^ You said that maraming nakuha na pulmonary secretions before the patient vomitted and eventually nag-code. Have you read in the chart if the patient has acute pulmonary congestion also? Were you able to ask the patient kung may nararamdaman siya (i.e. kung may masakit sa kanya) kaya siya nagwawala?

Going back to your question - I'm leaning more towards CP Arrest 2' to AMI as the cause of his death. Vomiting, diaphoresis are symptoms that he could be having a heart attack.

Yes, pero walang nakalagay na pulmonary congestion. I always ask him if if he's feeling pain or anything pero wala naman daw.

If your college degree is a non-pre-med course, then you have to take additional subjects/units as prerequisites for Medicine. Taking up those additional subjects will take you around 1-2 years. NMAT score is only valid for 2 years. Plan your schedule well.

Listed are the pre-req units for Medicine (I got from another website). Check if you've reached the units from your Tourism course. Otherwise, you have to enroll.
15 units of Biology
10 units of Chemistry
9 units of Math
5 units of Physics
When I took my NMAT almost 10 yrs ago, meron pang 5 units of Social Sciences. I don't know kung kailan at bakit nila tinanggal.

Best school? Lahat sila. It's up to you how you'll do good.

Good luck to you!

Thank you po.. I'm actually starting to complete the required subjects, I'm struggling though coping up naman, right now i'm taking cell and molecular biology subject and most of the topics include biochemistry and I never had biochemistry subject before. I will be able to take biochem next year pa. huhu Hopefully I'll be able to pass NMAT this december. Thank you po. ^_^

The NMAT
result has no validity period but medical schools have their own admission
guidelines.

Some medical schools do not require or do not have prerequisite units in order to proceed to Med School. what school are you eyeing?

Ateneo po sana? If i'll be lucky.

I got 80+ percentile rank sa NMAT ko this April, but di pa umabot for 90 which is a requirement sa UP med, ano anong school magandang choice? i mean, i have 3 choices sa nmat form ko, pero pwede naman mag apply sa iba diba? saan maganda? kasi UST, FEU, saka PLM ang choices ko. advices please. kahit mataas yung result NMAT ko, no guarantee pa rin sa UST at sa ibang medschool kaya mas maganda na marami na alam ko sa background ng medschools bago mag apply. thanks! :)

=( wala akong ganun.

^for female applicants sa UP, dapat 99% ang NMAT score, tapos no grade below 2.00or 2.25 sa pre med subjects. Since maaga ang deadline ng application for admission ng ust, at masyadong competitive ang admission process ng PLM (may limited slots lang sila); you can try FEU. As for ASMPH, UERMMC alam ko maaga din nag end un application for admissions nila.

Thank you po ha!ΓΌ

And isa pa po pala, i can apply to several medschool naman po di ba?

Kasi wala akong ganun eh. Tapos may nakikita akong iba na may mga bagsak nung pre-med and all, pero nakapasok sa medschool na maganda ang background.

Mas preferred nila ang mga male students kasi mataas ang mortality ng mga female students dahil nabubuntis in the middle of of the school year, much worse, habang internship.
Sa plm naman, apart sa standard requirements being asked by medical schools prior to admission, nirerequire nila yung mga applicants to take up MCAT, parang own version nila ng NMAT, pero before you can undergo such, i s screen nila muna thoroughly un requirements mo, for you to be allowed na makapag MCAT.

As for FEU, kung fully decided  ka na mag med ngayon, go, enroll!:) kung hindi pa, you may wish to re-take the NMAT. May classmate ako na nag pre-med sa UPM at thrice nag take ng NMAT just to get in sa UPCM pero she failed to reach that 99%.

At times, nag wo work yung padrino system sa mga med schools, but then again, nasa school administration yan kung magpapadala sila sa mga koneksyon or they will remain objective, na kahit na super lakas ng kapit ng estudyante or applicant sa med school eh di nila pinagbibigyan, so as to stick with the school policy. So need not worry porket wala kang koneksyon. At the end of the day, nasa credentials at sa performance ng estudyante pa rin yan.
May kaklase nga ako nun 1st year who slacked off, laging absent kahit na may mga quizzes and exams. Sa biochem namin, last 2 weeks nalang sya pumasok, kaya ayun, outright failure sya due to absences. Sa ibang subjects naman (Anatomy) although pumapasok sya madalas, since sablay [textspeak!] grade nya, she then need to get 100+% sa final exam para makapag remedials sa anatomy. Sadly, di nya nakuha yun grade na yun(next to impossible naman kasi) so, ayun, inilabas nya ang mga connection nya sa schools who happen to be one of the Med school administrator/s, akala nya mapapagbibigyan sya ng prof namin na makapagremedials sya since gagamitan na nya ng koneksyon, in fact, may letter na sya, pero the prof remained objective, kaya ayun, na outright fail sya sa Anatomy.

You can scout for schools pa naman pero since mid April na din, patapos na un admission process nila. Hope this helps :)

Didn't worked for me. An effective way to develop long term memory is through repetition.

From what I know with UPCM's admission, mahirap nga makapasok ang female applicants - you need to be an honors grad from your pre-med, high NMAT score and has connections - or better yet "mga Anak ng Diyos".

@FOURever - why are you saying that "no guarantee" ka na sa UST eh hindi ka pa nag-a-apply? Like lil_mango, I thought incoming 1st yr ka na. Since incoming 4th yr college student ka pa lang pala, you can re-take the NMAT on December and use your 2nd NMAT score when applying to UST. Aim for a higher NMAT score. Most schools open their admissions middle of 1st semester until early of 2nd semester. Keep yourself updated always. Goodluck to you!

^thank you sis =) yes, mag retake ako.

^ Yes, you may place "to follow" for the NMAT score. They will also ask you the date you took/will take your NMAT. The committee will understand if you say that you will take the NMAT on Dec. 2011. That's what I did years ago when I applied. Wala naman naging kaso nor hassle for me. However if you're NMAT score on the 2nd take is lower, you can NOT retract nor change what you have stated/written in your application form na NMAT score.

Probably the exam you're talking about is "Psychological exam". During my time, it was given on the 1st sunday of January of the following year. All applicants were given the equal opportunity to take the exam, then saka nag-deliberate ang Admissions Committee kung sinu-sino ang 400 applicants na tatanggapin for 1st year medicine.

Recently, iniba na ang process - out of the thousand applicants, they'll just choose 700 applicants to take the exam then they'll get 500 eligible applicants for 1st yr medicine. Also, I'm not sure if the exam is conducted sometime February.

I have no idea regarding the process of admissions in other schools. If magkasabay-sabay sila, it's gonna be your choice, kung ano'ng school ang mas priority mo, and it's a risk you will take. Tama ka, there's no guarantee na matatanggap ka and you might regret it later on. But ganun talaga, it's a gamble. If hindi naman sila sabay-sabay, good for you! You can go through all of the processes and choose later on kung saan medical school gusto mo mag-aral.

There's another forum site for all physicians, medical students and aspiring medical students (maraming threads dun regarding applications & admissions to different medical schools which you can easily relate to). If you still don't know about it & you want to join there, PM me. :) I'll give you the url.
