Please help. I'm an incoming first year medical student. As you all know the tuition fee is kinda pricey and my family's income is just about average... so i was hoping if anyone here is interested in selling 2nd hand medical books for a cheaper price than in bookstores...

Here's the complete list of books I'll need. (preferably in good condition)

(author) (title) (edition)
MOORE - Clinically Oriented Anatomy 6th ed
SNELL - Clinical Anatomy by regions 8th ed
NETTER - Atlas of Human Anatomy 5th
SADLER - Langman's medical embryology 11th
SNELL - Clinical Neuroanatomy 7th
GUYTON - Textbook of medical physiology 12th
MURRAY - Harpers Illustrated Biochemistry, 28th
SADOCK - Kaplan and Sadocks synopsis of psychiatry, 10th
DORLAND - Pocket medical dictionary, 2009

Just PM me the price and the book's title.
Rest assured I'll take care of your books in the event that you sell it to me. I'm kind of a bookworm so I treat my books extra special.

Thank you so much!

Kung hihingi ka ng recommendation letter from someone who is a member of the PCOM Board, make sure na magkakilala kayo (i.e. close family friend, Godparent, etc.). Otherwise, you could be questioned regarding the validity of your recommendation letter. You're not yet a licensed physician, thus it's impossible for you to be connected with PCOM.

Safe pa rin kapag ang recommendation letter/s will come from the school you graduated.

hello mga sis!

i've been reading the posts in this thread to make sure na di na nasagot my question. anyway, i'm not an MD nor am I med stude but my guy is. he will start already his review for the August Board exam next week. i'd like to get your suggestions sana on what I can give him as a gift aside from books. he has most of the essentials na din kasi because his sis took din the Board last year. anything na u think nk.help sa inyo while you were still reviewing. it does not have to be anything elaborate or whatever coz you know how guys sometimes would overlook even the most simple of things hehe yung magagamit nya everyday sa review. thanks mga sis!

Hello there! Magkabatch pala sila ng younger sister ko. She's also taking the boards on August.

Personally, my bf (back then) didn't give me anything (aside from moral support) when I reviewed for the boards last 2007. He was based in another country. Napaisip ako sa tanong mo. Hehe! :)

If he uses highlighters, pwede na iyun. Or pwede naman rosary or a cross pendant (if he's a catholic) as good luck charm/s. Or you can provide him with pencils, an eraser and a sharpener which are essentials for the exams itself.

On the non-material side, you can be with him when he hears masses (for divine intervention), or accompany him if he reviews in coffee shops.

Goodluck and God bless to him. Pag-igihan niya ang pag-aaral niya. :)

^ sis chrome-plated heart, di ko naisip ang vitamins haha oo nga pala noh? anything specific you have in mind? anything that would boost memory or anything that is suitable for people who are on a review. in-house kasi cya sa review center so merienda is out of the picture na.

^ Saan review center siya ngayon?

Personally, I didn't enroll in a formal review center kasi sayang lang yung pera at oras. It was also the concensus from those of the upper batch. However, I attended a 1-week mock-boards exam type of review. After every mock exam, we review the questions & answers and we also get to keep the questionnaires for future use.

I never enrolled in a review center for the boards.. I spent about 2 weeks reviewing, it was a last minute decision to take it.

^thank you sis =) yes, mag retake ako.

Hi. I'm a newbie in this thread... try mo pumunta sa pinoymd.com. Okay dun.. :) hope this helps...

hi doctors! got a question lang, paano nyo po naretain or naconvert into long term memory [textspeak!] mga information fed or taught during your pre-clinical years? paano nyo po na identify ng tama un mga parts/structures sa actual pxs considering na ibang iba un itsura nila as opposed sa mga models/bones/harvested organs and cadavers? i got poor memory kasi, now i know, now i dont, so im thinking of restudying again all those basic subjects during my spare time para maretain sa utak ko, at iwas boljak during internship. thanks :)

Just like what you plan to do - read/open your books, review.

Sa dinami-dami ng inaral natin & sa tagal na nung huli nating inaral, it's normal to forget some details, & we ask from others like "Ano nga ba uli ang tawag dun sa....?" or "Ano nga ba uli ito?".
