Ako naman, Open Cholecystectomy nung June 1. So it's been exactly 2 weeks since then =) Hindi daw kaya ng Laparoscopic eh, kaya traditional open surgery yung ginawa. Like with sis wuvshoe, it started when it became suuuper painful to eat. Konting kain lang sobrang sumasakit yung abdomen area ko. At first akala ko acid reflux kasi may history na lang ako ng heartburn, acid reflux. Naka 3 times kami bumalik sa Medical City ER kasi sobrang sakit. The third time, inadmit na ako.
They did ultrasound ng abdomen, CT scan and several blood tests to determine the cause. Yun pala, super daming gall stones and some were already blocking my common bile duct. The bile couldn’t pass through, kaya namimilipit na ako sa sakit.
In the operation they got out 216 small stones from my gall bladder! And 13 were found blocking my common bile duct. Nilagay nila sa jars para souvenir sakin hehe. Gawin ko daw necklace, they look like tiger’s eyes yung ginagawang jewelry.
The operation took 4 hours, kasi just when they were about to close the wound, lumabas yung xray and they found 1 little stone still stuck, so sinungkit pa nila. Nagtatawanan nga daw yung mga nasa operating room hehe. Funny pala, nung latter half ng surgery, nagising ako! I felt them doing stuff pero hindi masakit. I have to commend the doctors in Medical City, they are really good! I felt so taken care of, pati ng mga nurses. Although, umabot ng 198k yung bill ko. 5 days kasi ako nasa ospital. Buti na lang most were covered by Maxicare and Philhealth, mga 18k lang talaga yung cash out namin.
Tinatawanan ako ng family ko kasi I wasn’t scared for the operation. Before the operation, todo suklay and lip balm pa ako haha. And I was complaining kasi hindi pa ako nakakapag-pedi
Sa experience ko, 4 days after the operation I was sent home na. Although the first 2 days sobrang sakit nya. May slight cough din ako and super sakit pag umuubo! Hirap ako nung una mag fart and pupu, pero when I started walking around, ayun, mas gumaan feeling ko and naka pupu na rin ako. Bale meron akong long incision (naka-cover pa rin ng plaster ngayon), and 2 holes. Yung isang hole, nilagyan ng JP drain nung una, pero tinanggal na while I was in the hospital so open sya ngayon but with bandage pa. Yung isang hole, ayun may T-tube pang nakakabit. While in the hospital may drainage bag na nakakabit sa T-tube, dun napupunta yung bile from my body. Pero the day before I was released, they clamped the T-tube shut, to check if kakayanin na ng system ko na sa intestines na dumaan yung bile. Thankfully, hindi sumakit. Dapat kasi may drainage bag pa akong kasama pag uwi, pero tinanggal na nila yung bag, they just clamped the T-tube shut and naka-plaster sa tummy ko, mukhang may umbilical cord sa tummy ko ngayon. Naka-bandage pa rin.
I’m going to the doctor again this Saturday (2 weeks after I was sent home) para mag tests ulit if may nakabara pa na stones or debris. Kung meron, issuction out sa T-tube. Kung wala na (hopefully!), tatanggalin na rin yung T-tube. After that, 2 more weeks of rest. I was ordered 1 month of rest, kasi pag open surgery matagalan talaga ang pag galing. Not complaining though, ngayon lang ulit ako napahinga eh!
Right now, two weeks after the operation, I feel really good. Parang wala lang, although I have several bandages on my tummy, and I can’t take a bath. Bawal mabasa eh. What I do is use cling wrap around my abdomen area, top it with a towel, and shampoo lang naka-tungo. And wash wash ng limbs. I clean the hole from the JP drain with betadine and change the dressing.
Another major problem is, the scar =( Hindi na ako makaka-two piece huhu. What’s a really good scar remover?
