learning the Spanish language

10 lang and 1 conversation class. Noong May lang ako tumigil ha, pero yung mga kasabay ko is level 21 na. Kainggittt. Anyway, goodluck Kumuha ka rin ng DELE sometime, iba na ang may certification na recognized internationally.

Naging prof ko sina Budge at Señora Trining (Regala). They're super fun. Si Budge, he stayed in Madrid for a long time at yung accent at pronounciation ng mga Madrileños ang itinuro niya sa amin. Kaya kaming magkakaklase na under sa kanya, we pronounce y or ll the way Madrileños would: yo would sound like "dyo" and llorar would sound like "dyo-rar."

Si Señora Trining naman very motherly. Medyo traditional ang methods niya (matagal na kasi siyang prof, di lang sa ICM kundi pati sa UP) pero masaya pa rin. Di ka niya titigilan hanggang di ka natuto. May isa kaming kaklase na binagsak niya, pero for obvious reasons naman, justified.

i took 3 units of elem spanish as my elective sa miriam college. my profe was ms ellen. ok naman.. daming handouts na binigay and may mga audio..

medyo nakakalito yung things kasi may gender sila. pero ang technique basta nagtatapos yung  word sa S,I,R, N,O,E,L in general masculine ang gender ng word na yun.

Nag enroll din ako sa Elementary Spanish sa province, natapos ko naman pero since di ko nagagamit, nakalimutan ko na din. =)

ako din im still learning the language but hubby now is teaching me spanish while im still here para pag nandun na ako kahit papaano marunong na ako magsalita though mag eenrol pa din ako sa university in Spain pagdating ko dun para formal talaga.

kakatuwa kasi may time talaga kami para lang turuan ako at least twice a week and mas ok kasi pwede ako magkamali at pwede ko paulit ulitin tapos may quizz din syang pinapagawa sa akin haha!

i'm currently studying spanish language.. sa bahay lang.. dami ko audiobooks and textbooks.. helpful naman, the best yung synergy spanish course!

^I can suggest that you listen to podcast. Ang name ng site is NOTESINSPANISH.COM. To be honest guys, studying Spanish is not as easy as we think. If you are really interested to learn the language, learning online and listening to podcast is not enough. One must really enroll in a Spanish school. I really recommend Instituto Cervantes because there, you will get to practice speaking and listening to different accents of Spanish language. Argentinians, Andalucians and Cubans have very hard accent to understand. Currently, I am still studying in Instituto Cervantes and I am already in advance level. I have to admit I still have classmates who are still struggling to speak in Spanish. Remember, you have to practice speaking. What I can suggest is to do exchange language with Spaniards in the internet but one must really sacrifice. Like me, I wake up as early as 4am to talk to Spaniards to practice my Spanish with them. 

Buena suerte a todos los que quieran aprender español. El español está muy cerca de nuestra cultura. No se preocupen, como la pronunciación es muy fácil para nosotros. Es sólo una cuestión de práctica.

para makaabot ng level 21, gano katagal kaya yun? i mean ilang sessions? balak ko din magtakeup ng spanish lessons. sabi din kase ng mga officemate ko, malaki sweldo pag spanish call center rep eh.

i want to learn and speak spanish.. ang mahirap kasi pag nag enroll ka tapos pagfinish na yun course at walang practice nakakalimutan mo talaga.. maganda yun may buddy ka para napapractice mo pa rin at lalong maimprove..

gusto ko rin matuto ng spanish. dito pa naman sa lugar namin 80% eh mexicans.  minsan pinakikinggan ko conversations nila hindi ko naman masabayan, ambilis eh at may accent sila kaya yung pronounciation hindi ko magets LOL  siguro pag pinagaralan ko ang spanish, madali ko nalang siya map-practice kasi kausapin ko lang tong mga mexican kong kapitbahay eh ayos na hehe.

pero lamang pa rin tayong mga pilipino, kasi we can speak the international language kaya mas madali ang commerce sa atin, unlike sila, matanda na't lahat hindi makapagenglish.  ayan, nagkwento na!

thanks for all the tips! i'll be enrolling soon at instituto cervantes for next month's lessons. i'm getting the beginners classes since this will be my 1st time ever to study Spanish. i'm still trying to convince some friends to enroll with me so that i'll have someone to practice with.

I miss going to ICM.  I can still understand and speak the language, but my mind doesn't work as fast.

i already enrolled to beginners class at instituto cervantes. i took the sat AM classes. i wanted to take sana the ones starting at 6pm but i wasn't sure if aabot ako coming from work. so to be on the safe side, yung once a week na lang muna. hopefully by next level pwede na ako for the 6pm classes.

tanung lang... does anyone know where i can get an audiobook copy of "percy jackson - lightning thief" in spanish? para mas ma-encourage ako to learn faster i'm thinking makikinig ako sa audio copy ng book na interested ako to read.

This thread is very helpful mukhang mapapaenrol ako sa spanish course sa ICM very soon. Ano requirements and how much per level?

Ako din, I miss ICM. Tagala na since last ako nag-enrol. I'm planning to enroll ulet. Mag take ako ng diagnostic para malaman ko kung ano na level ko.  I stopped after level 10 but that was 2005 pa, that time till 18 lang ang level ng Spanish class dun. I think nag-improve naman na ako, sa comprehension and speaking, gamit kasi araw-araw. Thing is mejo informal na yung alam ko and not really the technicality of language. . Eto yung downside pag natuto ka outside school eh. lol
