hi sis principessa14, my husband and i applied directly. Wala kasi kami sa phils and walang reliable agent dito. We submitted feb 22 and our application got returned ng mar 17 kasi meron kaming na miss out. pero ganun sya kabilis nireview less than a month. actually based on the dates a week after we sent it na receive and nireview na nila.

Ano bang inapplyan ng sister and tita mo? Ang application kasi namin is for FSW, did they pay the agency? Kasi if you apply directly wala kang gagastusan except for mailing your application and only until your application is initially accepted dun sila magcharge sa credit card mo ng fees.

Not really sure about the consul na sinasabi nila kasi there is a centralized intake office. Ang alam ko lahat ng application dun sinisend whether you do it by yourself or if you have a representative. I suggest that your sister and take a second look on the recruitment agency kasi masyado ng matagal yung waiting period nila and its only the initial application.

Mag wwork sila dun as health care workers sana..katulad ngayon snabihan sila na sa April 10 daw ibibgay yung tickets nila and documents tapos sa April 14 mag ddepart na daw po sila via Connecting flight Japan Ailrlines to Vancouver..ganyan dn po kasi cnb nila before..ang daming beses na tapos na ppostpone..nagbayad po sila..mga 50K..or 100K..

Kung sa 14 magdedepart sila di ba dapat ibigay na para may 10 days naman sila para magprepare.

hi sisses! Im not sure if this has been answered or discussed here already.  But I am planning to apply for a student visa in Canada.  The school if University of Fraser Valley - is it a good school?  I believe this would come with a work permit - can i really work? Is it difficult to find work placements in Canada right now?

Lastly, can i upgrade it to PR after 2 years of study? thanks in advance!

^ eto lang ang masasabi ko: IT IS NOT WHAT YOU THINK IT IS. Canada is not the answer to all your problems and its far from being the land of milk and honey I am saying this truthfully and with all honesty.

Im not saying you will not prosper here or you won't get a good job or you won't earn good money. you can but unfortunately, not everybody does and most of the time, you won't be in the career or the profession you have now in the Philippines. Most of us struggle in our first few years here and are even struggling up to now. Yes, you will earn dollars but you will also spend dollars. Toronto is an expensive place to live nowadays with all the taxes and rising cost of transportation.

The winter months can be very very very cold and very very very lonely. Summer or warmer months are only few, you will spend more time "enjoying" the snow (sarcastic me dyan). hehe. You mill miss the warm weather in the Philippines. Yes, you read it right.  Kung gusto mong isumpa ang el nino ngayon, siguro pag nakaranas ka ng walang patid na snow at hindi na sumisikat ang araw, kahit ang el nino mami-miss mo

So be prepared to face reality. If you are doing well in the Philippines careerwise, i will not encourage you to come here. Kung ok ka na sa pinas, huwag ka nang magpakahirap pa dito. Masarap ang buhay sa atin. But if you think that Canada is the answer to your prayers, by all means, go go girl! but be ready to deal with disappointments, homesickness and depression. yes, everyone goes through that stage here. But dont lose hope, there is always a light at the end of the tunnel. A lot of pinoys have succeeded here too. And if there is one good reason to stay here, siguro yung healthcare. We don't pay for hospitalization or for services of the doctors but we pay for our medication. But if you have a permanent job, your company usually pays 90% of your medication. not bad eh? Manganak ka libre, maoperahan ka libre. saan ka pa? And the kids education of course. libre ang aral hanggang highschool if you don't want to put them in a private school. but college/university is NOT free. you will have to pay very high tution fees and not all families can afford it. kaya mga bata din dito na hanggang highschool lang tinapos. quality of education? ok lang. syempre mas modern dito pero hindi pa din naman matatawaran ang magagaling na universities sa atin. kaya for me, it doesn't really matter if my child studies here or back home. nasa bata pa din yan.

If you will ask kung ok naman ba kami dito, yes ok naman kami kahit paano. we eat six times a day, we have decent jobs, we are not deprived and we can save. hindi kami magarbo at maluho. but we struggled during our first years here. we almost gave up. but if you will ask me if i want to go back home, i will answer you yes, i wanna go back if i have the opportunity and enough money to start my own business there. there is no place like home pa din talaga. hindi ko ipagpapalit ang pinas sa canada   nyeh...canadian citizen na pala ako (sa papel lang yon hindi sa puso).

sis, sabi ng officemates ko yung sa kanila, 6 weeks after na maendorse sa embassy yung medical results.
kaya lang yung sa pinsan ko, july 18 cya nag medical last yr, duamting visa nya jan 18.
meaning, depende yata kung saan nagpamedical or saan ang destination mo sa canada.

tom pa ako magpapa-medicals sa nationwide. tapos i'll pay for the PR fee na rin sa embassy where will you live in Canada if ever ok na yung visa mo?

My hubby is in saskatchewan right now,and were applying for family program..kakasaubmit palang niya ng requirements sa canada.I do hope magkafeedback na soon..pano kaya yun..super wala pakong alam...I'm scared but kailangan kasi andun si hubby...tama ang isang sis naten canada is not the land of milk n honey... hello everyone.. I just found this new thread.. I am currently waiting for my visa too.. I just sent all our original documents. sa Calgary alberta kami kasi sabi nila it is the highest paid city daw sa Canada.. I hope it is true..dami nga daw work..sabi ng agent namin 3 months pa ang waiting..It is advisable kaya na mag job hunting as early as now sa canada?..

Hi sis, two of my friends landed in calgary albera, both of them said it is a nice city since it is the highest paid city and mejo lower ang tax compared sa ibang cities. Nakahanap naman agad agad sila ng work. well sa start survival job daw meron sila..pero normal lang daw yun habang di pa nagpapaupgrade after 6 months. Madaming pinoy ang nakukuntento na sa survical job dun at di na nagpapaupgrade kasi nga naman okay ang pay.

Medyo malamig lang sa Alberta and medyo provincial. the province also doesnt have sales tax.

^^Im not from Alberta actually pero I knew of some people who migrated there from the Phils.

Yung lamig sa Baguio is nothing compared to the temp in Alberta. The temp can go as low as -60C in the northern part of the province. Alberta also has really bad winter snow storms. So be really prepared for that.

Its pretty much laid back there also, there's this provincial atmosphere. Maganda rin scenery, mabundok. The economy of Alberta is based sa oil deposits in the province. A few years back, when the economy was still good, a lot of people moved to Alberta from Ontario to find work.

One of these days we hope to drive to Vancouver and will definitely pass Alberta on the way.
