When you mean raw as in walang cooking? Pwedeng mix of different meat yun like chicken , pork, beef, liver? And yung  fish oil pwede ba yung for humans o may specially made for dogs? Thanks so much!

^yes sis, no cooking involved.  but before you start feeding raw, research research research muna talaga and see if it will work for your dog, as some ingredients require specific preparation.
i've heard a lot of very good feedback from dog owners who do raw feeding. if you browse online, you can see before and after pics of dogs who've been raw fed.

i don't feed purely raw food but half cooked lang because it's what works for my dogs.
i also give them fresh fruits and sometimes left-over green smoothie (no sugar)  kasi we drink it almost everyday. super mura ang fruits and veggies sa province namin and my sister and titas often give us fresh produce from their own gardens.  i no longer buy dog treats since way healthier and much cheaper ang fruits and veggies. on special occasions, i bake  dog treats for them too :)

with regards to the ingredients, i switch it around every week. like now it's lean pork+squash+carrots (no salt or seasoning added), you may add a very small amount of rice. next you can switch to chicken (walang bones if you cook it) or liver, or mix a bit of both.  but seldom lang ang liver kasi too much is bad for them.  you can also include a small amount of green leafy veggies.
don't switch the menu too often or make the ingredients too complicated as this causes stomach upsets.
and take note of the following ingredients:
- onions are toxic to dogs and cats,
- garlic is a litte toxic but allowable in very small amounts as a tick repellant.
- avocadoes, grapes, and raisins are also toxic.
- potatoes are not recommended because they may cause stomach upsets
      - i tried feeding this to my dogs, and they tend to vomit it out.  i get a similar reaction from    sayote so i no longer include these ingredients in their food

just see what your dogs like, and check if it's safe for them :)

^yes sis hilaw talaga, we have a thread here on raw feeding search mo lang. pero kung gusto mo naman homecooked, super dali lang din. boil mo lang ang meat, start ka muna with one type para di maupset ang tummy, tapos once masanay na you can add a bit of another type. importante no bones, skin and fats masama kasi yan pag luto pero pag raw very nutritious sa kanila. then add some rice or oatmeal, veggies like carrots, pumpkin, potatoes, sayote, chopped leafy greens. way better yan than any dogfood in the market. sa ganitong diet lumaki mga alaga ko, yung isa nagkadistemper pero nakasurvive pa rin. yung fish oil mas maganda kung human grade, regulated kasi yan unlike sa pet products, di tayo sure sa quality. Gamit namin is ATC, local brand sya. dosage for a healthy dog is 100mg of EPA&DHA for every 10lbs, kung may health issue or feeling nyo walang improvement, increase the dosage.

^^hi sis i can totally relate with you ;)

I tried the fish oil, hehe, ok lang ba na binubutas ko siya and I mix it in with his food kasi natatakot akong machoke siya. What's the recommended dosing? 3x a week ko lang binibigay sa kanya. Is that ok? :)

^okay lang butasin as long as kinakain. yung isa kong dog hate na hate ang fish oil kaya kailangan ko pa ipitin sa meat. Pero yung isa binibigay ko as is, gustong gusto nya.

I just posted the dosage, ang fish oil (omega 3) mas maganda kung mas marami, wala naman syang gaano side effect kundi loose stools hehe. check nyo yung amount ng EPA&DHA sa label. usually ang total nyan is around 300mg, kahit 900-1000mg yung capsule, mababa yung amount ng omega 3 nya. so 1 capsule is good for a 30lbs healthy dog. kung gusto gumanda ang skin and coat add lang kayo.

^much better kung everyday, marami kasi syang benefits, aside sa skin good din sya for the heart, joints, reduces inflammation, etc. kumbaga overall supplement na sya. usually omega 3 ang lacking sa diet kaya nagkakaron ng health issues. yung food kasi natin has lots of omega 6 (inflammatory) so nagkakaron ng imbalance. giving fish oil will correct it.

^sis abu anong reliable brand ng fish oil na not too expensive and hindi smelly?  I read kasi na not all fish oil supplements are effective and some may contain mercury?  :o   and hindi daw recommended yung kirkland, eh yun pa naman one of the known brands dito.
Now i want to  try giving my dogs fish oil again ( hindi nag work before kasi isusuka lang nila)
si booboo nag she-shed ulit and hindi na rin as shiny yung coat nila :(  i also used vco but usually kasi naa-upset din stomachs nila so i seldom use it.
Do you think Nature Made brand is ok? i saw a few reviews on amazon ang mukhang ok naman :)

^im using a local brand, ATC. okay naman so far at laging available kaya dito nako nagstick. mixture of different fishes ata ang gamit dito like mackerel, sardines.

usually yung bigger fishes daw ang may mercury like tuna and salmon, at sa US ito rampant. ang alam kong reason with kirkland is bec. it has plant-based matters like soy oil & tocopherols. kapag fish oil kasi the purer the better, as much as possible walang soy, tocopherol, vit. e (they're all the same). so dyan sila nagkakatalo, no matter how sikat/expensive the brand is, pero kung may plant sources, fail na agad yan. so sa ingredients kayo lagi dumirecho when searching for a good brand. i'm not familiar with Nature Made brand, pero kung fish oil lang ang ingredient, go ako dyan.

^ oh i see, thanks much sis abu! :) i thought kasi ok lang yung may plant based ingredients kasi i also prefer to use veggie capsules vs the regular ones na made from animal cartillage daw (yung empty capsules lang, then you can put whatever you want inside).  not good pala for dogs ang soy oil, vit e?
[textspeak!] will try ATC out again, i think yun din yung nabili ko before eh.  hope hindi nila isusuka this time  :-\

^walang anuman sis! akala ko rin before okay na kahit anong fish oil, pero nung nagresearch ako about  raw feeding, experts said na mas maganda daw talaga kung walang halong vegetable matters yung supplements nila, since hirap sila to digest plants, and some are even bad for them. kahit sa dogfood, hindi advisable ang soy products, here's a good explanation: http://healthypets.mercola.com/sites/healthypets/archive/2012/03/28/avoid-using-soy-on-pets.aspx

try mo sis ipitin sa meat or liver, offer mo lang daily para masanay. si abu halos wala ng paki sa fish oil as long as nakaipit sa meat, di na nya niluluwa.

alam niyo ba if meron nito sa Dogs in the city? yong nasa trinoma?

sis abu what supplements do you give sa babies mo since home cooked/raw ang food nila?

Waaah! Bad pala yung Kirkland?

:( I give it everyday kasi kapag hindi siya nakakainom, he barely touches his food. And hindi din siya kumakain sa mornings. I don't give it on an empty stomach though, nagsusuka siya e.

Sis abu: nag take effect na ata ang 3ml for chuck(3months old).
Continue lang din kami sa fish oil, 2caps a day and so far minimal ang effect.

Naglabasan nanaman ang allergies nya and ear infection.. Mapapanis kasi un pagkain since home cooked kami diba.
