We just bought a 50 sqm townhouse unit. From the main door kita agad yun bathroom's door. Ano ba okay na ilagay as divider, one-way opaque glass (meron ba nito?) or wood? Kasi malapit din sya sa dining table if ever. Ano magandang tiles for the living room to make it look spacious? My archi/ID friend will be helping me with designing the place kaya lang pro bono kasi kaya ayoko naman iasa sa kanya lahat though syempre we'll be coordinating from time to time para hindi naman mukang circus yun house. Sa stairs, okay ba vinyl tiles?

^^either french divider with frosted glass panes or shoji screen with capiz as panes. if your crafty, you may try colored handmade paper as panes. or you may place big jars strategically arranged as heaven-man-earth instead of dividers. 

the floor tiles should be light in color such as white or beige so as to give the illusion of a vast space.

I'm overwhelmed with ideal designs for a small kitchen I found from diff blogs. Could anyone give her thoughts on this design:

Wall Cabinets - glossy white.
Countertop - salt and pepper granite or any other off white shade
Backsplash - white subway tiles (will scout this weekend...)
Appliances - mostly white
3 Floating shelves - above the burner
my accent would be the open top shelves (small square shape) painted with aquamarine or melo torquoise inside

Approx length of the kitchen is only 114 inches (including width of ref of 21 inches)

better if big size sis as it's more convenient to clean it. madali kasing madumihan ang grout e so its much better pag malalaki like 60x60 para madali rin linisin and the place will look more streamlined and spacious pa.

^^our kitchen is all white too sis. the cabinets are glossy white, our countertop is synthetic granite in white, the backsplash is frosted glass. floor is 60x60 white granite tiles. the stark whiteness of it all complement the mirrorized stainless steel oven, rangehood, microwave, ref and daylight led lights.

i like your ideas sis. the effect is chic and modern with a Greek touch.

Based on your description, sarap tumambay lang sa kitchen mo. ganda! I wanted (sana) a tempered glass backplash that can also serve as a writing board (saw it from one of the condo living blogs). BUT due to budget constraints, that would remain a dream for now.

I had to make changes to my initial design because my low ceiling is not ideal for the addtl small open cabinet on top hehe... Decided to have the wall painted in the shade of aquamarine. Since I couldn't find any supplier of white subway tiles, maybe I'll just have the granite countertop extended by 6" (?) for backsplash.

Naku, tagal ko pinagisipan kung white appliances or stainless. I think ma-OOC ako sa pag maintain ng stainless appliances hehe.

Btw sis, did your cabinets and countertop have the same shade of white? I will contact the granite supplier right after the installation of the cabinets (hopefully by end of next week), till now I haven't decided if I'll go for a plain white, beige, or white with black specks.

yukishih--how much yung design fee nya per sqm? kindly PM me naman. yung brother  ko kasi need a designer e. gusto ko irefer yung designer ko kasi cheap lang din siya at super okay kausap, and satisfied naman ako sa design outcome. kaya lang yung designer ko malayo sa brother ko , kaya hanapan ko sila ng ibang designer.

no sis. mas whiter ang cabinets ko. parang magnolia white ang countertop ko. ultimately, streamlined lahat. kaso tama ka, kahit ako nga na ooc sa kakapunas ng stainless.

@arksarah: okay ba yun super white na 60x60 for a 25sqm? Para kasing over sa laki... Sige tingin kami sa decimal this week. Hindi ba mahal don?

@Showermist: thanks! Actually mas preferred ko nga hardwood or yung tiles na wood design kasi parang cozy yung effect nya. Si husband kasi gusto naka-tiles naman yun buong 2nd floor including the bedroom. But we'll see. Canvass pa kami ng tiles.

for 60x 60 tiles, try mo sis sa mc home depot, fc floor center or at tile express shop.
