Studios For Baby/Kids Photoshoot

I just want to rant about my daughter's newborn photoshoot. The photographer was Jo Lim, she was recommended by 3 of my friends as they've had the same kind of shoot with her. And some others na ka-mommy group ko who had her as their photog for a family shoot ata.

Anyway, what happened to me was may contract right. Sabi dun, 15 business days from picking the 12 shots for the final edit saka i-Dropbox yung pics. I was able to email her and she replied on December 5. Natapos na ang Pasko and 2018 na hindi pa rin nya pinapadala sa kin. So I nicely wrote her an FB message and an email regarding this (follow-up).

After a day, she sent the photos via Dropbox. She didn't even recognize my sentiment and replied na she already sent the photos, plus kaya natagalan because of my daughter's very flaky skin. What the hell, lahat kaya ng newborn may flaky skin lol. Anyway, moving on to the next part. I checked the final 12 photos and guess what? Sobrang flaky pa rin ng skin ni baby on most photos. As if raw shots sya. Like large areas of the body remained as is.

So I told her, baka naman raw shots ang naiupload nya? She replied curtly that raw shots aren't released in her studio. E di sige. Pakiulit na lang kako yung edits. I took screenshots of the areas na talagang very "raw" ang dating.

It's been a day and wala pa syang reply. As in wala. I'm planning on calling her a few "business days" later if she still ignores me. Very disappointing talaga. She was highly regarded pa man din by my friends and also, the shots they uploaded were really nice (and also yung nasa FB page and website nya). Pero why yung sa akin ganun ganon na lang. Late na nga, pangit pa quality.

^Sis baka naman hindi nya talaga kayang iedit out yung flaky skin na hindi magmukhang overly edited? Im sure she wouldn't release raw pics magreflect din sa kanya yun. Disappointed to hear your review as I was considering Jo Lim too for a newborn shoot. Stork Studio is way too expensive for me, i just dont think I need to spend that much for a few hours.

Does anyone know a newborn studio that controls temperature or plays sounds to get the baby to sleep while shooting? Just curious

^sis, she clearly told me na kaya natagalan was because of the edits. E the photos didn't seem edited! Why would she say that kung hindi talaga ieedit e halos buong leg ng daughter ko super flaky ng itsura. Take a look: https://imgur.com/a/TJL2n

Update: She replied na she will re-edit, without any apology man lang for the late upload sa Dropbox and with what happened. And also, walang timeframe na pinangako when. I'm fed up. If I were you, choose another photographer.

I see sis, maybe hindi lang nya expertise magedit out ng flaky skin especially kung extensive.. baka inedit na nya yan pero ayaw nya magmukhang fake kaya hindi nya tinodo. Ang gaganda nga ng mga nakapost sa IG nya kaya i was interested and inquired. I hope she replies to me soon kasi I want to know rin firsthand if she's friendly.

What hurt me the most was yung sa friends ko perfection ang datingan like in her IG nga. Pero when it came to me nagkaganito. Bakit ganon diba recommended pa sya sakin kaya ganyan. And sis wala bang newborn na walang flakes sa skin? At most 10 days yung baby for the shoot I doubt na super clear na ng skin ng karamihan sa kanila.

Mahal ba sya sis? Like is her pricing simiar to Stork Studio? Kasi if super mas mura sya i might be willing to put up with a few issues. She hasnt sent me her packages.

I sent inquiry to Jo Lim, Luxe Photography, Stork Studio. So far si Luxe and pinakamura but for me Stork ang pinakamagaling. We're still deciding pero I think scratch na si Stork sa option since super pricey siya.

My husband decided against my wishes to book Jo Lim and said we should do the shoot ourselves. Even if we spend 5k on props it would be reusable and we can shoot the baby multiple days and not just once. We're also planning to take an online newborn photography course to ensure we do the poses properly and keep baby safe. Who knows, if we produce really good shots this might even turn out to be a business!

had my 2 yr old photographed sa Great Image MOA. And they have this package na 1900 plus i think. Was taken aback I had to pay almost 3k tapos ang konti lang nun soft copies out of the many pictures that were taken. I thought isesave nila lahat sa USB! Ang mahal and hindi pa nasunod yun ibang pics na gusto ko ipaprint. Never going back. Ok naman yun first time pero nakakaasar etong 2nd time. Ok pa naman sana yun photographer mabait and patient.

Thanks sa tips dito will try them next year..na rip off kami ng Great Image kaasar.

I just booked a photographer. Hindi na din si Jo Lim due to the negative feedback here.
We opted for more affordable one. Kasama na rin ang maternity shoot package.

I'm more excited for my baby.

I never go for photo studios--- super rip off yung packages haha lalo pag di kasama yung softcopies!

And tbh the studio shots just look awful to me hehe even Picture Company we dont understand why people pay that much for it.. it looks so amateur. Kaya gawin sa bahay.

Pero cute yung sa inaanak ko, may canvas print rin na kasama with her footprint. I wonder how much it costs. Altho hindi na pala newborn shoot yun, she was 1 month+ when they had the shoot.

Yung photographer na nabook namin, Home Studio lang. Kaya hindi Stork level ang singil. I saw her portfolio and ok naman mga shots nya.
