Best places to eat at Tagaytay

seems like wrong choice of stall ang kinainan namin sa Mahogany market.. sa Amy's kami kumain, hindi malasa ang sabaw ng bulalo nila.. lalo na ang ibang food nila... mahal at hindi naman masarap..


bumili rin kami ng raisin bread from Bag of Beans, ang sarap at sagana sa raisins talaga.. bagong luto pa nung bumili kami..

masarap din ang cassava cake ng colettes pero medyo pricey..

Want to have my birthday breakfast at Bag of Beans. Mga sis who have tried it, kumusta yung Brunch Buffet nila? Worth it ba?

Madals namin binabalik-balikan:

- Sonya's Garden (pag gusto namin relax mode, no-rush meal. Favorite ko yung dalandan juice nila)
- Hawaiian Bar-b-que (sarap ng ribs and crispy tawilis)
- Bag of Beans (usually, for snacks or coffee kami dito)
- Bawai's (authentic vietnamese food)

For bulalo, usually RSM or Leslie's kami. Sabi ng kuya ko, masarap din daw sa Rose & Grace, tho di ko pa nata-try.

Si husband, nasarapan sa Tootsie's, tho ako di ko pa nata-try.

Next plan namin kainan is Antonio's. Husband tried na dun, during team building nila, dun ang isang dinner. Papa-reserve sya dapat two weekends ago, e nag-ask ako sa kanya kung around how much dun. Nasa php4k-5k daw per person so sabi ko hintay kami ng may occasion para sulit ang presyo, hehe. Nag-Spiral na lang ulit kami, para buffet kahit mahal din)

Masarap ang Bawai's, naliliitan lang kami sa serving. So what we do, tig-1 kami ng pho, tapos meron kami 3-4 dishes to share between the two of us (fresh spring roll, pounded shrimp on sugarcane stick, etc etc).

Better to call ahead to reserve para sure na me available table.

Buon giorno at cliffhouse. Marami pang kainan sa cliffhouse na mukhang masarap rin pero mukha ring pricey.

Memory Lane of jolina magdangal. Comfort food! Me and my family love eating here. Nag dinner kami dun, kinabukasan bumalik pa kami for lunch. We enjoyed taking photos as well.

^hindi ko na maalala sis kasi daddy ko nagbayad  masarap yung bulalo nila, tawilis at ang paborito kong sinigang with lechon kawali. Lutong bahay sila, pero ang sarap tapos dun sa balcony ka kakain, feeling mo sa yo yung bahay

Me and my family were at Hawaiian bbq grill in tagaytay last november 10, 2012.  We were disappointed because we ordered the Php750 platter.  It should look like below:

But when it arrived, majority of the clams were not opened (sira na).  The squid were so small that we're 5 in the group, di manlang natikman ng isa yung squid dahil kulang sa amin, it was close to baby squids.  We also had other ulam but we thought this was the best and sufficient pero it turned out, maliliit ang servings nila for 750php.  May I also add the crabs were not big! 3 small crablets that will not be able to feed 5 people.  My only regret is we didn't complain.  Although the sauce was really good, i guess I expected a lot since I am a balikbayan and heard raves from our awesome planet.

Same with the meat platter, still small servings of meat (ribs, etc).  Sauce was very good.  I was charged P4,000 but did not leave us with a well fed feeling.  We had to go to pancake house just to feel full.

Since then, balik Josephine's kami where our loyalty lies.  Bata pa kami, me and my family's default tagaytay restaurant is Josephine's, wala pa yung mga cliffhouse, tagaytay highlands and other restaus.

@ Xtine: hay sis, kumain pa din kami kanina sa Hawaiian Bar-beque at medyo nabwisit ako...5/10 lang food nila.

1. Yung baby back ribs nila, ano ba yun, ilado na.. hindi fresh.. siyempre nanay ako, alam ko ang fresh sa hindi.. namalas pa kami kung kelan wedding anniv namin
ni hubby... hay naku..

2. Masarap naman Bulalo nila, daming utak..

3. Yung fisherman's catch, masarap din.

Big servings sila, pero pricey din, yan lang order namin, bill namin 2,200. Hahahaha.

Daig pa namin nag dampa, eh sa dampa, super sarap saka may take home pa kami.

In fairness to them, mabait staff nila, the waiters eh jolly, so may malaki silang tip.

Pero yung food.. ay grabe namalas kami, super so so yung baby back ribs..

Hinding hindi na kami babalik pa. Try na lang kami sa iba pang kainan..



Dapat sinunod ko intuition ko kasi kami lang kumakain doon kanina hahaha.. Samantalang sa lahat ng madaanan namin like leslie's, rsm, bag of beans, puno ng tao.. as in... oh well.. Lesson learned.

Oks lang yun sis Snowball, charge to experience nlang drama natin.  Sana nag josephines nalang kayo although lutong pinoy with twists, parang hotel ang ambiane at maganda rin service.

^ tama sis.. red signal talaga ang isang place na walang ibang kumakain kundi kayo haha samantalang sunday yun. Oh well.

Try namin yang Josephine's pagbalik namin, mas type ko naman talaga Filipino foods, wala pa ding tatalo sa lutong Pinoy.

Tagaytay never rests to relax the senses. I was at Tagaytay with a friend the other night and we feasted on Bulalo at Diner'ss. Thanks to GT, I knew about the place It's my new comfort food! All worth the toll fees and fuel spent for a fleeting escape.
