I'm kinda dissappionted with the Kindle Fire and Kindle Touch. Daming bad reviews din sa ibang peeps. Though for the price okay siya for a 1st ebook reader/media player. Kahit it can't do as much as an iPad or other tablet that's out sa market.

Yung Silk browser is not fast as they try to make it to be sa advertisement nila. At ang diko na gandahan sa Kindle Touch eh wala yung page turn BUTTONS sa left and right like sa Kindle 4 (no keyboard) and K3 (Kindle Keyboard).

I think mas maganda pa yung K3 and doable na din yung K4 kasi may page turn buttons cya. Kasi yung sa Kindle Touch if you need to turn page forward always sa right e-to-touch mo. If previous page sa left ng screen e-to-touch mo. If you're so engross sa book nakakainterrupt siya sa flow.

I got my Kindle Touch today!!! Hayz~ Pwede bang ma-in-love sa isang bagay?  Comparing it to my tablet, napaka-responsive ng screen nya lalo na sa on screen keyboard kaya ang daling magtype~ Pag turns are also fast and clear~ Wala na naman akong tulog nito!

My friend got the Kindle Touch na. Kaso nasa US pa siya. Might get hold of it on the 26th. Excited na ako.

My short review of the Kindle Fire:

I love it~ It's my first Kindle and I like that it's small but big enough na to read books comfortably.  Before kasi I use only a Kindle reader for my iphone.

I guess kung nageexpect ka na all-in-one tablet ang Kindle Fire then you're bound to be dissapointed. One, limited ang apps nya kung outside the US ka though may walkaround naman dito since may site na pwedeng gamitin to get apps.

Two, hindi sya singbilis ng ipad2.

Pero if you're like me na ang gusto lang naman eh Browsing, Email capability and Reader (kasi I do love reading books kaso hassle magbasa sa iphone) and ayaw ang size ng IPAD2 (ang hirap itakas sa bathroom para magread eh haha) then matutuwa ka siguro.

I did not have super high expectations for this. I mean $199 USD lang sya so I can't expect na comparable sya sa IPAD2 haha which is okay kasi I don't need the full capabilities of IPAD2 naman. So yes, I'm happy with my purchase :-) Best for me is that it's small enough that I can bring it anywhere (kahit sa CR or coffee breaks) and di sya mapapansin ng gaya ng IPAD :-)  I also like that matagal ang battery power nya for me, almost two days if I turn off the wifi~

So that's my short review. :-)

BTW, while in Pinas this weekend I asked around sa Market Market the prices of Kindle Fire (meron na kasi silang display eh).

Lol, one store offered it to me for 19.4k pesos! Napatawa ako ng malakas! x2 ang price?!

Another shop naman sells it for PHP 13.5k, pag cash daw discount ng 1k, so 12.5k :-) expensive pa rin haha. eh yung friend ko tinubuan na ako ng 1.1k eh 9.8k lang singil sa akin :-)

^thanks for the review.i'm really eyeing to buy kindle fire, i think this suits my needs.  ang gusto ko lang makapag browse & read ebooks comfortably & at an affordable price. unlike yung laptop na ang bigat at di ko pwede i open anytime anywhere.  my friend from the US will be coming home this christmas.  makakapagpabili nko.

ano palang file formats ang supported nya?  can it read ms word, pdf, powerpoint presentations, ms excel?  tsaka nakakapag play sya ng media files?  TIA.

^Yep pwede. May Quick Office Application for the MS Office files :-) AVI I havent tried eh but I guess pwede kasi nakakadownload ng movies from Amazon and pwedeng magtransfer ng media files to Kindle, but di ko ginagamit kasi yung feature na yun haha. Iphone gamit ko pag yung mga movies na. For reading and browsing and email talaga ang Kindle Fire for me :-)

Thank god I didn't get the Fire, then. Tama yun decision ko antaying yun "iPad 3" hehe. I still love my original Keyboard Kindle. At least yun talagang dedicated eBook reader, and okay pa rin yung battery. If you want a reader, yun talaga yun pinakamaganda, no frills.

^yeps. ang lamang lang naman ng Kindle Fire sa old Kindle readers is colored na so mas maganda for magazines :-)

^ay, grabe sis, nagtanong din ako ng Kindle Keyboard nun sa Market Market... tumataginting na 15k!!! Three times the price! Naloka ako! XD

micro USB. you have to buy the micro USB to USB port. mura lang din naman, here in Korea mga 200 pesos lang~

ako din im happy with my kindle keyboard. i think much better pa din yun kesa sa kindle touch or fire medyo weird lang kasi dati mga 2 weeks tinatagal nung battery pero this time parang 3-4 days na lang sya. is there something wrong with it?

Parang ambilis mag-low batt ng Kindle ko. Or hindi ko lang napu-fully charge? Gaano katagal ba dapat mag-charge?

@ blackshirt13 I'm expecting kasi na tatagal ng 1 month yung battery. Parang around 2 weeks lang, pero naka-stand by kasi siya, hindi ko tinuturn off.

^ anong model nga pala kindle mo sis? AFAIK, yung e-ink kindles ang matagal ang battery life. yung kindle fire mas mabilis kasi kumukunsumo ng power yung backlight nya.
