Bobbi Brown Thread
« on: August 03, 2009, 10:49:54 pm »
Hi guys! I'd like to start a thread for one of my most favored make- up brands, Bobbi Brown.

My Bobbi Brown fixation started when I was in highschool because my mom is an avid fan of the line, until now. She would always haul tons of Bobbi Brown stuff whenever she'll go to Singapore (it's cheaper there). It was then when I discovered my HG pink blush, Bobbi Brown's Blush in Pale Pink. Nothing can ever replace this color in my heart. Their blushes are quite pigmented and the staying power is really impressive. :D

Bobbi Brown may be a fan of neutral and bare looks, as it is evident in her creations, which eventually inspired her make- up line. In my opinion, i think they have the most gorgeous and the widest brown/neutral/earth shades of lipsticks. I also love how pigmented the eyeshadows are, though they don't have loud and bright colors.

I actually have a bit of Bobbi Brown stuff: Creamy Lip Color in Retro Pink and Heather Buff, Pale Pink powder blush, Eyeshadow sharpener. I'm actually planning to try their powders and foundation. The skin foundation looks very promising.

It's a tad bit expensive than MAC. Overall, I don't mind since the packaging is very classy and beautiful and their pots are kinda' big as compared to MAC, which means more product for your moolah.

Another good thing, their SAs are quite cheerful, not intimidating and very nice. Dennis, this SA in Bobbi Brown Rustans Makati is a very kind man. My mom likes him so much because he treated my mom nicely when she was in her raggy clothes while she was browsing in the BB counter. She hates this in a way because Dennis is so kind, she would always end up buying tons of BB stuff. Whenever we're around the make- up section of Rustans and Dennis will get a glimpse of us, he would always approach us and give us a sweet smile and a wave of the hand.

How about you guys? Do you like Bobbi Brown? What are your Bobbi Brown products? :)

I love Bobbi Brown! If I had lots of money, this is the makeup brand I'd splurge on! I want to get their customized palette, the shimmering nudes, and the brushes (and lots of other things).

I currently have:
Shimmer tint in Tea Rose
Shimmer tint in Posey
Raspberry Face Palette (gorgeous blush)

I want to get either the Skin Foundation or the stick foundation. Hmmm... Not so sold on the concealer though, too thick for my taste even with eye cream. Laura Mercier remains my HG for undereyes.

This thread is bad haha I want to try their product but I'm always intimidated by their SAs. Sa Makati lang ba meron nito? kasi parang I don't see this in Shang.

What are the must-haves for this brand? Aside from blushes (iwas muna ako kasi ang dami ko na nito) haha

Hmm,wala. Di talaga ako attracted sa brand na ito. Although tried and have them naman before some of their products like lippies, eyeshadow palettes, blushes. Pero talagang di sya ganun ka-attractive and impressive for me like nars and mac. But it's a good product nonetheless.

I also like BB.  I used to ask friends or family who went abroad to buy this for me.  Pati mga BF or husband ng friends ko :D.  Pagbalik sasabihin hirap naman hanapin nyan.  Kala pa nila si Bobby Brown the rapper! :D

Anyway, I finised 2 Sable eyeshadow kasi I used it as eyeshadow and eyebrow pencil. Used to love Mahogany and Cocoa as well saka sa lipstick Ruby.  Meron pa ba ng mga yan now?

Dami ko ding BB brushes,  eyeshadow, eyeliner, eyebrow, contour, etc.  Mas mahal pa yan dati sa MAC ha.

Pero after a while nabore na ko sa colors nila, althoug for me, walang magagalit ha, mas gusto ko yung pagkapino ng eyeshadow nila kesa sa MAC.  If you like classic colors, go to the BB counter. Kung yung fashionable colors naman I guess go to MAC.

heatherette: haha. :D actually, yung SAs nila sobrang bait kaya nga ako napapagastos pag andun eh haha. look for dennis. he's really nice. :)

must- try talaga ang blushes at lipsticks nila. i also have their cream foundation before and it blends well. natural ang finish, since it's the bobbi brown promise.

siguro kasi kaya hindi ganoon ka- attractive ito it's because they don't have an impressive range of colors since it's a neutral line. but i really appreciate this because i'm a sucker for neutrals and browns. and i also love neutral looks. if you're looking for wonderful shades of browns, i really suggest bobbi brown. and i have to agree that their powders, eyeshadows and blushes stay relatively long on the skin. ganda pa ng pigmentation.

my mom's hg for lipsticks is the lip color in Nude by Bobbi Brown as well. The skin foundation (?) is their new product eh. It's flawless finish imitates the natural look of the skin so i might get my hands on this one. :)

yep, they really have pricey stuff. pero around 100php lang naman ang difference from mac.

another must try, their creamy eye pencils. i use the black one.

i wanna try their skin care line!

their creamy lip colors are gorgeous. every color gets a whopping 4.0- 4.8 out of 5 as per the girls in makeupalley. retro pink is a nice color that gives your lips a nice pinkish hue and gives your lips a nice nude pink color if you build the color.

uber pink is a pink coral color that will flatter any skin tone.

heather buff is a nice color too. it's a nude colored lipstick. :)

sayang nga i missed their pink raspberry collection. sucker pa naman ako for pink lipsticks and blushes.

:)

icepink: hwow! good luck! hope you can give us a review. :)

cher.liman: yes, i had this as a gift from my dad. i mix this with my facial wash and body washes para exfoliated talaga as in ang balat mo. after drying your body or face, you'll really feel that your skin is soft and uber smooth. it has salt grain and other herbs and flowers that aids in repairing and moisturizing. i already emptied my bottle. i checked sa rustans tapos ang mahal nya pala! nako, ayoko maadik. buti sana kung once a week lang ako maligo at maghilamos okay sige bibili ako. :p

I have raspberry face palette. Super nice. at first, i thought parang nice, but when i used it, its really nice. The blush there, is so bright and pretty but used with a light hand, you can tone it down and it will just give a pink flush. The shadows (white and grey , not very familiar with names) are smooth and pigmented. The liptints i dont like that much though

ooh i love Bobbi Brown! i have tons of pot rouges. buti naka-score ako ng Raspberry and Pink Raspberry pot rouge sa Malaysia before it was released here. i didn't get the palette, though, marami nakong similar shades kasi dun. i also have Stonewashed Pink (shoot, it's missing here at home), and Pink Truffle (love this for everyday).

the powder blushes are my staples - Desert Rose (natural everyday look) and Blushed (evening). the oil-free foundation is super nice, this is my HG! loose powder was also good, although nakontian ako sa contents...naubos kaagad sa akin. i also had eyeshadows before - Shimmerwash in Opal was my fave then. i also had the lip tints (lipgloss in tubes), lipsticks, and lip shimmers.

and of course, i used to have the shimmerbricks - Bronze, Apricot, Tawny, and Brownie (which is the only one left with me now). at first it didn't work for me because it fell on my pores. now napapagana ko na siya. :)

the staff is nice. try looking for Dennis or Bea. mabait sila pareho, though Dennis is more popular here ata. :)

mahilig din ako sa neutrals, that's why this brand works for me more than MAC does. :)

^super nice ng Calypso Coral, it's been on my to-buy list for a long time na haha :) and you're right, di madaling maubos ang pot rouge. i use mine by just patting my middle/ring finger on the product, and whatever dot i get, yun na ang ginagamit ko and then build up from there. a little goes a long way. and you really don't have to swipe so much kasi pag nasobrahan, ang hirap icorrect.
