Do you often avail travel insurance in your travels?

To those outside Philippines,  where do you purchase your travel insurance?

Any reliable online travel insurance? I'm planning to purchase travel insurance online kaya lang worried ako kasi baka fake yung site. Hirap kasi ako humanap ng travel agency kasi I am outside Philippines.

^It is a good idea to get travel insurance. You never know what might happen, better safe than sorry. I've used both AIG Travel and Blue Cross. Google mo na lang sis and check for their local branch at the country you're in.

Am planning to purchase sa blue cross. yung 4days nila is only 300 pesos domestic.madami coverage.

how about yung travel insurance from credit cards like BDO Gold? do they cover accident insurance?

I've bought travel insurance from Philam, Blue Cross and Malaya. All are okay naman. Sa Malaya, you can just call their office, give them your info, then pay and pick up the policy from their office.

With Blue Cross naman, you can call their office, give them your info over the phone (or fax them the form), pay via bank deposit, then they'll send the policy to you.

how much yung sa philam and sa malaya sis? local kinuha mo or international?

So far, yung Philam ang pinakamahal. I can't remember how much I've paid na, pero it was over 2K for a 17-day trip.

Yung sa Malaya, 600 bayad ko for 8 days. Sa Blue Cross naman, mga 3,700 ang insurance ko for 38 days. The premium depends din sa benefits eh. I think yung 3,700 sa blue cross was the Deluxe peso plan or the executive dollar plan (I can't remember na!)

The premium price would depend on the following:  the number of days, destination, policy inclusions/coverage. Comparing the prices, the most expensive premiums are to Europe compared to the US.

How much yun sis? Depende ba kung ilang araw ang trip?

yes sis, depende kung how many days or kung saang country yung travel.then, depende rin sa plan. meron yung basic lang, etc.
for example, yung usa/canada na good for 15 days only and basic or de luxe peso plan will only cost you P 930.00 pesos. asia syempre is cheaper.

^sis, you can also check with your travel agent and ask. Tanong mo na lang anong travel insurance ang offer nila. In my experience pare-pareho lang naman mga insurance companies. Nagkakatalo na lang sa premium and anong mga inclusions.

kahit walang travel agent, oks lang sis. may isa pa kaming ginamit before. much cheaper pero hanapin ko lang sa gamit ko yung travel insurance. yung blue cross kasi parang nakasanauan na lang namin.

^It's a requirement if you're going to Europe.

Personally, I always get one even when I go to the US specially kung medyo matagal yung stay. Anything can happen kasi, at least one has peace of mind. Pero kung Asia and domestic, I don't get na.

^I've been meaning to get one for our upcoming US trip (didn't do so the last time). Are we also covered if we're travelling on a sublo basis? Or like, let's say, blocked lang yung flt delay coverage or something like that? I'm travelling with my folks, who want me to get for myself and the kids (we're using stf tkts, they're revenue pax).
