Mga sis share naman kasi im leaving this nov for canada this is my first time to go there as visit lang mga 8days lang ako kasama ko bf ko.  And is there any chance during that time i can apply work as well? Any suggestions?

^I don't think so. If it's an office job, usually matagal ang recruitment process (unless in-need talaga sila) so wala ka na by the time na ko-kontakin ka nila.

Just checked my application status online.  It said "Decision Made," but until now I haven't received any letter yet.  Still praying for a positive result...

Hi, I'm really hoping someone can help enlighten me about our current situation.

Our principal applicant was requested to take an additional ECG exam because he declared having past hypertension issues (nothing too serious though) during the medical check-up in Nationwide. He was pretty confident because he has been on a management drug (Pritor) and additionally, just had his Annual Check-up a month before the medicals. The Annual check-up included an ECG also and that turned out normal.

Yesterday, to our surprise, Nationwide called us to say that the required ECG results have come in and there seems to be some "findings." Of course we asked what they were but they couldn't give us any decent answers. Now they're telling our PA to go to their cardiologist next week. We asked what for (what was going to happen) but they didn't say either. They said that if we would opt not to go, then they will just submit the raw ECG results ("as is") to the embassy directly.

Is this normal, can someone please enlighten us? Will this negatively affect our application (grounds for denial)? It's really stressful cause none of us expected this, not even our PA himself. :/ I hope someone can help! Thanks.

^Just do what they say. Go to their cardiologist. The earlier you sort it out the better. My mom, who is our principal applicant, also had a problem when we had our medical so it took us more than a month before we could actually say that we completed our medical instead of the usual one day only. One month after "finally" completing our medical, we were asked to send our passport to the embassy and then a month later we have our visa.

I think you should also know that when you do get your visa, the expiration date would be the day before your first medical. So if you all had your medical say Sept. 1, even though your dad only completed his medical in Nov., the visa expiration date would still be Aug. 31 the next year,  so the longer you delay this, the less time you have for preparation. HTH!

before you could work, you need to have a social insurance number kasi don papasok ang taxes mo and all. You won't be able to get a social insurance number if you are on a tourist visa. Dapat at least permanent resident ka. Now kung may maghahire naman sayo na under the table or payag na wala kang SIN, by all means, pwede ka mag work. Yun nga lang bihirang bihira yun. Di naman nila kasi itatanong kung ano ka ang status mo sa canada eh.

^May nakita lang konting blood sa urine ng mama ko... siguro dala ng stress tsaka nagka-high blood pa nga sya pero nung ni-check naman sya, wala namang nakita. Minsan kase yung mga tests nagkakaron ng discrepancies kaya nga diba may mga second opinion.  I think yun ang dahilan kaya kailangan ng further testing, para lang makasiguro sila. Pag hindi kayo pumayag baka isipin pa nila may tinatago kayo.

meron ba dito taga newfoundland?  san kaya pwede makabili ng murang winter clothes? yung kapatid ko kasi mukhang di enough yung winter clothes and syempre naguumpisa pa lang sa canada kaya wala pa money. thru agency kasi sya nag-apply.

^better to get winter clothes in Canada. It can get quite cold in NFL during the winter. If your bro/sis doesn't have money yet, marami second hand stores there where he/she can score jackets are very low prices.
