Hi mga sis na ID, question. I am planning to renovate our powder room and I want to give it an Balinese look.

I was thinking of tiling the whole room in brown then halfwall na mirror with back lighting. Ano kaya magandang color for the floor and ceiling? How about color ng counter top? The room is really small though so I was thinking if I still go for Wenge color for the shelf baka it's too dark already and would look too cramped. Help!!!

^ ano bang size ng bathroom mo sis. sobrang liit na ba? wenge stained wood may emphasize the balinese style of the room coz balinese is more into wooden and natural materials. and since it's more into the naturals baka hindi maganda ang ceramic or porcelain tiles. although hindi ko na kasi alam kung ano na ang range ng quality ng tiles sa pinas ngayun. i'd personally recommend marble in light neutral color. counter top should be the same color as the flooring.

Sobrang simple lang ng interior design namin sa house daanin ko na lang sa lights at display. Gusto ko kasi kahit maliit ang place namin maximize lang ng space.  DIY lang talaga ang lahat sa amin. Hopefully successfull ang outcome.

tama si sis paige830, light colors lang para ma-accent yung wenge wood mo. counter top, you can go for brown or black na granite- madami sa wilcon pagpipilian.
madami ding mapagpipiliang tiles ngyn na good quality maski mura. go for sol ceramica or lola brand. meron din mga mukhang travertine pero porcelain lang siya.
suggest ko lang, don't skimp on the fixtures (basin/faucet/wc) kasi maski cheap mga tiles mo, ang fixtures talaga magdadala ng banyo.

^madugo yan, dami rules sa condo at mahigpit kaya d ko kayanin ang ganyan. Unless may malasakit ang foreman e sure ako mahirap maghanap ng ganun. Nasa 960k lang naman sis d aabot 1M. Maayos na brand kasi pinili ko kahit mga maliit na materyales.

mahirap talaga pag gusto mo magrenovate ng condo- so unless ikaw talaga titira dun at pangmatagalan, o kaya madami ka talagang pera, masakit talaga sa ulo. Last na project ko dun lumagpas ng 2m- di pa kasama mga misc na bayad sa kuryente, tubig, cable etc.- although hi-end naman yung mga furniture at materials na ginamit

^yes sis tama ka, mahirap pag condo kaya maayos na kalidad agad target ko para isang abala na lang. Ayun nga lang yung napili ko na contractor e palpak. Previous na projects kasi ok at mga binisita ko pa. Ayun nga lang dami nya inaccept na projects tapos wala naman pala syang sistema. 4 kami na may problema sa kanya dito pa lang sa bldg na ito. E madami sya clients sa area dito.

Yung mga gusto po na iayos sa unit ipapagawa ko na sa iba.

mahirap talaga pag natambakan ng projects. I think kahit sino naman magkakamali pag sobrang dami ng ginagawa.
Basta advice sa mga sis natin, double check nyo na muna kung gano kadami projects ang hinahandle ng contractor/architect niyo bago niyo kunin (pasimple lang na tanong hehe)
keep in mind na mas ma-effort ang gumawa ng condos kesa mga residential/commercial areas. kasi aside from the strict management, mas maliit din ang time frame ng paggawa. at sympre pag maliit, mas binubusisi mga detalye.

we're about to transfer to a 53 sqm 1 br 1cr condo nearer the office. it's been rented out before so we need to fix the place like putting up cabinetry in the bedroom and in the kitchen, repainting the walls and re-tiling the floors. i want to add a guest room and i want more storage. hope to achieve all these without cramping the space. plus, we have a lovable large dog with us. sana someone here can refer me to a reliable ID who is also pet considerate. For those who've wondered how much it would cost for an interior designer to do space planning for just one area of the house (roughly 14-16sqm), here's the proposal sent by Kristine Anne Neri who is an interior designer regularly featured in Real Living:

CONSULTATION PHASE

AFFIRMATION PHASE
- Signing of contract / proposal

INITIAL DESIGN SCHEMATIC PHASE

CONTRACT DOCUMENT PHASE
- Preparation of drawings based on approved Design Documents consisting of drawings and specifications setting forth in detail the work required for the completion of the project

b. Rendered Interior Perspective
c. Color Schedules (Color Schemes; Stain finishes etc.)

D. WORK DURATION
The Design Service to be rendered for this project is set at 1 month including the design phase. It will commence a day after signing the contract. The Design Phase of the service will be set for 2 weeks.

E. PROFESSIONAL FEES
Given the above scope of work, work procedure, deliverables and work duration, the Professional Interior Design Consultation fee is as follows:

Total Contract Price : Php 30,000.00

F. SCHEDULE OF PAYMENT
50% Down payment - Upon Signing of Contract and Issuance of Notice to Proceed
50% of Total Fee - Upon Submission of all Contract Documents

G. OTHER TERMS AND CONDITIONS

A. Purchase of Goods
1. All purchases made through the Interior Designer shall be billed to the client.

2. All purchases shall be subject to the client’s approval in the form of confirmations which will require a 50% down payment of the full amount as so the case may be, to authorize such orders. The date of payments of such purchases will be set forth upon each confirmation. Should the items to be purchased are off the rack pieces, full amount shall be required from the client.

3. Interior Designer shall not be responsible or liable for the quality, workmanship, appearance or warranty of all purchased goods.

B. Project Termination, Suspension or Abandonment
1. In the event of the termination of the project by the client, Interior Designer shall be compensated for services rendered. All funds paid shall be retained.

2. In the event of termination not the fault of the Interior Designer, the Interior Designer shall be compensated for services performed prior to termination. A written notice of termination shall be issued.

C. Contract Documents
1. All original drawings, designs, renderings, materials, models, photographs, samples supplied by the Interior Designer and shall remain her property and be retained by her after completion of the project. The clients may receive photocopies of the drawings.

2. The client has the assurance of the Interior Designer that all services shall be done in good faith.
