What vitamins/supplements do you give your dogs?

guys, advice lang, focus on giving a healthy diet and wag tayo magdepend sa supplements para maging healthy sila. let their food be the main source of nutrients, kung healthy ang kinakain nila, supplements are not needed kasi sa food lahat manggagaling ang nutrients. wag natin kalimutan ang meaning ng supplements--this is just to compensate for what's lacking in the diet. kung tama ang diet, di kailangan ng kung ano-anong supplements, pwera na lang pag may sakit.

again, choose them wisely, read the ingredients, dapat natural (plant or animal sources at hindi artificial)

Iniisip ko rin kung anong vitamins ibibigay ko sa lab ko.. Pero ngayon nakaomega fish oil na siya.. Nasanay na din..may calcium din siya kasi large breed yun peone sa mga bone problems.

Iniisip ko kung dadagdagan ko pa eh para lang hindi magkasakit. Ngayon niresetahan siya ng appetason pampagana kasi nga may sakit.. Pero pag nanumbalik na yung gana ititigil ko din..

Raffavit ba is okay as everyday supplement or kailangan din itigil after some time?

may lab din ako puppy palang. naresearch ko nga na prone sila sa bone problems and nagkakarayuma daw. kailangan ba talaga ng calcium? binibigay mo ba everyday?

First vitamins we used was LC-vit because mura lang but then sometimes nasusuka yung doggy in the morning after I give it to him - yellowish liquid (could be bile, could be vitamins, could be both). We were planning to shift na after maubos yung last bottle. Then our very picky eater could not keep down his food for 4 days. We were in a panic na. We were advised by my cousin who uses Nutri-plus. It's good daw for appetite stimulant and for recovering from illness and to give pag di nakakakain. Our bratty shih is doing better on it. Di na nagsusuka in the morning and mas magana kumain compared before. We're still dealing with his pickiness though.

TL/DR; LC-vit and Nutri-plus gel

LC-vit but pag every day ko binibigay parang nagiging acidic. every day fish oil, ginagawang candy after meal, feeling yata dessert nya yun. question, how do you give it to them, nakalagay kase dun after meal with warm water syempre ayaw ko naman ma-trauma siya kung pilitin ko bigyan ng warm water with fish oil so hinahayaan ko nalang whenever he wants to take water basta after dinner nya yun fish oil.

I brush his teeth every night before ako matulog kasi ang kapal na nag tartar nya, khit wala pa syang 2 yrs old. I'm not sure if ma rereverse pa yun pero at least di na nadadagdagan. Mahal ata mag pa cleaning. IDK how much pero sure ako di ko afford. hahaha

Ayaw nya pero pero parang accepted nya as part of life. Hahaha. Lumalapit ng kusa kasi he likes the toothpaste.

Yung pa-cleaning na sinasabi ko is yung high level na talaga with anesthesia involved and vet dentist ang mag scrape ng tartar. Magkano kaya yun?

oh my gulay... sana umulan ng pera. Ang mahal pala. Best scenario is sabay na ang neutering para maka discount cos around 6k ang quote sa kin sa neutering.

Let them chew on them for some minutes (20-30mins) malilinis ang teeth nila in no time. Kahit tartar maaalis. Carbs ang usual cause ng plaque and tartar, hindi talaga sila maiiwasan pag nakadogfood since dogs do not have salivary enzymes (amylase) for processing carbs.

Re teeth cleaning, ang OA naman sa mahal ng 5K na yan.

Hi! I know you have shih tzus and I want to ask your opinion sana. My dog eats mainly dogfood and has always been prone to tartar. Now I've read na maganda pang clean ng tartar sa smaller dogs is beef ribs. I wonder if it's ok to give it to my dog without going through chicken (to ease him into raw feeding) since I would not be feeding him raw except for the ribs to get rid of his tartar. TIA!

@minabey hi based from my readings from different sites and dog groups, meron daw mga dogs na sadyang prone sa tartar, it could be due to their genes. yung 2 shih tzus ko ganyan, mag-ama sila hehe.

re beef bones, according to raw feeding experts and manuals, beef bones are too dense at nakakabungi at upod ng teeth nila so hindi sya advisable ibigay, yung meat lang talaga ang binibigay. Years ago I tried giving one of my shih tzus beef ribs at nachip isang tooth nya. I would recommend pork bones like ribs (i think american ribs and baby back ribs ang tawag sa kanila pag nasa groceries or market) you can buy a slab tapos ikaw na magcut in between. okay din ang pork spine and tails, yung covered pa with meat magaling sila makalinis ng teeth but you have to give it regularly mga 2-3x a week and for some minutes (20-30mins sa mga dogs ko) para malinis ang teeth. Avoid weight-bearing bones like biyas and pata, same reason with beef bones. Ang issue lang pag nagstart agad sa richer protein like pork and beef is loose stools so be prepared for that. pero kung makakain nya yung bones pwedeng wala naman diarrhea na mangyare. always supervise when feeding at iwas sa matatalas na bones to avoid injuries.
