^Naku sis, my undergrad grades won't get me anywhere! Sure, I'd love to get a scholarship. Thing is, hindi kataasan yung grades ko noon because I guess, I wasn't happy or I was okay being a mediocre student. Tipong makapasa lang to get this over and done with. Ngayon ko nga lang narerealize na though I enjoyed my college days and I'm currently enjoying my work, hindi pala ako passionate sa ginagawa ko. Somehow nagsisisi rin ako kasi I could've pursued my med school dreams back when my parents are still in the hang of putting me to school. Pero now that they've retired and a special child to take care of, parang ayoko na lang manggambala.

^we had BS Psych people from St. Paul's in our Comp Ana classes in UPM before. They were taking it for med school rin. 

I agree with sis nicaa. It's almost next to impossible to be a working student during med school. Better if you have prior investments before entering =)

To give you a ballpark figure of how much you should have saved, if you're not gonna get help from your parents (in a private med school).

Tuition: 200k/year x 4 years = 800k

Books/stethoscope/BP app/Diagnostic Set/whatnot = 20k/year x 4 years = 80k

Daily expenses/food/uniform/coat/photocopies of transcriptions, putting it in 150pesos/day x 364 = 54,600 per year

Review books for the boards = more or less 5 to 10k

Although, there ARE scholarship programs that will sponsor you for around 50k (?) per sem, such as PinoyMD and FG scholarship (this requires payback of 2 years in far flung areas of the country). All they require from you is to pass every subject =)

^^yep mga sissies I am well aware of the figures. That's why kelangan ipon, ipon and more ipon next year! Tutal, the boyfriend said he can wait for me to finish kasi ang goal nya talaga to get married is 28 or older. Hay! So kung pupush through ako, mukhang yung wedding funds ko eh mapupunta sa med school. Hmm. Makaraket nga

Problem is, tumatanggap kaya ang schools ng naka-graduate na? My hula is, kaya pinayagan yung mga Paulinians na magenroll sa UPM kasi cross-enrollees sila. I graduated 2007, sino pa kayang schools ang tatanggap sa akin?

^within PLM: if you're a Manila resident ID or if you get above a certain grade - not sure what grade exactly, coz I never got that scholarship =( Exams were just TOO hard. Hindi gumana ang college procrastination tactics ko T_T

outside: PinoyMD or FG scholarship. I'm not sure if the First Gentleman Scholarship still exists, though @_@

^around 92kup. ang alam ko na only school na tumatanggap ng transferee is fatima. ust does not accept transferees.
