I dont know nga why those sites are not considered illegal. Invasion of privacy naman talaga.

Yeah, Google map is cool but the information they put in there makes me uncomfortable.

when i join social networking sites, i make sure to read their privacy policy and make necessary changes to how they share my info to the public. i want to be 'invisible' as much as possible, para kung hahanapin man ako eh dapat naka logon yung tao na yun sa isang sns or magcreate siya ng bagong acct, hindi yung by simple googling eh lalabas na yung profile ko. eeek!

i also don't use one universal name/email add/nickname in all of the sns i join.  in every site eh new email para hindi madaling ma trace. and most specially, never use real name. if applicable, i update my old email or old username to a new one kasi ang mga info natin ay usually naka cache sa mga search sites. hth

Agree ako sa inyo na scary yung mga search engine na yan (spokeo, zaba, intelius etc)

Kahit naman e private yun profile settings mo sa mga social networking na you join pag search mo kitang kita ka pa rin. And the google maps help all the stalkers and psychopaths to know the look of your house and street though hindi na kailangan when your address naman is visible. Haaayyy...

maraming mayayabang na pinoy dito (not all naman, pero marami!) at uso rin ang crab mentality.

kaya when i see a kapwa pinoy randomly in groceries, malls or streets, iniiwasan kong makipagusap. kasi kung hindi tsismosa o usisera,  bumabagyo naman sa kayabangan. 

oh life in abroad, not as fun as it may seem. wala kang ibang pwedeng pagkatiwalaan kundi ang sarili mo at pamilya mo.

I absolutely agree. Isa pang tanong: magkano sweldo mo? Pag nalaman na kasal ka, tatanungin: Pilipino? Pag hindi pilipino, it's like opening a can of worms, lalong dadami ang tanong!

The ugly fact about life abroad that I can attest to so far is, DEALING WITH OTHER FILIPINOS! Although I should say not all, but the majority I meet!

^ ewan ko ba, sa Pilipinas okay lang magtanong ng mga ganyang ka-personal  na questions no.  pero pag dating dito, iba  na ang dating. kasi  ang culture naman dito ay walang pakelaman, tapos all of a sudden pag may nameet kang kababayan eh tatanunigin ka ng mga ganyan nakaka shock lang. so sana maging sensitive at umadapt nalang din ang mga pinoy. wag na masyadong tsismosa at mahadera kung hindi ka-close.

ay meron pa pala, after tanunging ang san ka nakatira, may follow up na " bahay niyo talaga yun o rent?"

The ugly fact about life abroad that I can attest to so far is, DEALING WITH OTHER FILIPINOS! Although I should say not all, but the majority I meet!

This one is so true...kaya nga kami ni hubby, mas marami pa kaming friends na foreigners kesa kapwa natin Pinoy...ewan pero mas malala ata ugali ng ibang pinoy pag napupunta na abroad, pag me nakitang pinoy, kelangan yabangan, hayst...andyan yong sasabihin sa yo ano yong last na binili niya like gadgets, san siya nagpunta...di mo  naman tinatanong... mas mahirap pa makisama sa kapwa Pinoy kesa ibang tao.

Speaking of internet identity matters, I  just have to share a timely experience.

This happened minutes ago.  Someone from an internet website called in my landline to update the order I made a week ago. He was asking me if I will continue with the order and i said no. End of conversation.  I was really puzzled on how did they get my landline number when i did not even create an account.  Hindi ko naman tinuloy yung order so hindi ko nilagay ang personal info and CC details. Hanggang name and email address lang ang input ko. 

Ganun ba talaga dito, na through ip address eh nalalaman nila ang contact num. and they might even know my residence address without typing it at all! scary  tsk tsk, perhaps i need to get a good IP changer para walang trace.. internet is not a safe world to live!

^If your number is listed in the directory, baka doon nakuha.

^^ would be hard to change your ip add everytime. Even if you do your router would have a permanent 'identity'.

Hackers are getting smarter. Email add palang they can get everything from you. Especially with the incident from sony and other companies having security breached.

Another thing pa yung mga no touch credit cards. Yung may mga micro chips, instead of swiping your card, ita tap mo lang sa terminal. Fast transaction nga, fast din pala ma steal yung info mo. So think twice if you're offered this kind of cards.

kaya siguro may mga cases of identity theft dito no. hay naku, dangers of technology nga naman.

Latest na na-hack is citibank... So be wary of emails coming from citi at baka fake/phishing pala.

shocks. sa mcdonalds ganito ang ginagawa sa eftpos nila instead of swiping or inserting your card i-tatap mo nga lang.

^ there are RFID blocking sleeves/holders and wallets for those cards. Im not sure lang if they truly work or if some brands are better than others.
