I was diagnosed with 1cm polyp sa lining ng uterus ko. It grew from .6cm to 1cm, no prominent symptoms. Accident lang na nakita during my pregnancy last year kasi nagpa-ultra sound ako.

I really have no idea how to deal with my polyp. Can you please enlighten me on how will be this treated (d&c, hysteroscopy) etc...? Sa asian hospital ako nagpapa check up, let me know if may idea kayo how much the treatment will cost me. Thank you mga sis!

hi sis when i was admitted in Manila Doctors for a D& C procedure I only stayed for 2 days. Parang nanganak ako ng normal. When i saw the billing 27K+ di pa kasama un Philhealth ko dun.

sis I was also just diagnosed with having an endometrial polyp, it's almost 9mm (0.9cm). I only found out about it because I've had my period for 4 weeks already, I thought it might have to do with my cycle re-establishing itself because I just ave birth 3 months ago.

My OB said I'll have to undergo D&C to remove the polyp, otherwise my bleeding will continue until I remove it. I've tried researching online also but everything is saying that the only way to get rid of it is via curretage. I feel bad coz my body just healed from giving birth (though it was normal) and I have to go thru this procedure again. My OB said it can be an out-patient surgery naman and no rest needed, but I might take a week off work rin to rest up, again because I just gave birth a few months ago.

My OB also said it must have been there before I was pregnant, though the ultrasounds never detected it. Some online sites say that it causes heavy menstrual bleeding and clots which was something I always experienced with my periods prior to my pregnancy, so most likely the polyp really was there before.

I'm in the same boat as you, I don't know what to do now, should I undergo the procedure or get a second opinion or delay the procedure? Cost wise I think it would cost 30-40K. I have a HMO via my company but I need to confirm if they will still cover this as I used up most of my maternity entitlement when I gave birth. I feel fine but of course I want the bleeding to stop na

Naku hindi ko alam..i had d&c last april 2011 due to blighted ovum, sobrang na sad ako kasi first baby sana after one year of getting married.  Now after almost exactly one year same month ko din kasi nalaman buntis ako this March lang and then after two weeks although may fetal pole na hindi daw nagdevelop masyado si baby kasi at 6 weeks and 6days maliit pa din at wala pa din heartbeat, super nasad ako kasi parang ganitong ganito din nangyari last year, same month March ko nalaman pregnant ako and then this April naman magpapa D& C ulit ako. 

Thanks for the info mga sisses ha, nakalimutan ko na ipagpray si 1st baby wala din siya name kasi dugo pa lang daw siya, lagi ko lang pinagppray na sana magkababy ulit kami.  Ayain ko si hubby sa church para ipagsindi namin siya ng kandila at ipagpray na din.  This second pregnancy, hoping pa ako na humabol pa siya at magkaheartbeat e, although rare daw un case na yun kasi kahit yun ob ko ata di pa naexperience na magkapasyente na naging success after waiting, handa na rin naman ako sa possible outcome, in my heart kasi gusto ko gawin lahat ng posible options para kung anuman ang mangyari ginawa ko lahat para kay baby.

how are u na sis? did your doctor recommend for an APAS test? kung recurring yung miscarriage and hindi nagdevelop sa tama yung fetus , symptoms din yun.

I visited my OB, aside from D&C and hysteroscopy she gave me a third option... i forgot what she said pero parang bleeding curetage ata ang sinabi niya.

She prescribed me a medicine, pang bleeding daw... heavier than your ordinary menstrual flow. She's hoping na baka sumama sa ang polyp sa menstruation ko. Then after my bleeding period ultrasound ako ulit to check if meron polyp pa rin.

If hindi matanggal sa bleeding, she adviced that i will undergo hysterectomy. Mas sigurado daw sa hysterectomy, medyo expensive but sure ka daw na tanggal ang polyp. But she also cautioned me that polyps do recur.

Sa asian ako nagpapacheck up but she recommends to have my hysterectomy (if matutuloy) sa Medical City. Mahal daw kasi sa asian and hysterectomy require a 2 day stay sa hospital due to preparations.

Double haaaaay.

What's the name of the meds if you don't mind? Maybe it's something I can ask my OB as well. She didn't raise that as an option e.

Parang they will put a scope inside then pag nakita ang polyp, they will get the polyp mismo. Unlike sa D&C, no need daw to scrape the whole uterus.

Sige sis, i will check my files... hanapin ko yung prescription na binigay sa akin.

sis khriseeee, ako yung polyp ko before was removed via fractional d&c. its not as aggressive as a full blown d&c. you might want to ask your ob about it. meron pang isa, i just forgot, yung may aid ng camera.

May I ask how was the 1st menstrual period post-d&c? When did it become like the usual period (before the D&C)?

I'm really worried because I had D&C April6, then my period came 7 weeks after. It is very light (almost like spotting) and I also have slight menstrual cramps. I'm not pregnant so I know this is not implantation bleeding. My usual periods are heavy and always have painful cramps.

I was hoping to get ideas from other girls who had D&C before I go to my OB this coming Friday.

I underwent D&C almost 5 years ago due to blighted ovum, first pregnancy at 9w, prior to that I was diagnosed to have polycystic ovaries pero pinag pills lang ako ng OB. Have I known the possibility of misdiagnosed blighted ovum, I could have waited for a spontaneous delivery, baka may bata na nakita then...
Pero after 2 months of my D&C, no contact kami ni hubby then unexpectedly got pregnant right after. My daughter is now turning 4 y/o and TTC kami.

My 2nd D&C was April 2012 (chemical pregnancy) - Cardinal Santos Hospital in Greenhills. Inabot ng 30k. I was outpatient, 12nn - 8pm lang ako sa hospital. OB's PF was only 12k, I forgot the fee for the anes.

I think hospitals have packages/fixed rate for outpatient D&C.

        9 weeks na po ako pregnant ng bigla ako nag bleeding... nang ultrasound wala ng heartbeat ang baby ko..di pa ako ma d&c kc di pa daw open sabi ng doctor ko...kaya pinapainom niya ako ng gamot..ang prob ko po ang mag 2yrs old ko 1st baby na nag breastfeed parin sakin...

        hindi ba makaka apekto sa 1st baby ko pag inom ko nag gamot at yung di pa naalis na 2nd baby ko plz help ...

@happyfemme: About the PF, depende sa OB yun. Anes PF will depend on OB's PF (by percentage). Ask ka sis ng D&C package kasi mas mura yun. 20k ata all-in na. I did not avail the package because I wasn't expecting to have a D&C. Kaya ng katawan natin ang procedure. Basta pag-uwi ng bahay, rest for a few weeks.
yung una kong D&C, profuse bleeding na ko by the time I was admitted kaya onvernight ako until na control yung bleeding and dapat no pain.  Yung 2nd time, outpatient na kasi parang regular menstruation lang ako so sabi ko kay OB, gusto ko outpatient. Pumayag OB ko kasi wala naman naging prob. Sundin ko lang daw home instructions and dapat kotse ang sasakyan pauwi. Bawal naka-motor. 2 hours after ng operation uwi nako. Hinintay lang mawala effect nung anesthesia. Di kasi sila naDischarge ng groggy patient. Nga pala, dapat 6hours walang kain para prep sa general anesthesia. E kumain ako nun ng lunch before pumunta ng CSMC kaya wait ng 5pm sa room before ng operation.
Kulitin mo na lang OB mo for more info. esp. how they will do the operation about your case.

^^ did you mention to your OB that you're breastfeeding your 1st child?  you should tell her that.  for sure alam nya answer sa question mo.  we cannot answer for you kase hindi mo rin naman minention in particular what meds were prescribed to you.  pero that's alright,  baka mamaya may mga magpplan mag-abort na makabasa tapos gamitin pa yan 

 there are other ways to open your cervix without taking any medicine.  example yung parang stick na pag ininsert inside your V, will expand and naturally open your cervix, sorry i forgot the name. or  maglakad-lakad ka lang sa village nyo pwede ka na mag-contract. or kahit hindi man,  your body's defense mechanism will naturally try to eliminate the baby in time.   im not an expert, so please ask your Ob asap para di naman kawawa si 1st baby.

My OB told my D&C can be an outpatient procedure, she even told me I can go to a party later that same evening! Personally I would just rest at home for a few days.

So sad naman sis, I also had miscarriage last may, Dr. Novero told me I have 3 options naturally, d&c or they will put a kind of gel to induced. We choose the natural way sabi Nya wait daw kami ng 2 weeks pag di pa lumabas mamili kami Kung gel or d&c. Luckily a day after our visit nagstart na ko magbleed. He also said hinde Nya inaadvise ang d&c kase ninipis ang lining ng uterus lalu na sA mga ttc. Ask your Ob para Mas safe sis.

Anyways, about my polyp...

My doctor precribed a medicine, provera ang name. Sabi niya expect "heavy bleeding" during my period, and she is hoping na sana daw sumama ang polyp during my mestrual period. Ayaw daw muna niya akong galawin.

Pero heto at sawi, kaka-TVS ko lang today... visible pa rin ang polyp ko.

I went to her clinic, she discussed my options... D&C or hysteroscopy...

If siya ang tatanungin mag hysteroscopy nalang daw ako... makikita daw agad ang polyp at alam kung saan tatanggalin dahil they're going to insert a scope-camera inside. Unlike sa "blind D&C" kinakapa lang daw. Sa isip-isip ko lang, bakit may mga sisses naman tayo dito na successful ang D&C nila diba? Wala naman akong naririnig na nag fail ang D&C nila.
 
Medyo expensive ang hysteroscopy, kaya heto ako at nalilito talaga kung anong pipiliin.

@sis angel_ko - sis, tell your OB that you are still breastfeeding. Its better to tell your OB para alam din niya ang pwedeng prescribe sa isang breastfeeding mom.

omg ang mahal na apal ng dnc ngayun? 2006 first and last ko 30k sa asian but free naman ang pf kasi mom ng bestfriend ko.

ladybunny : ako din hindi inadvise dr novero so natural lang yung last ko kasi naexpel ko naman na lahat. 2 days after i went to US. Bleeding light na pero omg i can remember the pain sa plane. I had no choice at that time may family emergency kami. Ni hindi ko na nagawang umiyak pa.
