I was able to join the UP training 2 weeks ago. I bought a 4kg kettlebell since I find the 8kg a bit heavy for me.

I just copied a short fat burning program from youtube (link below). I did the routine 4x and super pawis. I'll try doing this for about a month and see if i'll shed off some pounds ;)

Hi vodka4breakfast,

Yeah, that's somehow true -- no pain, no gain. But in working out pain will not necessarily always mean you are on your way to attaining your fitness goal. Ideally, there should be no pain involved when you are doing an exercise correctly. Muscle soreness can be normal especially if you havent been working out lately, or that there are certain parts of your body that got activated when you worked out after a long period of being kept static.

Also, regarding that feeling where your arms are about to pop out of their socket -- i believe that you must be using or isolating your arms to lift the bell to feel that way. In kettlebell training, we all have to bear in mind that there is no such thing as muscle isolation (something we got used to when training with dumbells). Remember that we are carrying here a heavier weight (talking about kilos), and that the gravity carried by the bell will constantly pull us, thus we should know how to properly align & stabilize our body in order to constantly adjust to the changing movement of the bell. In KB training, we use our whole body as 1 unit carrying the weight and producing the energy to perform exercises. That's why many believe that this is what makes KB effective in terms of Fat Loss because each KB workout utilizes energy from the whole body, meaning we need energy thats sufficient to fuel 600+ muscles in our body, so imagine how much fats are burned to produce it?!! Not to mention the "after-burn". A high-intensity KB workout can make you burn for hours even after you workout, and one great carry over effect of this is that it improves & hasten our metabolism. Who doesnt want that?? :o

Kettlebell exercises are found to be good for us women because it helps us develop superior strength, conditions our cardio vascular system, and develops lean muscle. KB exercises works well without any bias to both sexes. Its just a matter of identifying what type of exercise suits you and your level of fitness. The convinience that KB offers suits our needs as women. From cost, time, convinience, to having that fit body that we always desired.

In reality, KB workout will not require you of any expensive machine, exclusive health club memberships to give you a superior body, wide space do the exercises, or even the need to allocate hours & hours just to have a great workout. All we need is discipline, hard work, and living a life that we love without having to stress on how we can be fit & healthy.
