we were also there around september, weather was perfect. ang bilis lang makasunog. kahit na spf100 na sunblock gamit namin grabe initim parin namin.

Went to Maldives with my bf this month July 9 to 14. And to tell you, it conquered my heart. Hihi.
It was sooo beautiful Sharks are on the water and you can even swim with them! But of
Course sa mababaw lang kami, para baby sharks lang.hihi

Travel was ph-singapore-(sri lanka:1stop)-maldives.

We bought tix ph to singapore and a separate tix from changi to maldives. So, nakapag ikot
pa kami sin for a couple of days before maldives.

Tix from sin to male (maldives) you can get it without a promo for as low as 15k.
We got ours for 18k each.

We chose a resort that has a speedboat transfer instead of seaplane coz its more practical.
Seaplane would cost you 500-600 usd while Speedboat is 140usd per pax.
So make sure that before you book a hotel, look what mode of transpo they offer. (If youre budget concious)

Mostly, resorts do offer full board or all inclusive. We purchased the all inclusive. Again, for me it's better.
Because bev and snacks is a lil expensive. One bottle of water can cost you $5 more or less.

It will now be easier for us here in Manila to go to Maldives starting this coming October. CX will now start flying to Male, Maldives 4 times a week! At least now isang stop na lang sa HKG then straight to Male na!
I just hope the resorts in Maldives will also be a little bit affordable.

We booked thru Rajah din before, Sing Air with layover at Singapore. THen, I was able to get a promo sa resort na napili namin. Nagbasa lang ako ng reviews sa tripadvisor, inquired online at an agent na nakita ko dun and found out about the promo. TOld Rajah about the promo, and they were able to give it to me too. Book 3 nights + 1 free night ang nakuha ko noon.

share ko lang ang research ko on how to go to Maldives from Manila, Philippines. For Maldives, they issue your visa upon arrival.

Option 1: via Singapore Airlines

This was the first option that I have because this is the airline that my husband is flying with. The flight will usually leave at 2:15 in the afternoon and arrive in Male at 10:20pm their time. This has a 3 hour stopover in Singapore. A roundtrip ticket will cost around $1000~ inclusive of meals on all legs and unlimited bar and drinks.

Option 2: via Malaysia Airlines

The first option causes an "ouch" in my pocket. So I tried to look for different flights. This is the next suggestion that I saw and checked. This one will stop over at Kuala Lumpur. They leave at 3:05pm and arrive in Male at 9:55pm. A roundtrip ticket will cost you $1125~ inclusive of meals on all legs, not sure about the drinks though. I was a bit surprised that this is more expensive than the 1st option. So this is definitely out of my list.
**I just found out from my friend that they do go on sale, which you can get tickets for just $500. ;-)

Option 3: via Philippine Airlines and Srilankan Airlines

This is a more complicated option but definitely cheaper. You need to book Manila to Bangkok through Philippine Airlines and then Bangkok to Maldives through Srilankan Airlines. This type of arrangement will consist of 2 stopovers, Bangkok and Colombo. You just need to fix the time of the flights to make sure you have enough time to transfer. This option would give you around Php 26,000~ roundtrip.

Should you avail of this trip, try to stay at Sri Lanka for a couple of days. They also issue arrival visa.

Option 4: via Krisflyer of Singapore Airlines

This is the option that I took. Thankfully, I have the correct amount of miles to fly, you just need 37,000 miles. I just paid SGD 452.80 for the tax and fuel surcharges. So you can start saving miles now.

Hope this is helpful in case you would want to go to Maldives for your honeymoon or holidays. ^_^

hi crazy_krizsa! from SG you can fly via srilankan air. alam ko sila ang may cheapest flights to maldives. pero if you have budget to spare, pwedeng through singapore air

based on experience and the research I've done nung nagpunta ako nitong june sa maldives, eto yung pwede nang budget for 2. pero the airfare is from the philippines

Airfare via Philippine Airlines and Srilankan Air -- $1,300
Speedboat transfer -- $400
Accommodation for 4 nights inclusive of breakfast -- $1,500
Food allowance -- $600
Miscellaneous -- $200

Yung resorts na pwede diyan sa budget na yan ay Holiday Inn Kandooma, Velassaru, Kurumba, Velidhu, Kihaad, et al. Basta wag ka lang magWater villa, keri na ^_^

Hi Sis hushlygreen. Nakita ko nga yung holiday inn. I guess all resorts naman will have a good beach di ba? so di naman kelangan super mahal or mag water villa pa kame.

yes sis, ganda talaga ng beaches nila ^_^ kami ng husband ko, gusto talaga namin beach kaya masaya na kami sa beach house. masarap lumamyerda sa beachfront hehe

my friend naman visited velassaru, ganda din ng experience nila. madami din pinoy na staff both sa velassaru and holiday inn, so medyo special treatment tayo dun ^_^

Went to Maldives for our Honeymoon last October. And super WOW!!!! na-observe ko iba ang tubig dun compared sa mga napuntahan kong beaches/island saten. I've been to coron, boracay, puerto princessa, samal, batangas, etc.
Plus, they don't feed the fishes there to snorkel. Unlike saten, we feed them para lumapit saten e. ayun.

I'm super happy hubby granted my wish to go there for our honeymoon. worth every cent yung experience esp. sa resort.

I got to book tickets for an 8-night stay in Maldives. Problem is, my boyfriend and I still don't have any place to stay!

For those who have gone there, how much per night ang accommodation niyo and where did you stay? Any tips for me, i.e., someone who has never gone that far out of the country before?
