Interior Design Matters

hi denise05, i need some interior finishing work done on my 120 sqm (floor area) home. my contractor/archi is offering to be the ID na din with add'l fee (10% of const cost or 1000-1500/sqm). his previous design works are ho hum... have specific ideas na actually on what i want -- just need sort of a professional nod lang kung ok. is he charging a reasonable rate?

to other sisses, if u have ID referrals that are reasonable naman, at pang finishing lang -- no major works needed, pls advise. tx! 

This might trigger some violent reactions from our ID friends here sa forum but one thing I learned from several interior renovations is that sometimes it is more cost-effective to work with the contractors / foremen of known IDs since they already know how IDs think. Sheer exposure and osmosis.

I know of one. Tony Bungay. 09079871880. Let him share na lang his resume. And he's not expensive. Trust me.

 mga sis actually napaguusapan na namin buong bahay papa-ID namin.. kaso sana makahanap kami ng murang ID para magdesign sa house namin.. yung tipong marunong sa recycle thing kasi super dami namin gamit at lahat sabog sabog dito... parang hindi namin maisip paano papagandahin.. thanks sis.. mga magkano ba ang rates nila? thanks

hello sis, help naman... sa tingin mo magkano ang gagastusin kung magha-hire ako ng interior designer para tulungan ako sa furniture selection para dun sa apartment na lilipatan namin, maliit lang naman sya 2 storey lang bale 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms... sya na rin ang magdedecorate, kasi maliit lang yung space so gusto ko sana ma-maximize na hindi nagmumukhang masikip. How much kaya magagastos sa PF and furnitures? kahit rough estimate lang sis.. TIA

Want to ask an opinion on how to make my home safe for my 2 sons who are 3 and 2 y/o. The space is not that big but I know with proper guidance from an ID we can make it look spacious and safe at the same time for my boys. mga sis nakita ko itong site na ito http://mahoganyplace3.blogspot.com/ and nagustuhan ko yung paggamit ng glass for the doors and windows. napaka streamlined, clean and airy nang dating. kaso since nasa pinas tayo syempre mainit kapag ganyan ang bahay hindi ba kase walang papasok na hangin e kemahal mahal ng kuryente kung magpapaaircon ka ng buong house. ano po suggestions nyo na para pwede ko gawin yung ganitong glass design sa bahay namin pero may papasok pa din na hangin? naisip ko na ang mga sliding doors and windows (tapos maglagay ng screen para hindi pumasok lamok at langaw) pero maliban pa doon ano pa po pwede?

if i want to hire an interior designer for my home, how much usually ang kanyang professional fee? what is the difference between getting an architect and an interior designer? and architect ay sa house construction ba?

^sis 120k bale for repainting lang? i mean repainting is the major work to be done?

in my opinion, kung repaint lang parang mas mura kung kukuha na lang ako ng pintor. some even DIY yung paint job lalo kung me exisitng paint na yung bahay at bale ire-repaint na lang.

mahirap kasi i-DIY yung magmamasilya pa ng wall to cover holes and other imperfections.

as to paint itself, pwede naman magpa-mix na lang sa paint center or sa ACE. basta me sample ka ng gusto mong kulay.

kung ako kasi i'd love to hire an interior designer kung major renovation yung gagawin ko like tear down a wall or change the layout of a bedroom or house.

altho depende din sa 'yo if budget is not an issue or kung kaya ng powers mo na ikaw mag-interior design ng bahay mo. ako kasi me koleksyon ng real living at my home magazines and i get my ideas from there. i also search the net for design ideas. kasi naman nagtitipid nga ako. hehe.

pero kung di mo kaya i-supervise or wala kang interest sa pag-interior design better nga to hire a pro. mahirap din kasi mag-intindi ng mga detalye or to decide what color would look best in a room.

balak din namin magpa-repaint pero this time all white ang gusto ko except for the bedroom na most likely neutral ang papagawa ko. since white lang naman gusto ko pintor na lang talaga kailangan ko. yung sa accent color alam ko naman what color i want so no need for a designer for that.

about your kitchen cabinet... papalitan ba yung cabinets or repaint lang din? nabasa ko sa proposal kasi repaint lang tapos change ng handles.

i'm currently having my kitchen cabinets re-done. as in total renovation at bukas nga gigibain na yung existing kasi magpapalagay pa ako ng sliding window above the sink area. 58k bale yung cabinets at granite countertop. taas-baba na yung cabinets na yun. i designed the partitions pati sizes kasi hindi maganda mag-drawing yung kausap ko. as to workmanship nakita ko naman na okay sila gumawa nung pumunta ako sa shop.

me nakita pa ako sa sulit.com na kitchen cabinet maker na gagamit pa ng autocad to show the client how the kitchen will look like... pero mas mahal sila i think, based sa nakita kong pricing sa website nila.

ayun kung kaya mong tyagain mag-drawing o mag-layout di mo na din need ang designer. ako kasi nagtyaga talaga ako kasi i want it to be according to my needs and specifications. naghanap lang din ako ng pics sa internet at magazine and i based my design from there.

you can also go to ikea.com and download their kitchen planner tool. although syempre wala tayong mabibilhan ng mga ikea cabinets and other prods sa pinas since wala pang shop diyan pwede mo naman ipagaya.
i have a question (hindi ko lam kung dito ko ba dapat ipost), gusto ko bumili nang mirrors at ilagay sa wall para magmukhang maluwag ang isang room (bale wall mirror ba tawag dun tapos mula taas hanggang baba), san ako makakabili at papaano ang pricing sa mirrors? can i have them in any size i want like pwedeng isang buo or pwede ko ipa-cut to 3-4pieces na lenghtwise? also paano po sila kinakabit? gusto ko yung kabit is kapag lumipat kami ever madadala ko siya
