ako rin hindi ko kinaya side effects nito, i was taking Glucophage then.  PCOS din ako

pero after two months of taking metformin, nabuntis ako! 

wow! good for you sis! kaso tinigil ko na talaga ang pag inom at hindi pa ako nakakabalik sa ob ko ngayon.

I've been taking metformin for 2 weeks now. First week Glucophage pero grabe ang side effect skin. Di ko kinakaya ang sakit ng ulo and every afternoon i vomit. Second week Ritemed na yung ininom ko.  Nausea naman ang effect skin...Maybe next week magpapalit ako...
Nagtitiis coz TTC ako and sana [textspeak!] effective ang metformin para di sayang ang pagtitiis

ako mag resume ako ulit ng metformin, kung dati 3x a day, ngayon 2x a day na lang for a month. sana din hindi na ganun ang effect kasama ang sa akin.

yung generic walang effect sa akin, pero yung humamet grabe, poop ako ng poop..

sis, i am a metformin user, this time i took metformin 500mg once a day for a month now, but still wala parin akong period.

ako naman, nagkakaron ng period, medyo delayed lang talaga. so naisip ko na hindi muna ako magttake ng gamot hanggang ready na ako magka baby. kasi base sa mga nabasa ko dito, nag take ng metformin, naging pregnant. hindi ko pa naman gusto magkababy now.

i heard some people indiscrimanately take metformin for slimming purposes..its would bad for your health.

my gyne prescribed me with metformin to lose weight, but you said it's bad for the health (wala ako pcos, my ovary is ok ).

so ano ba talaga? is it good or bad?

hi po ask ko lang po gaano po ba katagal tinatake ang metformin? kc po kagagaling ko lang po kanina sa ob kaya lang po nakalimutan ko itanong kung kasabay na po ng provera yung metformin itatake .. saka kung hanggang kailan ko siya itatake after 1yr pa po kc ako babalik sa ob ko .. 09073381979 yan po num ko .. sana po magreps kau .

kagagaling ko lang po kanina sa ob ko ..she pres. me to take provera for 5days then 3x a day metformin and diane pills but i 4got to ask kung sasabay ko sa provera yung metformin ko or wait ko muna na mag karoon ako kayo po ba kailan nyo tinake yung metformin nyo???

hello mga sis bago lang ako dito.. since nakita ko tong forum nato ngreg narin ako..
i was diagnosed of having pcos kc last january. and the doctor told me to take 3x a day metformin(humamet).. metformin lang cnbi nia ako nlang ngdecide sa brand!

since i am a student d ko naituloy yung humamet kc ngkaka lbm ako, d ako pwedeng gmamit ng toilet sa school because i am not comfortable.. anything to suggest na brand para hndi ako mgkaloose bowel movement?

i missed my period again for 4 mos now.. nakakadepres kasi antaba taba ko na!! lalo akong tmtba to think na i am on diet almost once lang kumain a day... huhu.. help me pls..

mga sis, question lang po, sa mga PCOS how's your blood sugar level?  Ito kasi iniinom kong gamot because I'm diabetic.  I'm wondering lang sa mga nahihilo after taking this, baka mababa masyado blood sugar level nyo?

Diabetic ka ba? I take Metformin and it brings good effect on me. Nakakatulong din yan sa weight loss an my doctors advised me to take it even if I don't have diabetes because it helps the produce insulin. Baka may side effects saiyo kasi may kasabay kang iniinom na gamot. Ito lang kasi so far ang synthetic na iniinom ko. The rest I take are organic.

Metformin is a wonder drug for insulin resistant patients and have changed lives but since PCOS is related to insulin resistance, this is prescribed by doctors too.

I've been taking metformin (1500 mg/day) for years for my pcos and just like all of you, it was hard at first but now i'm used to it after trial and error with techniques.

Here are tips to minimize discomfort like diarrhea and nausea:

- make sure you take the extended release version (this is a more improved with less negative discomfort). Ask your doc about it but there are lot of it available in drugstores.

-Avoid eating starchy carbohydrates and alcohol while on metformin as this will increase your gastrointestinal problems

-Take it after a meal. This is the ultimate key. The moment you finished your meal, take metformin. If you take it without food, your stomach will go haywire.

- it's okay to use immodium

- My trick: I take the first tablet after breakfast in the morning and take the remaining 2 at night after dinner. I do this so that in case my tummy acts out, i'm already at home and won't bother my activities but it rarely happens nowadays.


I've used glucophage and humamet before but switched to I-max which is a little cheaper. Same effects.

Hi mga sis, anyone here gets allergy / allergic with seafoods or any salty foods and too sweet foods when taking metformin? I just really wondered that i developed allergies just last year 2013 and i realized thats when i started taking metformin. Fornidd kasi gamit ko baka dahil dun. Susubukan ko yung imax metformin na ni recommend ni sis @ballsandblush and will update soon kasi i still have stocks of fornidd.

Ive stumbled on this forum that they too developed an allergic reaction when taking metformin.

hi mga sis i am taking metformin with Althea for 3 weeks. pinapahirapan ako ni Metformin sabi ni OB yung pupu will become a lil softer pero daig ko pa umiinom ng slimming tea. huhu. Nag start to ng mag upgrade ako from 2x a day to 3x  a day. Ang hirap lalo kapag nasa office. pero kung ito makakapagpawala ng PCOS ko tiis tiis muna.

Hi mga sis, I'm also taking metformin first 10 day 1 caplet (500mg/cap) at bedtime. now increase dosage na 2 caplet na at bedtime. after 10 day ulit increase po ulit 1 caplet in the morning then 2 caplet at bedtime then tuloy tuloy until I get pregnant na daw sabi ng OB. napansin ko lang side effect sakin is LBM for first 3 days then nakapag adopt naman ang system ko then itong nag increase ng dosage, LBM again hagang mag adopt nanaman ako. Meron din slight nausea pero managable naman.
PCOS din ako, 1 yr na TTC. walang explanation from OB bakit increase until 3 caps a day. I'm confuse.

Hello mga Sis, I was diagnosed with pcos both left and right ovary, may ob asked me to take metformin humamet, 1caplet after meal at night for the first week  then 2caplets per day after meal on the 2nd week kaya lang nag stopped ako uminom kasi aside from the side effect na napapadalas ang pag poop ko eh nagtake ako ng chinese herb medicine. meron po ba sa inyo na nagbuntis after taking metformin at gano katagal before nagbuntis? TIA

Ako im taking metformin I-max for 3 weeks na. Wala ako na feel kht anong bad effects.
