Update on Papi vitamins, naubusan kami so tinry ko na wala munang supplement si Abu just to see kung same pa rin appetite nya.

I'm using a local brand kaya siguro mas malansa hehe.

^^madali lang sis once masanay ka ;) the good thing pa with raw feeding is pwede kang kumuha ng uulamin sa food nila and vice versa haha!

^nabasa ko na rin ang cranimals and got interested pero feeling ko okay naman kami sa fish oil and Raffavit/Papi. Berries ang main ingredients ng cranimals and based on the analysis, mataas ang ALA omega 3 nya, but since dogs are carnivores and do not have the ability to convert ALA to EPA&DHA, much better pa rin kung animal ang source ng omega 3. Pag fish oil kasi readily available na ang EPA&DHA, no conversion needed. So I still believe na much better pa rin kung animal ang source ng supplements nila

Hello i dont know if im on the right thread pero hindi ko na kasi alam gagawin ko andami sugat ng dog ko galis na ata may mga meds na siyang iinom kaso worried talaga ako andami na niya sugat. Na encounter niyo na ba yung ganto with your dogs? How long bago sila gumaling?

before, when i still fed them dog food,  i gave them Nupro food supplement kasi they were sickly and had skin problems.  I also gave this to my sister's old labrador,  who was starting to get joint problems.  Compared to the other supplements I've used, Nupro showed the most results.
I got the biggest tub and it lasted me for several months.  they also seemed to like the flavor very much, unlike other traditional vitamins na i have to chase them around pa and force them to drink, hehe :)

currently, i don't give my dogs any vitamins or supplements na, as advised by my vet. since I've switched them to homecooked food, they haven't gotten sick or had skin issues in almost 2 years. And they all look healthier and livelier than ever.  Dati kasi they always get ehrlichia, but now thankfully wala ng symptoms  even if they get bitten by the occasional tick. I guess their immune system is much stronger than before.

xoxojoy, chows have sensitive skin, add mo pa yung kapal ng coat nila, baka humina immune system nya dahil sa panahon. baka pwede nyo sya ishave para makahinga ang skin?

kung maganda ang food, hindi na kailangan magsupplement. malaking factor kasi ang diet sa health nila, good diet = healthier pet. kung gusto mo sya gumaling switch to a better brand or homecooked or raw. kung healthy naman ang diet, the only needed supplement is fish oil. yung ibang vitamins like vit c, usually binibigay lang yan under stressful conditions. try mo magpalit ng food baka gumaling sya. sa supplements naman I recommend raffavit, fruits and veggies ang laman nya, much better than synthetic ones.

share ko lang, my bulldog had mange years back, ang food nya is rotation of homecooked, canidae, sawdust, raw. I am very choosy with his food pero ginalis pa rin. taon din inabot namin sa gamutan, akala ko nga forever na, then I did some research. I found out na lumalabas ang mga sakit nila pag mahina ang immune system, so the only way para gumaling and to prevent illness is to keep their immune system at their best. I switch him completely to raw feeding, I stopped his monthly injections, at ayun never na bumalik ang galis. Mahal ang gastos ko sa pagkain nila, I stocked meats every week, I buy premium dogfood, pero hindi ko na iniisip ang gastos kasi nakikita kong healthy sila.

maraming dogs ngayon ang nagsusuffer due to low quality dogfood, hindi kasi fit for human consumption yung ingredients nila. so wag kayo manghinayang sa pagkain, kung human grade yan magiging healthy ang alaga nyo, it will save you from vet bills and heartaches.

^totally agree with sis abu, give your dogs quality human grade food. you can't believe all the crap they put in most commercial dog foods. basic rule: if you won't eat it yourself, then don't give feed it to your dogs :) and do familiarize yourself din sa mga foods that are toxic to dogs.

ang usual reason ng iba for not switching to home cooked or raw food is expensive daw or mahirap i prepare. well based on my experience, very little difference lang ang expenses ko for home cooked vs. commercial dog food.  and i've saved so much of the money i would have otherwise spent on supplements, medicines, vet bills. dati nagkakandarapa pa ako to borrow funds from my sister for emergency vet visits  :P

with regards to preparation naman , i just chop up fresh meat and veggies and throw it in the steamer for about 5-10 minutes, yun lang.
for treats,  gusto nila watermelon, bananas, apples, or carrots... and the occasional pandesal, hehe . mas ok nga now wala na masyadong masasayang na fruits sa bahay kasi whatever is left, i give it to them before they spoil.
once a week a give them big bones  to chew on - for healthy teeth and gums.  super mura lang, di aabot ng P50 ang 4pcs. i just dunk it in hot water for a minute para maalis yung bloody parts (cooked bones are harmful to dogs since they tend to splinter)
nakakatuwa when i  watch over them while they chew bones ( take the bones away pag walang naka supervise) and nanggigigil talaga sila sa pag gnaw and chew. then they give me sloppy kisses after as if to say " thank you for the yummy food mommy!" trust me mga sis, you can really see the difference even in just 1 week :)

ok, super OT na ako so back to the main topic na, hehe.  the only commercial supplement i can suggest right now would be nupro, if they have appetite, joints, and skin problems. For minor issues, stick to natural remedies first
