hi, everyone! i am currently applying for Training Assistant position at SM Davao. I already had two interviews -- HR and the Department Head. They told me to wait for at least 2-3 weeks. They said they will call if ever may feedback na galing Manila. Mag 2 weeks na this coming Saturday. Tatawag ba talaga sila? If ever hindi ka matanggap, will they inform you? Or huhulaan mo nalang? And if anyone here knows about the salary range and the benefits of SM Davao, i'd really appreciate if you share. Baka kasi mag tanong sila, at least may idea ako. Entry level ako. First job if ever matanggap. I hope anyone can help by sharing what they know. At least mapanatag ang loob ko. Medyo kinakabahan kung ano resulta. Thank you.

i applied sa jobstreet reg leasing manager for sm. though having masters is an advantage, not required naman as indicated in the job ad. my dilemna is, i am currently taking masters for communication management and with all your feedback regarding workshift and etc, i am now having thoughts whether it was an advantage for me that i indicated from my resume that i am currently studying at the same time. though if ever man, i am willing to surrender my other off day or kahit mag extend ng working time sa ibang araw, para ma pay off ko lang yung ieearly out ko for my class which is usually 5pm to 8:30pm. if this is the case and my proposition to them, do you thing guys that they consider this such set up? hopefully sana talaga.... i am really eyeing for this position. very related pa siya sa scope ng masters ko kaya in case pareho rin naman kami ni sm makikinabang....

your opinions will matter to me guys. thanks! =)

nagwork ako sa dept store for 6 months as customer service assistant. mga 2-3 weeks ata bago ako nagstart sa work. medyo mabilis kasi me mga backer ako na mataas ang position, eh sila mga taga follow up ko. lol. nag aantay kasi ako ng result ng board exam ko nun, eh wala ko magawa sa bahay. anyway, sa sm, pag holidays, me pasok kayo unless mahal na araw. so 3 days lang ata yung official na pahinga nyo sa isang taon. maere yung mga may position dun. kapag di ka nag-good morning, tatawagan yung manager mo dahil suplada ka. haha, ibang klase. gusto pa ata magba-bow ako kapag nakita ko sila. tapos walang union. so yung management lang ang talagang mag dedecide kung anong benefits meron kayo. kapag na reach nyo yung quota, meron kayong bonus. yung bonus na yun eh gift check pa. haha! natatawa nga ko nung natanggap ko yun. maigi na rin kesa wala. tapos yung mga officer dun walang overtime pay. yung mga nasa smc (yung sm company mismo), kapag may field work (yung accounting officers), walang bayad yung lunch kasi raw talaga namang magla-lunch yung employee kahit walang field. ok diba? haha. super higpit nila rin sa attendance. pero kapag na late ka ng uwi dahil sa dami ng ginagawa, wala kang ot pay.  so yun, after 6 months, nagresign ako. inggit sakin mga katrabaho ko kasi sila natali na sa company na yun.

irerecommend ko ba ito sa mga gusto ng matinong trabaho? you be the judge haha.

back office yung treasury assistant. sila yung taga bilang ng perang sinu-surrender ng mga cashier o mga customer service assistant (yung mga nasa forex and bills payment). sila rin taga check kung may fake na perang nakapasok.  sa kanila rin manggagaling yung mga palitan ng barya na umiikot sa buong dept store. basta all about pera sila. di ko na alam kung [textspeak!] pang ibang ginagawa nila kasi yan lang yung nakita ko.

salary? ang alam ko halos kapareho lang ng sa csa. di ko lang alam kung ano ng rate ngayon.

Thanks for the reply Nuriko! I'm done with 4 interviews already and they just called me tonight that i need to come see the HR manager tomorrow and that i have passed the interviews already. My only dilemma now is the salary. hindi raw malayo yung salary na ma-i-offer nila compared sa salary ko from my previous job(which is very small i must say).

^^sis shielomarie, matagal talaga sila magprocess. Wait mo lang na ma-set ka ng iterview kay Ms. Viny Uy (VP for treasury, di ko lang sure kung sya pa din ngayon). Kapag ok ka na kay Ms. Viny, ok na yan. schedule ka na nila for medical.

This is based on my experience. I was treasury assistant din sa SM before.

Ma'am what exactly did you do as a treasury assistant? inassign ka ba nila dun sa forex? and how much po natatanggap nyong salary? pa heads up naman po, im thinking of accepting the job offered to me na ganitong position eh. thanks thannks!

2 types kasi [textspeak!] treas asst ng SM. [textspeak!] sa FOREX, sa mall naka assign un. the other one is sa back office (magbbigay at magrereceive ng money from the cashiers and customer service asst. na naka assigned sa mall)
SALARY - well wag ka masyado mag expect kasi starting nila is usually nasa 13k lang..

Hello guys. I worked as accounting assistant sa sm branch. Yung time ot talaga almost everyday especially monthend. Strict sila sa attendance super. Salary is just okay. kung training and experience ang hanap mo okay sa sm pero be ready kase work work work talaga.

help po, medyo napa-paranoid ako sa medical exam ng SM. i mean, GAANO BA SILA KAHIGPIT?

i've read from a pinoy exchange thread na konting sira lang daw sa ngipin, fail na. (eh pustiso beauty pa naman ako! XD)

sa design officer position po ako sa head / corporate office sa moa inicoconsider.

i started applying sa sm lucena (for design officer ng san pablo, sa pinakamalapit na branch lang nila inipa-process). andami nga interviews and two sets of exam (online then manual drawing).

last friday, nagfinal panel interview na. then at most two weeks daw for deployment. mag-iintay pa for medical exam, while nagpe-prepare ng work documents.

kaya yun... natatakot lang ako na bigla akong mag-fail sa medical exam. eh may nababasa ako na sa medical pa hindi nakakalusot. =(

buti nalang hindi na ako inuubo. hay.

First employer ko si SM. maganda syang training ground for newbie kasi strict sila talaga eh lalo sa attendance. Hindi ako basta basta makapag-leave ng wala valid reason. Pag sinabi mo sick leave you have to report to the clinic after your leave. Masaya sana sa SM lalo pag break nyo at nasa locker kayo puro chikahan. Pero ayoko kasi ng work schedule lalo fist time ko naranasan nun mag-work till 7pm ng Christmas tapos ako nalang nag-iisa sa back office since i worked as telephone operator/pager. Plus pag 3 kami sa booth minsan pumupunta ako sa customer service sa mall dun naman ako naku ang dami stress dun because of the customers na nagrereklamo sa mga sm advantage cards nila (dami problems) so kami taga salo ng galit nila hahaha... One time pa pumunta ako sa gift wrapping section para tumulong dahil peak season nun hala may isang customer pa akala mo muchacha nya mga employees kung makapag utos magpa wrap. Hindi ko kaya itolerate yung mga ganun kanya sabi ko sa sarili ko hindi ako para dito sa work na ito. Ok sana as telephone operator/pager kasi enjoy nga eh play ka lang ng music, answer calls, announcement, page. Nakakatuwa na work feeling ko DJ ako hahaha... My manager even told me na sayang yung chance dahil mareregular na ako ang dami daw naghahanap ng work pero sabi ko hindi ako masaya sa work ko ayoko mag-stay sa work lalo na first job ko tapos araw araw na papasok ako eh wala ako hinihintay kundi uwian.

Well just want to share my experience with SM Department Store. Newbie lang din ako pero di ko na isshare kung kelan ako nahire. Medyo matagal talaga ang processing ng application so if you are really aiming for the position well I must say na you need to extend your patience. Pinakamabilis na ang 1 month.

Interview Process:

Initial Interview: HR Assistant
Second Interview: HR Manager
Third Interview: Branch Manager
Fourth Interview: Zone Manager

2 sets of exams (computer generated)
Medical Exam ( You will have to shoulder the cost of it I paid around 245 it includes urinalysis, fecalysis, chest x-ray)
Physical Exam - to be conducted by the nurses on duty sa branch clinic

Note:
-They are very strict sa Eye problems (Back office are allowed to wear glasses pero for sales lady I think they are strict) UTI and Scoliosis (good thing I didn't have any)
-They asked me to color my hair black (YES medyo blonde kasi yung hair ko nun)
-They asked for a dentist's cert for my oral prophylaxis.

So all in all you will really spend a lot before your start date. TAKE NOTE: Wala pang contract signing to. Just complying all their requirements

After 1 week they called me up for an orientation. I had to go to different branches to observe ( I had to pay for my own transpo pa) They gave me three sets of uniform for free, but for selling people I think they have to pay for it pero salary deduction naman.

Struggle ang pagsusuot ng stockings, I had to buy almost everyday dahil palagi kong nasisira. Back office are not allowed to have their nail polish na colorful, kailangan neutral/earth colors lang same with earrings. Bawal ang necklace, bracelets and anklets.

Sad to say but I had to give-up my whole self kasi ang daming bawal as in.

When it comes to office set-up walang outside internet access lahat ng computers, plus there's only this one address na nakakatanggap ng outside email. So imagine the hassle of it? Cellphones are even not allowed and chargers as well. Plus you have to swipe in and out 6 times a day.

Bottomline: I'm not happy anymore
