag-stop ka sa middle ng school year/course, pwde mo pa siya balikan and tapusin pagbalik mo or start from scratch ulit? a friend of mine spent 10 years in college. ilang beses/years din kasi siya nag-stop because of family issues. now she's in Canada na din.  nag-aral din siya ulit para pwde siya ma-promote and she married a Canadian din (ok now ko lang na-realize na madami pala ako friends sa Canada, haha!)

my nephew got mild TB when he moved to the UK dahil sa sobrang lamig. so ingat lang sa condition ni baby if ever you guys decided to visit Canada on a winter season, mas malamig daw sa Canada compared sa UK. Mas maganda talaga if malaki na yung bata.

^ah oo kasi sa UK mostly ulan ang kalaban mo. in Tdot nakupo, bundle up ika nga. toronto is not called the windy city of canada for nothing. windchills galore pag winter time! we're eyeing mga spring sana but depends kung makakuha rin ng leave si hubby by that time or sana by then nakalipat na ng work.

re: school, yes pwede yung ganun sa university. d ko lang sure kung ano ang policy nila pag sa college. iba kasi ang university and college in canada.

i suggest you plan your trip around spring or fall. i love the weather during fall season, sakto lang, hindi mainit, hindi malamig and, perfect time as well to see the leaves of trees changes its colour

i love fall too...ok sa fall but it can be very windy. i don't like spring that much, me and rain don't go very well hahaha right now sobrang lamig sa toronto. eto ata ang pinakamalamig na winter. last year halos walang snow. kaya ngayon gumaganti ata ang weather.

re: college and university mas madaling makapasok sa college actually and mas murang mag aral sa college. college nga lang is for diplomas only but if you want to get a degree you can continue sa university. a lot of students does that para makatipid sa tuition fee.

montreal can be a lil racist on some places lalo na sa mga fancy restaurants pero kung pupunta ka sa fast food places ok naman. bihira kasi asians sa montreal. i have a friend went to montreal for law school, his korean and we usually visit him on weekends pag lumalabas kame with his local friends ok naman pero pag kame kame lang ayyy nakuuuu parang ngayon lang sila nakakita ng asian! lol deadma kame kasi we went there to have fun!

sis grayce whistler is amazing!! awesome place to skii or snowboard!! ok din sa tourist spots. but going to toronto or whistler during winter for a tour wouldn't be a great idea for a baby. mahihirapan lang kayong mag-ina. summer would be perfect.

^^definitely won't be going ng winter, plan namin mga mid spring or fall banda para d ganun kalamig, and knowing how harsh winter can get in toronto nakupo sasakalin ako ng asawa ko and irereklamo nya ang rayuma nya for sure gusto pa naman nya itry mag toboggan sled kaya goodluck sa kanya hehe. good thing wala naman ako naencounter na snotty canadians nung nag montreal kami before, or maybe kasi we didn't eat at those fine dining places naman there puros fast food kami that time kasi super biglaan nung trip and mga kuripot rin kasama ko

sa university sis, madali lang rin pumasok. backdoor entrance a.k.a. continuing education course lang ang katapat para makapasok ng uni but yes uni is quite pricey nga lang talaga.

ahh yea kasi sabi mo you wanna try skiing so that's during winter. kaya sabi ko i don't think its a good idea since may baby kayo. how old sis grayce is your baby? if you want your son/daughter to skii dapat mga 2 or 3 basta nakakalakad na they can take classes! ang cute cute ng mga bata when they skiii hehe kakatuwa! dog sled is fun too  pede din bata dyan!

sa university madaling makapasok sa continuing education tama ka sis grayce kung may kilala ka pero kung wala i-assess ka nila if you need to take adult classes to get into a program and depende sa GPA mo. ganun din sa college. i suggest to visit the school you wanted to go to or call them and inquire. my friend wanted to take nursing sa isang university sa toronto, even he is done school in one of the colleges in toronto pinabalik siya sa HS to take some courses saka siya makakapasok sa cont. education then sa actual nursing program.

^ganun na sila kahigpit sa continuing educ ngayon? or i must be lucky then. took up hospitality & tourism mngt kasi at rye but ginawa kong backdoor entrance ang continuing ed. all they asked from me nung nagenroll ako is my passport and i basically filled up the application form lang.

i'm about to give birth palang hehe mga relatives kasi ni hubby is asking us to visit next year kasi may chance na magka family reunion sila ng may or ng october but not yet sure kung tuloy kami kasi depends rin kung papayagan magleave si hubby or makalipat na cya ng work. hanggang may/june ata ang skiing season sa whistler if i'm not mistaken but i'm 50/50 on bringing my son with us pag nag whistler kami kasi baka magkasakit but hubby's aunt is a pedia who'll be joining us if ever, bahala na si Lord if the plan materializes

@showermist: actually sis, no idea pa talga. hoping makakuha kami ng work diyan agad. but I don't think in-demand profession namn.  We are currently here in Abu Dhabi we are both engineers (civil)

even if you're an engineer sa abu dhabi, you can't work as an enginner in canada unless you go back to school.  yung asawa ng kaibigan ko, engr sa tokyo. pero di nya nagamit pagiging engr nya dito. he went back to school-1year. draftsman yata.  now he's working as, of course a draftsman not an engr.  he could be promoted if he's going to take the exam. di ko na alam kung anong exam yun at makakatake ka lang ng ganung exam if you're with the company for at least 5years.

are you sure passport lang? how about your transcript? if ganun lang ginawa mo then yes you must be lucky then. Universities in toronto wouldn't take you in without submitting your transcript.  I went to ryerson for cont. ed too asked for my transcript and passport this was when i was still on a tourist visa pero somebody sa loob helped me. I was done school sa pinas na din. 

congrats! 1 year old pa lang pala yan baby mo if ever. hirap niyan kahit sa airplane pa lang. yea may-june may snow sa whistler pero sa mountains na lang talaga. pede din Gondola sight seeing lang kung kasama si baby  sarap ng treetop adventure duon eh!

went to whistler lang 2 weeks ago--theres a place for kids that age to go sledding. pero syempre kasama ka ng baby magsled. also, you can be the 'human sled'
(really don't know the term) and if you know how to ski, merong carrier na iba-buckle mo sa beywang mo where you're gong to put your child in--diko rin alam ang tawag dun. but yes, i've seen lots who brought their cutees sledding and skiing etc

^^sis passport lang talaga. dala ko transcript ko pero d hiningi i just filled up a form then yun na. sana talaga makuha ng baby ko ang pagiging balat kalabaw ko and hopefully ok naman health nya by then para may chance na matry naman nya magsled

i guess bundle up na lang si baby hehe yung baby ng friend ko pinanganak ng summer walang skin problems nun nag winter na-develop ang skin allergies his now 5 years old ganun pa din kahit na nagrelocate na sila sa florida. so ingat na lang kay baby. napaka sensitive ng mga skin ng mga yan. super excited ka na siguro, kelan ka due?

@showermist ganyan nangyari sa uncle ko na engineer, he came from middle east too pag dating sa canada nagtiis as draftsman for a couple of years habang nagaaral and then took an exam. he finally got his license.

^I'm due on march10 most likely punta rin kami tdot before going to niagara area. kailangan ko mag bisita iglesia sa mga friendships sa toronto kundi magigilitan ako ng leeg sana talaga matuloy, para rin makapunta sa wedding ng friend ko who's getting hitched next yr october.

^ ako sis nag-IELTS na, General Training. Our consultant actually offers simulation test for free. We just did the simulation test tapos wala nang review review. The exam is actually pretty easy. Stock knowledge lang talaga.

Ano po yung "simulation test"? And saan po yun?

Kelan ka po nag-test ng ielts? I was just wondering kung madali yung test for you kasi baka kung years ago pa yun, talagang easy, and baka pinahirap na nila recently para maging strict or something?

^ nope, just took it last December 2010. Simulation test is parang "practice" for the actual exam

I am thinking about migrating to Canada. I am single. No children and no dependents. I want a new start in another country. Can you guys please help me?! where should I start? I have already visited the website and read this thread. Advisable bang magapply pa? because I just read na di pa napoprocess yung mga application in 2004 so if I apply this year, when pa yun matatapos.
