What vitamins/supplements do you give your dogs?

Sis abu, di pala Kirkland yung andito, according to my mom (mas magaling talaga siya sa akin) Naturemade na ginagamit niya. Sent by my aunt from the States. It has a little bit of soy but mostly fish (Anchovy and Sardine). Is that ok?

^how much soy yung nasa label? yung iba kasi nakalagay lang has mixed tocopherols chuva chuchu at walang percentage. kung very minimal like nasa .something lang okay lang naman yun. Pero observe mo pa rin kung ano effect sa kanya, kung effective sa skin and coat at walang changes sa stool. Yung gamit namin, ATC has only .50mg effective naman sa kanila than the others I have tried, Kirkland and Naturalist, so kahit may stocks kami sa bahay bumibili pa rin ako ng ATC

^^try mo until 5ml and see kung mas gaganahan sya. sana mawala na totally ang allergy, try nyo rin magfree-range chicken, para walang antibiotics and hormones. Wala ba syang fleas? Recent ang deworming? Or something sa environment na allergic sya, like pollens, shampoo, detergents? Some dogs kasi are more sensitive than others. Madali sila magreact sa external factors. Okay lang gutumin for one day, basta may water makakasurvive sila.

Sige will try to look for ATC baka mas maganda ang maging effect. Hiyang naman siya dun sa Natureland and his coat is very shiny and soft. Hahaha, tuwang-tuwa yung vet niya sa kanya. Pero baka nga bad yung soy levels para sa kanya. Will check with my mom this weekend.

He was recently dewormed last April but he was also treated with Metronidazole for gastroenteritis. Di naman naadmit thank God but since then, uber weird na yung appetite. Nakakastress kasi it breaks my heart kapag hindi siya kumakain. No fleas, he uses an anti-flea shampoo every 2 weeks and I keep interactions with street dogs to minimum (bihira). Shots are up to date but due for Lepto this 19 and another deworming. Will increse him to 3 ml muna siguro? Then observe. Thanks sis abu!

hehe, I forgot to ask this the other day. Recommended ba ang Hearguard? How often, how much and how do I give it?

^^liverolin is an iron supplement, appetite stimulant na rin.

^heartgard is safe naman, recommended dosage is one nugget every month. pero may isang holistic vet na nagsabi na okay lang kahit every 3-4mos lang sya ibigay to avoid too much toxins since it can kill the eggs and larvaes. may life cycle kasi ang heartworms, around 6mos pa sila magiging adult. so kung maliit pa sila, kaya pa ng heartgard. i used to give it monthly, pero ngayon every 3mos na lang. may link dito about that search mo na lang, or ipost ko pag nakita ko.

Nobody told me kasi what it was and if I should give Heartguard or not. Recommended to give ba sis? If it's my first time to give it, how much should I give? 1 nugget now then after 3 months na ulit?

recommended ang heartworm prevention lalo sa tropical countries and pag malamok ang area, sa lamok kasi galing to. may dosage naman to sis, depende sa weight ng dog yung ibibigay sayo, one nugget then every 3months na lang. para lang syang treats.

sis abu, have you heard the latest news re fish oil adds risk for prostate cancer in human? true din kaya for dogs. nagbabalak pa naman akong bumili for my pogi.

kainis din kasi mga news/studies na yan, pa iba iba... I bet next month good for prostate naman ang sasabihin. hehe

^sayo ko una narinig sis! lumabas ba sa local news? oo nga ang gulo-gulo ng mga studies na yan, di mo alam ano papaniwalaan. pero bilang psych major, ang turo samin noon is wag basta-basta maniniwala unless, ilang studies ang magconfirm, madaming related literature, dumaan sa tamang process, at naprove nilang consistent, valid and reliable ang results, then pwede nating masabing good study, but still may mga limitations pa rin per study.

here are the studies, i find out na hindi naman pala sila gumamit ng fish oil sa participants, but kumuha ng blood sample and found out that high levels of DHA increases the risk of prostate cancer.

Hello. Question lang. I just started giving fish oil to my shih tzu. I gave him two capsules as per suggestion nung brand. Kaso lang late ko na nakita na 995mg pala ang isang capsule. I'm worried. Kung 995mg, dapat ba one capsule per day lang? My baby is just 4 months old

bailey, dosage depends on the providing epa&dha not on the mg of the whole capsule. usually nasa 300mg of epa&dha (just like what you posted) lang yan per capsule. so 1capsule is good for a healthy 30lbs. dog, pag may health issue you can increase the dose up to 3x. pag wala ka makita improvement, dagdag ka pa.

wowry, ang alam ko since dogs have a strong immune system, they can produce their own vit. c, that's why mas advisable sya ibigay during stressful conditions like before/during vaccines, travel, occasions, or kung may sakit.

Hi im a newbie here!
I really need alot of help, i recently got a shih tzu as a birthday gift, his name artemis maximum magnificent "jackpot" we didnt change it na baka kasi sanay na sya tinatawag na ganun coz he's 8mos old already when i got him.

DOB: dec 12, 2012
right now he currently weighs 4kg
I feed him half a cup of royal canin mini junior twice a day
500ml of water with 1ml of organic apple cider vinegar everyday

Now my questions is what vitamins should i give to him?
I read lc-vit and raffavit is ok and coat shine. Couldnt find raffavit so i got lc-vit & coat shine nalang.
how many ml of lc-vit and coatshine should i give to my 8mos old shih tzu everyday?

^hi congrats on your new puppy! i think he came from artemis line, hence the first name. anyway, pwede nyo pa rin palitan ang name nya, dogs can cope with new names naman kahit adults na sila 

usual dosage of vitamins for adults is 3ml-5ml, meron yan sa label check mo nalang. you can start at 2.5ml-3ml pero kung walang effect after a week, increase the dose up to 5ml. coat shine is more on vitamin a, minimal lang yung epa&dha nya, if you want a good coat supplement, fish oil is your best option. btw, raffavit can be found @ pet express and dogs and the city.
