@ gquind_rn - currently, mga 15k palang binabayad namin kasi hindi pa kami eligible. But we are already fixing our papers and having them collate para pag may nakita na kami dito or if pumasok ang professions namin, submit nalang. Aabot ng mga 65k consultancy fee if matuloy ka. You can apply naman on your own, pero kaya kami kumuha is since may cap na nga ang pwede mag-apply, it's better to be sure than have your papers returned back to you dahil may isang field lang na missing or mali ang job descriptions mo, etc. As for dun sa filing, since reached na ang cap, all applications for that profession will be returned until it's open again (it may or may not be included na on the next run, depende).

^hi sis, why not apply on your own?  yung di ka na kukuha ng agency.  as long as you have 15k sure money na nasa account mo, you're good to go

Hi sis showermist!  true ba to? as long as I have 15K, I'm good to go? Pano sis? can you help me pano ang process without the agency's help? di ko kasi alam anong first step na gagawin.. Hope you can help me. I would like to work sana in canada, anywhere basta sa canada.

^sis, what i mean with that, if you have CAD$15k na liquid, bigger chance of being approved, like 80%,  and you pass the medical

Hi mga sisses! im a newbie here sa thread, me and my husband is currently here in dubai too, we are planning to migrate to canada in the next two years, we will be starting our application this june na, two years --- dhil  we have 3 kids na din and we need to settle some loans here, and also ipon muna bago alis. can someone tell me if its better to aplly directly sa embassy or thru agency, if agency, me alam ba kayo na reliable agency dito? please i need your help.. would it be better ba na mag visit visa muna kami sa canada? we are planning to visit there this june din bago kmai magapply to migrate. would it be possible? how much money i need to brin if we will be visiting canada? makakapagapply ba kami kahit we had a tourist or visit visa? di ba yun mkkaaffect sa susunod nming application?

Gusto ko lang po sana itanong, dun sa mga nag-take ng IELTS for Canada immigration, gaano po kayo katagal nag-prepare/study for the exams? Mahirap po ba? What are your study techniques (review center, self-study online, buy IELTS book, or hindi na nag-study)?? Thanks.

me and hubby to be are planning to apply for canada this year. although super dami naming concerns about this. we are currently in SG, after getting married we plan to move to canada and start our family there.

any suggestions kung saang city okay? we have friends in Toronto and Vancouver but no family/relatives, we are basically starting from scratch =) by the way we are both in IT field.

^hi, I'm also based in SG but i lived in toronto for a while before when i was still single. check cic.gc.ca for more info about the in-demand jobs in canada. may point system kasi sila, you can check there if you and hubby pass the point system naman. IT is one of the in-demand jobs in canada (my hubby's from the IT industry also), 2 of his bosses from pinas are already in canada together with their families because of their job

thanks Grayce, actually been reading their websites about how to apply, medyo confusing nga lang kasi wala sa list of skilled worker ang IT, may section naman for IT workers kaso more on software developer yung criteria, eh yung line of work namin ngayn is more on telecomm/network.

need to do more research and ask around sa mga forums =)

^pansin ko lang, different country iba iba talaga ang title na binibigay sa mga trabaho. si hubby sa EP nya nakalagay software engineer when he's not even an engineering graduate depends na i guess on the employer na magapply ng visa kung ano yung job title na ibibigay. iba ibang provinces, iba iba ang list of in-demand jobs kung d ako nagkakamali. try checking manitoba also. and advise lang, kung gusto nyo talaga mabilis processing, avoid [textspeak!] and Ontario kasi dyan madalas ang bulk ng mga immigrants talaga. try to apply in not so dense provinces

@showermist: actually sis, no idea pa talga. hoping makakuha kami ng work diyan agad. but I don't think in-demand profession namn.  We are currently here in Abu Dhabi we are both engineers (civil)

^not to discourage you pero usually pag engineers, doctors, nurses are required to go back to school to upgrade for you to practice your profession... migrating in canada will be of a challenge if ever kasi it means you won't be able to practice your profession el pronto and you have to start from scratch basically. this happened to a colleague, mom's a nurse then dad's an architech naman. parehong nagwork din sa middle east. but since ayaw na talaga nila sa pinas umalis sila. habang nagaaral mom nya and nagexam for her to practice her nursing profession she was taking odd jobs --- from factory to fastfood. ayun nakaraos naman working na sa toronto general hospital tapos may part time work pa sa scarborough. plus with their own house and car pa in toronto

^yun talga ang risk sis. kasi wala masyadong construction activities ang canada for now.  meron talga ibang bansa na need magaral ulit. howell. try lang who knows. thanks sis.

sisses, i just came from Canada as tourist. I'm in the IT field. And since wala ang IT sa hot jobs, hindi ako pwede basta-basta mag-apply as immigrant. So hubby and I went to Canada as tourists (his sister is already a citizen so nakitira muna kami dun). I tried applying for jobs and one employer really wanted to get me. I also had contacts sa headhunters there na pinoy din. All of them were nasasayangan coz I was perfect for the jobs daw na open but I don't have at least a working visa. HRSDC (parang Canada's HR) mandated na they get local IT people muna before hiring foreigners kasi madami daw IT people ang walang trabaho. So even though employers would want to get you, hindi ka rin papasa sa HRSDC coz they have the final say.

So eto, balik Pinas kami and looking for other ways to migrate there...
