im also looking for ortho mattresses for dogs. im thinking baka our local bed manufacturers can customize sizes for me. there's this factory/warehouse in marikina that i plan to check out next time im in manila. forgot the name. tsk.

same here. its frustrating when my dogs get bored with their food. im not feeding  them "basta-basta" lang na pagkain, but still there are times when they dont want to eat.  :'(

^ i feed my dogs chicken, beef, pork and tuna (in water) plus veggies. kibbles, biscuits and jerhigh sticks for snack... yung jerhigh is always a hit. never pang tinanggihan... pero yung iba, minsan konti lang kakainin or totally snob nila. di naman madalas, pero syempre nakaka-alarm kasi biglang ayaw kumain.

how do you prepare the liver? and what animal liver is that?

my vet said i can also feed them other types of fish. di ko palang sya na-ask in detail kung ano and paano prepare.

I read in another forum na pwede daw pakainin ng chicken breast and laman loob basta boiled lang in water no salt. Tama ba to?

^ thanks for the info. will try to feed them those also.  :)

i get the jerhigh sticks from my vet (VIP) but they're cheaper in tiendesitas.  P75 to 95 ata, basta less than P100 per pack... they come in different flavors. milky pinaka fave ng dog ko, but i also get carrot, banana and strawberry. please check the expiry date on the back of the package whenever you buy in tiendesitas.

i dont buy the other treats - cookies and strips kasi i find them tough.

^ quoting from the link above:

'Fish (raw, canned or cooked)

If fed exclusively or in high amounts can result in a thiamine (a B vitamin) deficiency leading to loss of appetite, seizures, and in severe cases, death.
'

i think variety and moderation are the key.  "if fed exclusively" or "in high amounts" are the operative words here.

garlic is also in that list... but if you read the labels of some dogfoods, you will find garlic as one of the ingredients.  :o

kaya ang hirap what to feed our pets. lalo na that they cant talk and tell us whats wrong, like if they're having tummy ache. honestly, sumasakit ulo ko.  :'(

^ yung yeast ata sa list the "un-baked" kind.  sometimes i give my dogs bread and pandesal and they seem to be fine naman.  ;D

my mom had a dog who loved chocs and chippy. grabe, umabot ng 15 yrs yung aso. namatay nalang of old age.

ETA - from ASPCA.org website:

Yeast dough can rise and cause gas to accumulate in your pet’s digestive system. This can be painful and can cause the stomach or intestines to rupture. Because the risk diminishes after the dough is cooked and the yeast has fully risen, pets can have small bits of bread as treats. However, these treats should not constitute more than 5 percent to 10 percent of your pet’s daily caloric intake.

I read in another forum na pwede daw pakainin ng chicken breast and laman loob basta boiled lang in water no salt. Tama ba to?

buy chicken breast or thigh, yung fillet and skinless... boil them. no seasonings added... then pag cool na, shred mo lang.

ako i serve the chicken with rice, chicken broth and boiled veggies like carrot.

i read in a US forum naman that you can actually make chicken soup for dogs yung sama-sama na pagluto ng chicken, rice and veggies. i will try to look for the link.

ps: when i said shred, hindi yung pino na pang chicken spread ha. hehe.. medyo coarsely chopped siguro ang right term.. hehe

Human food pa naman is very tasty.

Parang sa tao, kailangan in moderation.
