^ginagawa ko nang hobby ang paguwi sa pinas ngayon. lol!  kelangan ko lang umuwi kasi ikakasal na ko, civil lang.  wala talaga sa plano ko ang umuwi next year. plano ko nga pumunta ng mexico on january then direcho visit na rin sa relatives sa US. eh nagkaron kami ng malalim na arguement ng boyfriend ko a couple of months ago regarding all these long distance drama. ayun, nung nagbati kami we decided to do it next year na. secret nga lang yun eh. 

in fairness masakit sa bulsa ang umuwi yearly ha! pero ok lang din. masaya naman ako eh.

my bf is in canada as well.. kakamigrate niya lang last july. plan niya umuwi august next year, so we can get married, nakakaloka ang LDR . gaano katagal ba usually ang application for spousal visa?

Hey! Congrats sa mga sisses na getting married soon or planning to get married! 

I read through the 1st few Canada threads and found that a lot of the sisses who posted there already have pending applications.

Just wanna ask sana what the 1st few steps are in applying to immigrate to Canada. Fed up na kasi si hubs dito sa Pinas. He's working as a government employee and he doesn't like how they're being treated. Ayaw nya din daw madawit sa mga gulo (Engineer kasi sya and he signs projects/documents, etc). Ako naman ay language coach sa call center, and making decent money, pero kung san si hubs, dun din ako syempre. Hehe.

So yun, (sensya na for the side kwento). Instead of looking for a different employer here sa Phils, he wants us to migrate to Canada. What should we do? And how much is usually spent in the whole process? How much din po ang kelangan namin i-save for when we do get approved?

i just went to the cic site, and wala na pala yung IT professionals dun sa list of professions nila na eligible for federal skilled workers. wala na ba akong chance to apply for immigrant status to canada?  am also here in dubai, nakakatakot na rin kasi, at least pag nag apply sa canada merong plan b.

Just wanted to ask, to those that applied directly to the CIO, how many days or months did you have to wait for them to advise that you can proceed with phase 2 of your application? Meaning you can submit further documents such as police clearance, certificates).

I know they will advise whether your application is pass or rejected but would just like to know the waiting time.

Im not sure if this has been answered or discussed here already.  But I am planning to apply for a student visa in Canada.  The school if University of Fraser Valley - is it a good school?  I believe this would come with a work permit - can i really work? Is it difficult to find work placements in Canada right now?

Lastly, can i upgrade it to PR after 2 years of study? thanks in advance!

Here's my question:

When you're applying for Permanent Resident (Alberta), why is it there is a need for Canadian Embassy in Manila for travel docs of your children (passport) even if your application doesn't include them?
