im diabetic, when i found out 200plus sugar level ko.
i have a friend when they found out too late na 500plus na level nya
she's only in her 20s and is doing dialysis na once weekly
i have kids so i'm afraid so i better take my meds regularly

mga sis...my hubby's  sugar level is quite high..just want to know the diet for diabetics? ang hilig ni hubby sa softdrinks at rice ..di paawat talaga.

Sis, aside from diet and medications, mahalaga rin ang regular exercise.  I hope you could encourage him to increase physical activity.  Try substituting food items with sugar-free and low fat ones.  Brown rice is healthier, pa try mo sa kanya yun.

my aunt was diagnosed with that disease kelan lang, she's taking one kind of pill, tapos after  nya kumain ng  mainmeal, lakad talaga sya for thirty minutes.  and she cut down on rice.  and she was advised by the dietitian (ng mga diabetes hehe)  to avoid eating too muc grapes and banana.

meron pa kaya lang yan lang ang naaalala ko. kasi yanang nakikita kong ginagawa nya dati. 

disiplina lang din talaga ang kailangan. 

(my mom passed away almost 3mos ago because of diabetes complication--acute coronary syndrome, mata, paa nya wala ng pakiramdam bago pa sya namatay))

my grand parents, titos and titas, and even my mom had DM2.  Kaya when i was diagnosed with this, di na ako nagulat.  last check ko 132 yong sa akin, a week ago.  so i think controlled pa. 

@satya ... sis, 300 kay hubby mo.  alarming yan, pakonti konti magstart na sya dapat magbawas ng rice.  tas if i can suggest sis, sabihin mo din sa hubby mo na for every can of coke that he consumes is equivalent to how many cups of ampalaya tea he needs to drink.

Mas okay kung organic supplements like Isupro forte.  kase 200IU plant isulin na galing sa 3 to5 kg ng ampalaya.  Sobrang effective siya.  86.6% success rate in lowering blood sugar levels.

my endo is dr. wassmer from makati med. i went to her to help me lose weight. i was diagnosed to be diabetic. i felt quite sad na it's worse than anything else cos once you have it, you will aways have it. i'm still young, in my mid20s... so i still have a chance to change my lifestyle. it runs in my family kasi, the biggest risk factor, plus what contributed pa is that i'm overweight. i go to the weight wellness center in makati med also. it was really helpful going there, sobrang nakakatulong so i'd definitely recommend it. im glad na i was able to detect it... i kinda suspected but wasn't very convinced... i had the symptoms na: frequent urination, super thirsty... ganon.

feeling ko malala na ang diabetes ko kasi, lagi ako nauuhaw, naihihi.. and lumabo na ang paningin ko.. hay.. ang hirap ng may diabetes..

we just found out recently that hubby is diabetic already..ttc pa naman kami  ..everyday kailangan healthy ang food.binawasan na din niya yung qty. ng rice intake nya.aside sa mga medicine i make him drink ampalaya juice before dinner then lemon juice after dinner mga after one hour para ma-digest agad yung food.btw,everyday we monitor his glucose count.

recently lang din nalaman n diabetic na si hubby..with high BP and cholesterol..so everyday check talaga kami ng glucose count nya and in 3 weeks pinakababa palang so far is 251..which is still high. We just eat fish,chicken and vegetable and mabuti na lang din napipilit ko na din siyang kumain ng fruits. I bake his meryenda in the office mostly muffins and cookies..i used low sugar and no cholesterol flour and substitute the sweetener to honey instead.Btw, bago namin nalaman na diabetic na pala siya..may mga nights na naiihi na siya sa bed namin as in di niya namamalayan..mabuti na lang naagapan pa.

@WandergirlC: Try mo si Dr. Sjoberj Kho. Siya doctor ng tito, pinsan at bro ko.  Severe case na ata yung sa tito ko nung lumipat siya kay Dr. Kho kasi malaki na yung sugat niya sa lower leg niya tapos nahirapan makalakad. Ngayon scar na lang.
