^No camera, no mic for the Amazon Fire i am not sure how one could adequately use Skype with those device limitations.

^That's why I think Amazon is careful not to call it a "tablet". Kulang kasi talaga siya sa features. But given the price point, cool na di ba?

^ looking again at fire's features here, it would more appropriately be called a multimedia player/library. the document support almost seems like an afterthought, in case workaholics need to verify a report or something in the middle of watching a movie.

^ LOL correct. Now I'm thinking I'll get a better actual tablet na lang, like Galaxy tab, then keep my Kindle at home for serious reading (at night). The tablet can be used for light reading during day time, but the Kindle's battery is great for marathon reading sessions.

im planning to buy kindle fire this christmas gift ko sa sarili ko, is it ok to pre order or wait till its actually out para malaman ko kung worth it ba based s mga magiging reviews? if ever 1st e-reader ko sya. sa mga kindle user ok ba siya in general?

re kindle fire - please note comments above kasi since its colored, di sya E-ink technology so if you'll primarily be using kindle fire as an ebook reader, better i think to get the kindle with e-ink technology as its easier on the eyes (less strain) and the battery life is much better.

better i think to wait for reviews muna - coz that's what i'll be doing

waiting for review of Kindle Touch para i'll know which to get - the old kindle keyboard or the new one na kindle touch as i'm after getting an ebook reader as i already have a tablet - iPad2 anyways

i think wait na nga muna ako for reviews before getting it, gusto ko din sana talaga yung fire kasi parang multi media n sya, wala naman kasi akong tablet and i dont have the need to bring a laptop all the time, so ok n sana yung fire, pwedeng games, movies, songs and e-reader, pero syempre pinaka importante yung pagiging e-reader niya bonus n lang yung iba

is a full color Kindle - so for this model, its not E Ink technology for the display but rather vibrant color IPS display as indicated on link above. Also, its the model with the lowest batter life at 7 hours compared the usual kindle with e ink tech (kindle wifi, touch, keyboard, dx etc) that has a battery life ranging from 3 weeks to 2 months. Though Kindle fire has biggest storage at 8GB compared to the usual 4GB

so this would probably have a glare unlike the one with e ink pearl technology wherein no glare.

I guess I have to wait din ng reviews kaso lang ang worry ko baka mag super mahal naman pag dumating na dito compared sa pre order and when I read here na 7hrs. lang ang battery life eh di parang ipad2 na din? So now I'm torn between ipad2 and KFire, I both love to read and play games kasi eh.

I'm also torn what to buy. I want to buy Kindle Fire and the Kindle Touch 3g ($149-189) or Wifi ($99). Yung Kindle wifi $79 kasi pagmagkatabi sa K3 mas maganda pa din screen sa K3. Keysa Kindle wifi na $79 (no keyboard).

I want to see how Kindle Touch looks like, yung screen nya. Also yung Kindle Fire will be good for my baby or hubby and the price is good na for $199 only.

Though I want to get an iPad 2 also since the apps I bought for my iPhone will work also for my iPad. No need to buy the same app for Kindle Fire.... Hayyy, I can't decide...

Sis blackshirt13, you can import your collections na into Calibre and make collections using calibre too. Mas madali. I don't know lang kung transferable to another Kindle :p
